  1. Unless Prazak was in character, then he was being an idiot. And I'm sure Joe vs Necro II could sell tapes. I just don't think Necro is a Strong Style worker.
  2. There is more to Strong Style than hitting hard. I can hit hard. Does that mean I can work Strong Style?
  3. The only title change that could get people more likely to go to house shows would be either of the world titles. They are the only ones who people care about. The other ones have zero value to the fans, because they've been treated as such, so people aren't going to care if they might see them change hands or not.
  4. Some of the recents ones have been downright putrid, and are easily on the same level as some bad Nitro's. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't know if they were that bad, but there have definitely been Raws as bad as the worst Nitros. Some Raws in 1999 were beyond atrocious. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They were that bad. I think the Raw from August where they heavily teased Bret Hart showing up at Summerslam ranks up there from stupidity levels.
  5. When I think 'Strong Style', the last person I think of is Necro Butcher. I don't exactly think of Corp Robinson either, but more Necro.
  6. Bret Hart on WOL
  7. I can see at least two people in there who don't belong.
  8. Some of the recents ones have been downright putrid, and are easily on the same level as some bad Nitro's.
  9. Everything Vince Russo ever wrote.
  10. If you want to find out the truth, assuming you're willing to accept it, you could search yourself or just ask Meltzer or Keller. The fact is that Austin made more money for the WWF/WWE than Hogan did.
  11. I'd say keeping the system in place that causes the deaths to keep going is just as tasteless, and probably more so.
  12. If we are just talking about WWF/WWE, then Austin brought in far more money than Hogan did.
  13. The people inside who can make the change haven't cared enough to make any changes far. This report might not do anything, but neither as anything else so far. Not even numerous deaths.
  14. It's also in Vince's hands to stop putting so much pressure on the guys so that they don't have to be in that position. It's a team deal. Both sides have to be willing and able to do what needs to be done. It just looks like one side is a lot less likely to do that.
  15. Would Eddie have been fired if he it hadn't got press? Road Dogg had a pot problem for a while, long enough for them to send him to rehab repeatedly, but they never fired him over it until he wrestled in a match that was going to be taped for television. Tully Blanchard has openly admitted to taking coke while in the WWF, but Vince never suspended him over it until Tully just happened to agree to leave and go back to the NWA. Vince might care to some degree, but it's strange that the guys almost never get fired unless it gets press or are going to the other side.
  16. With 12-14 people in his family having it, Angle is a prime candidate to suffer from it too. With those kinds of odss, taking the kind of drugs he has increases those odds even further.
  17. From Green Destiny.
  18. If anybody has to lose in Christian vs Monty, it has to be Monty. If Christian makes the jump and then loses his first big match, then any casuals watching it will see a superstar get beaten to a complete unknown, and you don't want that out of a guy that you must made a lot of noise about getting. Ideally, Monty shouldn't lose either, but there is more to be lost from Christian losing than Monty losing, even if it was a screwjob.
  19. Hunter started bulking up a little in late 1997, and he was bigger in 1998, but he looked huge in 1999.
  20. If it isn't a ploy to sell tickets, then make anybody buying tickets from now on get in for free.
  21. Take a look at how big Rey and Kidman were in WCW, and how big they were, and became, in WWE. They didn't bulk up because they had a year with nothing to do but go to the gym.
  22. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> People are reading this wrong. The thing about Edge was on his future, but the skits was nothing to do with him. That was about the Coach/Goldust/Vader skit, which Dusty was behind, and Vince hated. Dusty got a lot of heat from it, especially because Vince doesn't like Vader to begin with.
  23. Either you can blame the workers, and note that they have an inate attraction to unnatural drugs. Or you can blame the guy that pushes the system. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There is enough blame for everyone. The promoter who wants a certain look from his top stars, that almost nobody can get without drugs. The wrestler who takes it, even though he knows the damage, but feels he has to in order to feed his family. And the fans who mark out for guys with huge muscles, and don't bother to think about what that wrestler is taking in order to get that physique he's marking out for.
  24. I think that could have been done by both educating the fans to accept non-roided up people as top guys, and those fans accepting that mindset. That would have taken time, and neither Vince nor the fans in general have the time. The lack of bodies absolutely had an affect, simply because for years the fans were told over and over again that big equated to talent. That was something that Vince didn't want to change and the fans weren't able or willing to reject, without time, and neither party was willing or able to take the time. Vince could do so much good to stop this sort of thing tomorrow if he wanted to, but he won't. Like you said, he doesn't see wrestlers has people or human beings. He sees them as a toy to use and play with to make money, and if that toy breaks, then he'll toss them in the garbage and go to work with a new toy. It's either that, or he flat out doesn't care if his wrestlers die or not. I don't know which one is scarier.
  25. Something else for people to not care about. A wrestler dies, and his family, if it's a name, gets a tribute show and words of comfort. Anyone else, and they might get a graphic before Raw, but that's about it. Though, even Crash Holly wasn't acknowleged until three months after he died. Once that's over, however, it's back to the assembly line to churn out the next statistic waiting to happen.
