  1. Harley Race's years a manager in WCW are a blip, a footnote in his legacy. Ric Flair's will be too, in my opinion.
  2. It was a Hall of Fame introduction Hall of Fame presented by Gorilla Monsoon: Bret Hart (winner) • Yokozuna • Diesel • Bob Backlund • The Undertaker http://www.100megsfree4.com/wiawrestling/p.../wwf/slammy.htm WWE should take advantage of that and make sure to point out that Hart is already in the HOF because there's no way the Hitman would be willing to work with Vince again.
  3. In my opinion, Flair will be remembered along with Hulk Hogan and Lou Thesz as one of the three men who personified what North American pro wrestling is all about. Lou Thesz brought the business out of the carnival circuit during the 50s and 60s with his emphasis on technical ability; his 'shooter' persona brought an air of legitimacy to pro wrestling that had ben sadly lacking. Hulk Hogan's career was based far more on his gimmick and persona than his (nonexistent) wrestling ability; people paid to see Hulk Hogan, not to see Hulk Hogan wrestle. Hulk Hogan brought wrestling into the mainstream. In his prime, Ric Flair was a combination of the two: an incredible wrestler with an instantly recognizable persona. Flair was arguably the greatest heel of all time while also proving to be a capable face (see Starrcade '83). Even now, Flair can wrestle better than many OVW guys half his age (see his TTuesday cage match for proof).
  4. I hope he didn't think he was cool by stealing lines from BATMAN FOREVER of all things.
  5. He is still a active wreslter. I'm guessing you have to be retired for good to make the HOF. Well, retired from WWE, at least. Jimmy Valiant and George Steele were inducted in 1996 but still wrestle at indy shows.
  6. My picks for future celebrity inductions: Mr T. (main-evented WM1, co-main of WM2) Lawrence Taylor (main-evented WM11) Mike Tyson (refereed main event of WM14) Also, Howard Finkel, Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, Hugo Savinovitch, and Carlos Cabrera could also be picked for induction at any time.
  7. There isn't one, really. They used to make a temporary one as a part of Axxess, but with the end of that fan festival this HOF exists only on paper...like the real Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame.
  8. What? General? Army? HUSTLE pose? WTF?
  9. I blame that on smark hate for HHH; it was a questionable booking decision to give him the win. That, and there was no real buildup on the match itself; Jericho was used by Vince to teach HHH a lesson in storylines) and the match was HIAC simply because Vince said it would be.
  10. They're also classics:
  11. ^ photo taken last night as they prepared for today's press conference.
  12. -Nash says half the guys didn't show up tonight, so we had to book it earlier today. Awesome. Tenay is smiling and says, "Welcome to the all shoot edition of Thunder." DDT Digest 10/14/99
  13. Right, but a lot of casual wrestling fans like 'entertainment' and gimmicks over 60min ***** matches.
  14. In the ring or backstage? LOL He hit Awesome with his crutch and cost him the match.
  15. Puder's hometown is 100mi from Fresno (home of the Rumble); it's the closest city.
  16. I prefer "Freddy's Dead (Why Was I Born)" by Iggy Pop (closing credits of Freddy's Dead)
  17. That would be the KOTR '99 ad.
  18. http://www.wwe.com/superstars/raw/gene_snitsky/profile.jsp His real name is Gene Sinisky, BTW.
  19. It's still visible, but just barely.
  20. "Getting Away With Murder" by Papa Roach.
  21. Arena is capacity 13,000 (11K with stage/ring), so this follows WWE's trend of slightly downsizing the arenas they use for PPV to minimize tarpage.
  22. Oh, and WWE sold the former 'The World' restaurant to the Hard Rock Cafe.
  23. WWE REVISIONIST HISTORY!! From the WWE Armageddon press release: That is WRONG, plain and simple. That PPV was IYH: It's Time but it featured an 'Armageddon Rules Match' between the Undertaker and Terry Gordy (as the Executioner). I'm sure they wish they could have used a different PPV name besides 'It's Time,' but this is downright Orwellian.
  24. The botched finish of Chavo-Kidman was why it was cut, I assume.
