  1. I think Ferrera booked that match out. Ax didn't look like one of the fake Stings. I know one of the fake Stings was one of AMW.
  2. Lets be honest...how often does a "Oh My God" moment happen on Raw? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If you believe the company, all the time.
  3. 4 and 7 seem like matches to look out for, but I'm wondering if the heat for 7 is as good as that report suggests.
  4. None of our other armchair bookers have anything going?
  5. I turned off at the main event. I have zero desire to see Jeff Jarrett's Clusterfuck Match Part 456.
  6. Yea, Though I Walk Through The Valley Of The Shadow Of Suck – Part 13 Sting v Jeff Jarrett – WCW Halloween Havoc 2000 The storyline behind this match was actually not that bad, as it saw Jarrett mock Sting by assuming the persona of Sting circa 1991-1993, complete with face paint and glittery coat, and deriding Sting for ‘losing his heart’. Would the match be able to follow the storyline proceeding it? The match began decently enough, but after only a few minutes of action 1988 Sting showed up at the top of the ramp, taunting Sting, who came out to meet 1988 Sting and, after a brief scuffle, laid him out with a Scorpion Death Drop on the ramp. Jeff Jarrett attacked him at this point, and they wound up brawling through the crowd, all the way around the arena to the floor area on the side of the ring away from the ramp. At this point, 1992 Sting came down the steps, and interrupted things, and Sting brawled with this guy all the way to the top of the ramp where he was dispatched with another Scorpion Death Drop. The fun wasn’t over yet, as after only a few more minutes of action, Wolfpac Sting, complete with baseball bat, appeared at the top of the ramp, and came to the ringside area to taunt the real Sting. Can you guess what happened? Yes, Sting and Wolfpac Sting battled to the top of the ramp, and Wolfpac Sting was dispatched with a Scorpion Death Drop, but this time Jeff Jarrett took advantage and used the aforementioned bat to nail Sting, and get the upper hand. They brawled back to the ring, and we got a few minutes of bearable action, before Sting applied the Scorpion Deathlock, at which point Crow Sting, the fourth bogus Sting so far, came through the ring, and dragged the real Sting beneath the ring. After a few moments, real Sting came back up, dragging Crow Sting with him, and sent him crashing out of the ring. The action resumed for a few minutes, but then the lights went out, we got a little light show, and Crow Sting #2 ascended from the ceiling to land at ringside. Real Sting went after him, and a one-sided brawl ended with Sting giving Crow Sting #2 a Scorpion Death Drop through the announce table. Sting went back to the ring, and with the referee nowhere to be seen (I don’t know where he went), applied the Scorpion Deathlock to Jarrett again. This allowed Crow Sting #1 to smash a guitar over Sting’s head, but as Crow Sting #1 celebrated, Sting sprung back to his feet and nailed him with a Scorpion Death Drop, but this in turn allowed Jarrett to hit Sting with another guitar, which this time knocked Sting silly, as Jarrett made the cover, and the referee reappeared to count the pinfall. Rating: If this reads like a mess, just imaging having to watch all 15 plus minutes of it. I have no idea what could have been going through the mind of whoever came up with this nonsense, but it certainly wasn’t, “How can we give the fans the best match possible?”. I have no idea why they didn’t cut out all the fake Stings save one, and have him to interfere right at the end, leaving Sting and Jarrett to have what would surely have been a pretty decent match. What was the point of booking so many fake Stings to run in, when each subsequent fake Sting would take away the impact from the previous fake Sting that came before it ? In what universe could anyone possibly think that this inanity would in any way make for a bearable match, let alone a good one ? Did nobody point out that five fake Stings was beyond overkill, and that it might make sense to only have one or two fake Stings? This match was a disaster on all levels, because it didn’t accomplish a single thing. Did it get Jarrett over? Did it get Sting over? Did it get anyone over? What did this farce accomplish? As I mentioned earlier, Sting and Jarrett could have had a decent match if they had been allowed to, and quite why they weren’t allowed to I don’t know, because this mess served no purpose except to piss off an already disillusioned and terribly jaded audience. Two thumbs, eight fingers, and all ten toes down.
  7. Hiromichi Fuyuki and Shinya Hashimoto also come to mind.
  8. 1. Do you think AJ Styles is a good worker? I think Styles is a good worker overall. He has a few things that keep him from being more than good, but just because he’s not great that doesn’t mean he’s not good, because he is. He’s smart, because he knows what the TNA audience wants and he delivers, and that’s what you’re meant to do; give the audience what they want. a. Does he have good psychology? For his high impact style of match, AJ has great psychology. AJ can keep the crowd going and popping through those matches, and knows how to get them cheering him and not lose interest. For a ‘standard’ match he’s ok, but I don’t think he could do a ‘standard’ match that went very long. b. Good selling? It’s ok/good. I find it can be a little hit and miss at times, but it never gets bad enough for me that I’m shaking my head. He’s better at Shawn Michaels, though, when it comes to doing a logical adrenaline burst spot during a match. c. Do you think he blows a lot of spots? He can, but that isn’t because he’s bad but because he does spots that have a high risk of being blown. Does it make him bad because he keeps doing those spots? Possibly, but he hits far more than he blows. 2. Do you think AJ Styles is the ideal poster child for TNA, excluding his devotion to the company? In some ways, yes, because TNA should be everything that WWE isn’t, which is athletic and exciting wrestling, even if, to some people, it’s ‘wrong’ or ‘not wrestling’. a. Is there anyone better? If so, who? Christopher Daniels, because he has more charisma, can talk better, and is more grounded than AJ. Again, that is not a knock on AJ, because AJ is good to great, but Daniels is just a better figurehead. 3. Do you think AJ Styles is charismatic? I think Styles is like Benoit, in that his charisma evolves during a match. The people cheer Styles when he comes out, but they don’t really get into him big until he’s doing his match. On his own, Styles is a little unassuming, and that is something he needs to work out, but during a match he is one of the most charismatic in the company. a. In ring charisma, crowd involvement See above. The TNA fans get more into AJ’s matches than all but a few TNA guys. They go rabid for AJ during his matches, and isn’t simply because he’s doing high risk moves. They get into the guy, the like the guy when he’s wrestling and you cannot deny that. b. Out of ring charisma, promos. Same with Benoit, in that he’s not that hot of a talker. However, that is down to the character, because if Styles was a cocky heel then I know he could be great. 4. What's the best AJ Styles match you've seen, not just limited to TNA? Right now, I’d go with the three-way main event from Unbreakable. Side note from that match is that the last five minutes had to be called on the fly because of a time cue mistake. 5. Do you think that AJ Styles has the "tools" to be a top-drawing money maker? If you’re looking at this from a WWE perspective, then no, but this isn’t WWE its TNA and TNA have to be something different to have a real chance to succeed. AJ can be a top-drawing money maker for TNA if the trademark for TNA is exciting wrestling.
  9. Does Elizabeth count?
  10. The problem is the same as All Japan had, in that nobody is considered talented enough to keep the match quality that people expect at the top level.
  11. WWE still have no dates booked for MSG in 2006.
  12. Taue is a transition champion. Misawa would be nuts to keep the belt on Taue for any length of time. What makes me sad about this is that Misawa wasted a clean singles job to Rikio to try and get him over.
  13. It looks like Ross won't even be doing that. For all intense and purposes, he's done as a television and an on-line personality.
  14. Pointing out that your top babyface is getting booed is intelligent? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Intelligent in the sense that it should be acknowledged. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The last thing a heel should ever do, even if he is a terrible announcer, is point out a failing in a babyface that can make the people go, "You know what, he's right".
  15. Not likely, considering they can watch Benoit on tv every week for free. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> More wrestling fans have heard of Benoit over Kobashi though. If they got the pub out it would draw in more fans. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'll guess that more ROH fans have already seen Benoit live than have seen Kobashi live. That was the big lure of Kobashi; watching him live for the first time ever. Chances are most ROH fans have seen Benoit live.
  16. Not likely, considering they can watch Benoit on tv every week for free.
  17. This week's Observer says that she quit. So, in that respect, she wasn't fired.
  18. Pointing out that your top babyface is getting booed is intelligent?
  19. Paraphrased from this week’s Observer:
  20. If they could make money, or at least not lose a whole lot of it, from touring and house shows, they would have done so by now.
  21. American Dunn Well Males Well Dunn American Males American Males Well Dunn The possibilities are endless.
  22. Double turn with Kurt and Cena?
  23. Put less stress on a 40-year old mind and body. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> By going to TNA and wrestling with no WWE-Style matches with risk takers like AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe, etc.? Wouldn't that be worse than what he's doing now? He'd be better off retiring if that's the case. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> He wouldn't be working with them every week. And he'd only be wrestling once or twice a night one day a week.
  24. American Males 2K5.
  25. Put less stress on a 40-year old mind and body.
