Y2Jerk's argument is not entirely without merit; that picture was taken out of context.

That picture of Angle + Brock kissing was from after-the-show footage that made its way online. That was done to mess around with the crowd after the ME of a SD! in July 2003.

He attacked the ring crew as they were setting up for that night's show.

Yeah, those definitely have great articulation for it: too bad they're like Max Mini compared to the size of rings/weapons available for wrestling figures. Here's another great figure fed: FC f'n W. FCW is notable because all their events are done as Flash presentations, not as stills and GIFs.

Go read what this musical is about and maybe then you'll get how this ties in to the Royal Rumble. Paging RavishingRickRudo...

My sister stole and sold my N64 collection

Eh, I figure if you ask the cops, then they'll have to talk with her. I mean, you have a witness and evidence that she did it. What more do you need? Hopefully, she'll crack under he pressure and contradict herself. What have you got to lose? -
WWE has changed their story in rE: the World Title that we won't really know until this official history is posted.

I take it you were not a fan of his Taboo Tuesday cage match.

Jackson was wildly popular, yet he violated the Constitution by refusing to enforce the 1829 ruling of the Supreme Court regarding the Cherokee. He was reelected in 1832 with 55% of the popular vote. Were 55% of Americans therefore in favor of martial law or dictatorship?

I never said it was. Was Andre the Giant's legacy based on being a terrible worker who could barely stand upright after 1987?
-
I still maintain that his legacy is secure until he can't deliver a 'passable' match; of course, I feel that Flair himself would recognize this as well and retire at/before he reaches this point.
-
I don't see where Flair's legacy is viewed any less by newer fans. With the Flair DVD's release, today's fans can see Ric Flair at his best. I'm sure Harley Race's and Dusty Rhodes' legacies weren't recognized by the average WWE fans in the 80s, but fans today know that Race and Rhodes are legends.

Well, I really don't feel that Flair has declined *all that* much since his last World title run. He's been having good matches since his WCW Title win back in 00: -against Sting on the last Nitro -his RR02 match with Vince -his 'no punches' match with Austin on RAW in 02 -his RAW match with HHH in Greenville in 2003 -his Vengeance tag match against La Rez -his Unforgiven tag match with Batista -and most recently, his cage match with Orton at TTuesday. While I do agree that he has declined somewhat with age (he *is* over 50), I don't feel that we can really know just how much he's declined. This is simply because he hasn't really had to carry anybody at all, and IMO that was one of his strongest assets as a wrestler. Once they put him in a position where he's got to carry someone like Tomko or Snitsky, then we can see just how much he's declined. This talk of his legacy being tarnished is BS in my opinion. All the matches I listed above were praised by many in the IWC. I'm not saying he can reach ****1/2-*****-level matches like it's '93 again, but then again he's far from washed-up like many of his contemporaries (Terry Funk, anyone?). When he starts 'wrestling' like Sgt. Slaughter does today, then he's tarnishing his legacy. Until then, I've got no complaints.

It's really simple. RAW titles = 'World' prefix, barring the IC Title, which is just 'the IC title.' Smackdown titles = 'WWE' prefix. They refer to ex-World (WWF-era) tag champions as WWE Tag Champions because referring to former 'World Tag Champions' doesn't really explain WHERE they were Tag Champions (WWF? WCW? ECW? AWA?). I think they will be alternating between presenting new RAW and SD! title histories.

Remember, No Mercy was going to be at the MCI Center, but sloooooow ticket sales led them to move it to New Jersey just a month before the PPV.

The OAO Mystery Science Theater 3000 Thread
Slickster replied to DMann2003's topic in Television & Film
I didn't get to watch until 1998, and even then it was a premium channel (I saw it on one of those 'trial weekends' like the Disney Channel used to do). Anyway, I was so hooked from that show that I actually watched it in Scramblevision until we got the channel. That said, I've got an obvious bias for Sci-Fi Era stuff. Pumaman and Prince of Space have always been 2 of my favorites. I can watch Pumaman over and over and always find something new to laugh at. *Pumaman hanging on to windowsill, squirming as he's inches from falling to his death* Servo (heroic voice): PUMAMAN~! -
Not to mention his reign as IWGP Champion. Plus, one can't forget that some historians credit him with an AWA Title reign for his win over Bockwinkel. Actually, I'm not exactly sure, but I think the IWGP Heavyweight Title history and the IWGP tournament that Hogan won (by actually KOing Inoki accidentally, IIRC) were two different histories. As for the AWA title win, every place I've looked doesn't have mention of him winning. That's including Solie's Title Histories, PatrickRiley.com's AWA World Title History, and the (debatable) Official AWA Webpage You win this round, Mr. Waters. You and your voluptuous sig pics have caused me to commit two grievous errors. *shakes fist*

Yeah, the match was pretty much '4 guys brawl around the ring, 2 guys get 2-counts on each other' for 10 minutes, then they rip the door off and dick around over near the set, then they go to the roof, Rikishi dies and Taker falls asleep on the roof or something, Rock-Austin face off in midring for the first time, everyone trades finishers and Angle's arm drapes across the Rock for the pinfall victory.

Five Dead Include Gunman in Ohio Shooting 9 minutes ago U.S. National - AP COLUMBUS, Ohio - A man walked onstage in a crowded nightclub during a rock concert Wednesday night and opened fire, killing at least four people and wounding at least two others before he was shot to death by police, authorities said. The man began shooting during the show at the Alrosa Villa and opened fire on members of the heavy metal band Damageplan just after they had begun playing, a witness said. The witness said the gunman initially sought out the band's guitarist, who went by the name "Dimebag Darrel." According to the band's Web site, the guitarist is a former member of the heavy metal band Pantera. Columbus police spokesman Sgt. Brent Mull said a police officer shot and killed the gunman. It wasn't immediately clear whether the officer was already at the show or had responded to an emergency call. Authorities didn't immediately provide the identities of the victims. The witness, 22-year-old Chris Couch, said the shooting occurred about 30 seconds after Damageplan had begun playing. Couch, who was standing about 30 feet away from the stage, noticed a man wearing a hooded sweatshirt and hockey jersey walk up to the stage, followed by a bouncer and another club employee. The man in the jersey climbed onto the stage, started yelling and shot the guitarist five or six times at close range, Couch said. Couch said the gunman also shot a bouncer who pulled him off the musician. At that point, Couch and a friend headed for the exit along with a tide of hundreds of fans. "It was definitely a grudge. It was against something," Couch said. Amanda Stankus, 19, who attended the show with Couch, said she initially thought the shooting was part of the show. "I just saw the guitarist fall down, and we decided to get out of there," said Stankus.

Not to mention his reign as IWGP Champion. Plus, one can't forget that some historians credit him with an AWA Title reign for his win over Bockwinkel. So yeah, that would be 15 World Title reigns if he gets the NWA Title.

You assholes have a ppv soon. So don't be bitching. I don't know if too many smarks will consider Armageddon to be a PPV; to many, it's a house show with better production values.
