  1. Oh God, he MUST do this. "Cameraman, ZOOM!"
  2. Yes, the Iron Sheik's full given name is Hossein Khosrow Vaziri.
  3. Right now, it looks like the turnaround for PPVs is between 2 and 3 years, so it shouldn't be too long before WWE returns to KC.
  4. Well, I know that it's at least half-true.
  5. Well, I know that it's at least half-true.
  6. Yes, we mean Ultimo Dragon.
  7. There are no logos other that the main WWE one on the rumble poster. The other is a RAW-only PPV. Or am I missing something? Probably saw the 'WEST SIDE' as the RAW logo.
  8. Christian's theme is inherently illogical. From LouisvilleMusicNews.com's interview with Waterproof Blonde: Source
  9. I've always wondered why Ottawa, ON has never hosted a PPV.
  10. Not too old school, but how exactly do they not kill people in a Buried Alive Match? I've always though that there's like a framework with a 'grave' hole and a hidden chamber, then the structure is covered with/filled in with dirt. Is that accurate? Also, any idea how much those things cost to do per match?
  11. Like cars and video games, they 'advance-dated' the tapes so they would seem newer than they actually were. In addition, there was more than a one-month wait for these PPVs to reach VHS, so Starrcade 1997 probably didn't reach stores until April 1998. However, the Giant picture situation is odd, to say the least. In the US, the tapes were labeled like this: Starrcade 97 = sold as 'Starrcade 1998' Starrcade 98 = sold as 'WCW Starrcade' with the newer WCW logo and the PPV date written at the bottom of the cover (WCW PPVs from late 1998 weren't avail Starrcade 99 = sold as 'WCW Starrcade - Battle to End the Millennium' If your tape is from the US, then idk who that could be on the back of the box.
  12. I wonder if they'll run Bad Blood at the Joe or at Cobo Hall...I guess it depends on how the business is at that point.
  13. I prefer this Rock n' Roll Swindle myself.
  14. Does anyone else see a slight discrepancy here? That's taken out of context, he's pointing out that there have been NWA champions who weren't great 'wrestlers.'
  15. That made my day. Thanks! /you forgot Tekno Team 2000...
  16. Hooray for Holly getting punished. Man, this Dawn/Jackie thing would be a good feud if anyone gave a shit about the parties involved; it's been building since September and has been consistently in the background of other storylines. People would care if this involved two male superstars, but since its the Divas it means nothing but slaps and hairpull tosses.
  17. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
  18. The Macho Midget debuted on the 8/2/93 edition of RAW, helping Savage pick up the win in a singles match over Doink. On the 8/9 RAW, Macho Midget/Bushwhackers def. Blake Beverly/Brookyln Brawler/Little Louie. (I should know; I was there.) The IC battle royal occurred on 9/27/93.
  19. According to Bret Hart's shoot interview, had they held SSlam in Landover, HBK would have won the IC title in a ladder match; Bret claims that the 'test match' he and HBK had had a couple months earlier was to gauge audience reaction to the ladder match and so the two men could plan spots in case they had a rematch at SSlam.
  20. Ditto for when he cut his heel victory promo at WMX with a massive gob of saliva on his face.
  21. HHH to Kurt Angle, Unforgiven 2000 (he's whipping him into the ropes): "Duck, high knee." That one was so loud JR had to cover for it by saying HHH was taunting Angle by telling him what he was going to do next.
  22. Eh, methinks that the Rumble format is one of the last sacred cows in WWE; I'd only be on board if it were, say, lowered for part of the match but didn't directly influence the finish (like the 'hardcore' segment of the 2001 Rumble). At least with the Rumble, any fan (even if they haven't watched since 1989) can watch a Rumble match and have some idea of the rules; the Rumble is about the only thing that hasn't changed since the Attitude Era.
  23. Steve Austin at Backlash 2000; there'a a moment where he's throwing chairshots and he starts to lose his balance. With both hands holding onto the chair, he tries to steady himself to stand back up. Thing is, it takes him a second or two to do so and you can hear the crowd quiet down just a bit. For that one second, the world saw just how physically weak Austin still was.
  24. Ca ne marche pas.
