I'm guessing no. -
That was Vince during that beyond terrible JR skit, right?

Chono vs Hogan is decent. It's not great, or even good for that matter, but it's a lot better than you'd think.

Chono vs Chyna is 10/14/02, and Chono vs Hogan is 10/13/03.

Which it won't be.

Any serious thoughts about the nuclear option?
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Art Sandusky's topic in The WWE Folder
Vince's plan is to eventually have WWE Channel of some kind, not necessarily as their primary television home, but also in case they do lose TV completely. The Smackdown brand can be viable in that they'll be able to keep the losses as low as possible. I don't think PPV business for SD can get any worse if they lose television and are limited to US-based internet coverage and international television deals (Remember, that a portion of WWE PPVs buys, especially for WM, are from overseas). I think they are at the lowest possible level, and I don't think losing Smackdown on UPN could make it much worse, which itself shows how bad they've gotten. Smackdown is being watched by those hardcore viewers who are going to watch no matter what. It's been long enough since the move to Friday that any sizeable portion of viewers who were going to stop watching will have stoppped by now, and anyone around is sticking around for the long haul. -

As long as they've got Raw, WWE will not lose that core audience. If they lose Raw, which I don't think Vince will ever let happen, then they might be in trouble. -
According to Bryan Alvarez, Batista can't even lift his arm.

Vince was the one who said that Shawn would put Davey over the next time they were in the UK. Shawn never said that. -

Even if WWE lose Smackdown on UPN, and can’t get another network here to take it, they might keep Smackdown going, like they did with Heat and Velocity, to maintain commitments they made to overseas broadcasters. If that happens, that means SD gets shown on WWE.com and the split stays. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That can't do well for SD-only PPV business. And wouldn't all their other contracts be up as well, because I can't imagine everybody signing off on the programming if there were any doubts UPN might not pick it up after the contract period. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They can't get worse. Right now, they're down to their core fanbase who are going to buy the PPV's no matter how bad they look or how terribly they get promoted. The overseas contracts are for hours of television per year, and some of them are less then a year old and are likely to be a few years in length, meaning WWE would have to find the programming to fulfill those obligations from somewhere, so it makes sense from that point just to keep going with Smackdown. -
Especially after how nuts he's gone in the last month.

I think they might go with Orton taking the title and Eddy chasing Orton to avenge his friend Batista. Orton won't get cheered, but I don't know Eddy will get cheered much, if at all, because the people don't want and Eddy who has friends. They want an Eddy who is out for himself. They should turn Eddy full blown heel. Sure, he'll get cheers, but so what? The heel Eddy, the only heel Eddy that really works, is going to get cheers, so they need to just deal with it. As for who gets the face spot, they'll go with Rey just because they know they'll get good matches and will feel like Eddy should get a few more pinfall wins to make up for all the jobs he did. Or they could go with Undertaker. The matches will be ok to good, but we'll get shitty finishes because Undertaker is past the point of doing clean jobs. Putting the belt on Rey is not the worst idea they could go with. It's not like things are going to get worse. Worst case scenario, they get some really good matches.

Because 2005 is so bad you want it to end now? -
If they put Eddy in that spot, then they've got a guy who can get a better match out of Batista than Orton can and can make Batista look like a monster. The only problem is that you'd have a divided crowd, and WWE doesn't want that. With Orton, nobody would cheer him over Batista, but you would get worse matches and Orton couldn't sell for Batista the way he needs to be sold for. Plus, Orton being in that spot would require him beating Undertaker at SS, and I don't see that happening. Actually, I could, because it means Undertaker gets to lose without doing a job.

By being a shitty wrestler. Which is what Necro is.

If they felt him a failure, the belt would have been off him by now.

I can see them running an angle where someone beats Batista for the belt, injures him to write him out so he can get the surgery, and then Batista returns at WM where he gets the belt back.
-
--Batista will have to decide whether to attempt to rehab is back, or get the muscle re-attached through surgery. He would be out about three months with the latter procedure. From Meltzer.

New Japan to withdraw from Dome Shows after 1/4

I think a Tanahashi G1 Final win next year over Tenzan or someone like that would remedy that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Any reason as to why you choose Tanahashi? Pardon my ignorance, I respect your opinions tremendously so I'm just curious. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Tanahashi is better than Nakamura in every way. The only reason Nakamura got the stronger push was because he has the shooter deal going for him. They gave Nakamura the superpush, it didn't work, and now the fans are pushing back. -

Bring in Matt Hyson as Big Matty Hyson as a white guy trying to act like a black rapper. Do the interview all in ghettospeak, playing it like it's comedy, and then half way through have Hyson stop, toss down the cap, chains or whatever shit he's got on and then say he's not about being what he isn't but about being what he is, and that's a guy with heart and desire. -

Have Peterman and Trish Stratus wrestle for the title with Peterman outwrestling Trish and ready to win before Trish has a wardrobe malfunction that distracts Peterman allowing Trish to roll him up for the win and get a title that people don't think she deserves.
