  1. I wouldn't doubt it, it's not like he doesn't deserve it for his legendary IC Title run. But the Dynamite Kid: great wrestler, no doubt about it. But besides his supposedly godlike workrate, what else does he have to offer? What are his career highlights, aside from 1) being the *less popular half* of a good tag team 2) his great Tiger Mask match at MSG for the Junior title? Let's face it, Stampede was a relatively obscure promotion, despite the pedigree of athletes that got their start there. While the Harts, Benoit, Storm, Allen Coage, et al. began wrestling there they didn't become household names until after they left there. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that the rationale applied for the WWE HOF is based on the impact a Superstar had in - regional territories (for Superstars of the pre-JCP era) or -the big companies (for Superstars after ~1984). IMO, the Dynamite Kid did not do enough in any major promotion to warrant induction into the HOF. I think there's almost a mythic aura around this guy that is largely due to the 'smart mark' love of workrate. I'd wait for Benoit to retire; he is far, far more deserving of the HOF than the Dynamite Kid and accomplished a hell of a lot more in his career.
  2. I strongly disagree. What did the Dynamite Kid ever do, career-wise, to deserve a spot in the HOF?
  3. So the box would have to say 'Hogan' or 'Hollywood Hogan' or 'The Hulkster' is what you're saying?
  4. A few weeks after Spring Stampede 2000, when it was clear that te New Blood vs. Millionaires' Club angle had ALREADY been dropped. I liked SStampede 2000 and I watched WCW TV for a few weeks after that, but once New Blood guys fought each other and the MClub became less of a unified force, I lost interest because they were falling back into the same old crap angles.
  5. First off, I'm pretty sure Arn said it after Renegade shot himself in 1999. Second of all, I'm sure even Renegade would agree that his push was bound to fail (as a UW ripoff with minimal training/in-ring experience). He was a victim of circumstance and I'm not so sure Arn meant that he disliked the man behind the terrible gimmick.
  6. My complaint about these ads is that while they are fucking hilarious, they are less likely to pick up casual fans than the 'OMG WMania' ads they usually run. I mean, if you don't know who Eugene/HHH are, then the commercial loses a lot of its meaning, methinks. Ditto for the Rumble ad. They are funny to us because we know the wrestlers/gimmicks, but I'm doubtful these ads will draw new fans in.

  8. Jimmy Valiant was inducted in 1996 and was wrestling as of last week. Also, Solie is all but guaranteed to be inducted this year.
  9. It was my understanding that early polls/focus groups indicated there was far less popular support for the decision than would have made it worth Hogan's time and effort; so, he dropped it.
  10. Jesus Christmas! Holy Jesus God damn! Holy Jesus jumping Christmas shit!
  11. Yeah, he's got the National Alliance 'crosshairs' tattoo on his right bicep.
  12. Hart, Volkoff, and Orndorff were faces at one point or another in their major careers. Hart from about early 1993 (after Money Inc attacked him) to late 1995, when he turned on Hogan to manage The Giant for a short while. Volkoff after the Soviet Union fell to when he was "Bought' by DiBiase. Orndorff from...I think after Mania I to that time he attacked Hogan in 1986. I KNOW, but compared to their entire careers they were faces for a short period of time. And when you think of Jimmy Hart, do you think of his years managing the Honky Tonk Man or the Mega-Maniacs?
  13. Rock - Sting could be better used to boost a May-June-July PPV buyrate, not to put a WM over the top. WM sells itself, but JDay/Vengeance/GAB do not.
  14. I like how they've only inducted lifelong heels so far this year. Iron Shiek is in my opinion only a HOFer because he was the transition from Backlund to Hogan.
  15. 1) Where else could he have run WMX7? 2) I think if he can match WM3 20 years later it would mean just as much, if not more.
  16. 1) Whether Batista will jump or not is RAW's new main storyline until 2/21. 2) They have only 3 weeks to book a full PPV card.
  17. Denver? Minneapolis? Atlanta?
  18. The Saddledome, man.
  19. Man, Charlotte. Hadn't thought of that.
  20. Only Vince was injured; London's stretcher job was a work.
  21. I think he blew out his knee, actually.
  22. Well, Fink said that it was on the order of Vince.
  23. well, General Wrestling may know.
  24. Wait until closer to showtime.
