Since the SD! during which the US Title Tournament was announced, it has been made perfectly clear that the current WWE US Title is the same US Title held by Sting, Slaughter, et al. However, in WWE records it is commonly referred to as a different era in order to delineate things for the marks. The WWE CW Title *is* the WCW CW Title, but look at Rey Misterio's bio and he is credited with them as 2 different titles. Otherwise, fans would be trying to see how he held the CW Title 8 times (he held it in WCW 6x, in WWE 2x). End of story.

*DISCLAIMER: A belt is not a title. Raw has used the NWA/WCW/World belt, but I will argue why the current Raw title is the same title held by Booker T, Nash, et al.* Well, they're 2 parts of the same company, like the NL and the AL in baseball. This is why MLB can make rules affecting both leagues. But let's keep going... True, see also the US Title becoming part of the IC Title in 2001. Interesting theory, but IMO it doesn't hold up and I'll tell you why... Yes, but Smackdown brought back the US Title in June 2003. This was after the IC Title was returned to active use on Raw; how could SD! de-unify the US and IC Titles without Raw's consent? (And they *did* restore the original JCP/WCW US Title, BTW; that was made perfectly clear from day one.) The answer is that the WWE's 2 brands presumably have (limited) control over titles beyond those unified on their own show. Smackdown needed a secondary title, so they de-unified the US and IC Titles to fill that gap. You seem to forget that when the Undisputed Title was 'disputed' on 8/29/02, that was a breach of the brand extension itself; Stephanie McMahon 'had no rights to "take" the WCW World Title lineage' in the first place. Bischoff retaliated by de-unifying the World Title (called the WCW Title before 11/19/01) from the WWE Title so Raw could have its own World Title.

Or Savage beating up on Team Madness? -
Fun fact: Gene Snitsky wrestled on an Armed Forces Entertainment wrestling tour last year, competing in Britain, France, Uzbekistan, Egypt, Kuwait, and Afghanistan.

Ah, the Gold Club scandal. Yeah, that was an ATL stripclub where athletes and stars got free sexual favors (shut down in 1999 due to racketeering charges). Many WCW stars got laid there (including Bischoff, who testified about his 3way with a Gold Club dancer and his wife). -

Vandenburg was with WCW starting in spring of 1997 (he appeared at Slamboree '97). -
A punishment from God.

Best/Worst Looking Championship Belt

Notice how this TV belt looks just like the old WWF belt that Hogan use to have. Actually, the story goes that Hulk Hogan had the WWE title made to look like his title from Rocky III (like this); the NWA followed suit with the National/TV title design. -
That's what I was thinking, actually. It's been 16 years --- the "most likely guy to win" should EVENTUALLY win. Hell, #1 has won repeatedly --- #30 never has. -=Mike I guess we'll have to wait at least another year for this to happen. No way they will have Orton come in at #30 and win. That will make him even less respected as a real main eventer. I think #30 can only work with a heel or a face that was either a surprise or injured.(watch Orton win from 30 with this creative team) What number was Brock Lesnar? #29, the latest Rumble winner ever.

<3 nikjohns for posting that ZIP. Clip #8 ends with the greatest wrestling move I have EVER seen.

Wow, this could be historic. Like 'Showdown at Shea' or 'Superbowl of Wrestling' historic. -

Razor 2 was played by Montreal's Rick Bogner, better known in FMW and NJPW as Big Titan. -
I'm not sure how this can be a 'hot new angle' that gets average Joes to watch again. 'Hey, you know that UFC stuff?" [which people see as bloodsport] "Well, on wrestling last night they had one of their guys beat up a pro wrestler!" [it must be fake because its pro wrestling; who watches that crap?] Unless they resurrect the Lion's Den cage and have Puder Kimura guys to death, I don't even see how it could fit into the WWE context w/o giving Puder a lot of training so he doesn't potato guys like Shamrock did when he debuted.

Vis works when he's needed as 'generic big fat heel' for under 3:00 (singles match) or 7:00 (tag). After that, he's exposed.

Armageddon 2000: Taker throws Angle face-first into the side of the cell. Then, Taker sets up to punch Kurt and as he does the Double Feature of the cage shot comes on screen. What makes this funny is that the 'whip' sound effect used for the Double Feature comes on JUST as Taker connects with Angle's head. My friend and I still laugh at Taker's infamous Whip Punch. Souled Out 1998: Hall is wrestling Larry Z (whom he just slammed) but is distracted by Dusty Rhodes on the apron. Zbysko gets up and almosts jumps Hall, but thinks better of it and PLAYS POSSUM, awkwardly falling back into position like he broke his hip or something.

Given the financial state of the company, I'd pay him per appearance; he's got a steady job working in Memphis anyway and I'd rather have him keep that (where he's *over*) than get stuck as a HeAt JTTS for the next year.

I either watch them for free at a local college or I download them the next day. I haven't bought a wrestling PPV since KOTR2001.

They didn't; she was paid per appearance and is apparently done with the company.

Thanks for making the save, Deon. That's what I get for trusting my memory, I guess.

He claims he said "goofs" but got tongue-tied.

Some do, but others don't have that 'no-compete' clause in their contracts.

Khosrow's real name is Shawn. Shawn Daivari is from Minneapolis. Hassan (Mark Magnus) is from Syracuse, NY.

Yeah, but 'Afire' is more than 2:00 long; it's a fucking tour de force in itself, not some little 'hip sound effects' fade-in intro.
