Inoki has stopped putting New Japan guys into shoots, yes, but Yuji Nagata's younger brother is fighting on the K-1 12/31 show, though I don't think that is down to Inoki. New Japan business way down right now, and you can put a lot of the blame on that to Inoki's MMA fetish. It's similar to the NWO vs WCW feud, where NWO would always kill WCW and WCW would never get that big win and were always made to look like fools and lost all credibility.

It is bigger in that the others you mentioned were fired or let go, but to the outside world Christian left WWE willingly to join TNA. And you don't even know what Christian will do in TNA, so it's very premature to say those names have done more than he ever will.

Inoki lost his mind and wanted to turn New Japan into what it used to be when he was in his prime and he was on top taking on various shooters from different disciplines. The trouble was that when it was Inoki versus Shooter in his day, the guys were bought and paid for to lose to Inoki, where the New Japan guys today were put into real shoots and got killed almost every time. In Inoki's defence, he almost certainly thinks he really did beat those guys back then, but each win was bought and paid for. Inoki refused to stop his mindless quest, even when New Japan business was freefalling into the basement, but he was determined to prove the unprovable.

Larry Zybsko for starters and I read it in someone's post where they said think of him (Abyss) like Vader or Andre. here's the video with larry's quote http://www.tnawrestling.com/roster/abyss/index.html <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I've never put much value on what Larry The Shill has to say. And do you remember what poster compared Abyss to Andre? I could see comparing Abyss to Vader, though that is still a stretch, but Abyss to Andre? Someone would have to be on something to compare the two.

Who has ever compared Abyss to Andre?

Brief thoughts on Kobashi vs. Joe
Hunter's Torn Quad commented on a blog entry in World's Worst Blog
My standards are strict too. Check out when we talked about Kobashi versus Misawa from 2003 and Kobashi versus Akiyama from last year. -
If only there was an ongoing series of articles about the history TNA, and if only they were being linked to in specific threads in the TNA folder. Oh, look. There are. History of TNA I History of TNA II

New Japan to withdraw from Dome Shows after 1/4
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in General Wrestling
He's downplaying it a lot, and is mostly talking about what areas New Japan need to run in instead of the Dome. He does say that he expects people to be cut from the roster, but for a news story as big as this he's not treating it like the big deal that it is. Basically, it's as you'd expect from New Japan's biggest mark. -
Did you hear that Brad Imes mother, Carolyn, died on Sunday?

I'd love for Joe to win WotY 2005 if only to see a whole lot of people throw fits over it.
-
I've not seen the first, but I have seen the third. I didn't think it was as good as the second. I'd call it ****, maybe.

*****, easy.

Is that the new word for tool?

Sid is a giant number two. So is Nash.

So I've got it right, the top babyface was laid out by a referee, correct?

This special was all kinds of greatness. It was just mindblowingly great, with each fight getting better and better than the one before it. Sanchez was a demon on the mat and he was on fire. This whole event should be a huge shot in the arm for UFC, and hopefully will bring in a slew of new fans.

When I got the tape I went straight to the main event. Even with Joe vs Punk II I waded through the undercard, but not this time.

Meltzer and Alvarez were talking about Cena on WOL just now, and about Cena's negative reactions. They talked about how maybe Cena should lose the belt so there is less resentment from the fans who hate him, because they won't hate him from being higher then they think he deserves. Alvarez thinks they should take the belt off of Cena. Meltzer also said the plan seemed to be for Cena to eventually lose the belt to Hunter at WM, but that that might not happen now.

You don't win NCAA titles without paying mental and physical dues. You don't reach that level of success without paying a mental and physical price. Lesnar paid a whole lot of dues long before he entered wrestling. If you want to write those dues off because they weren't in wrestling, more fool you. But Lesnar paid his dues and then some before he entered wrestling. Giving Lesnar the title didn't "give him nothing to build on". Giving someone the title isn't the be all and end all of putting someone on top. There's also being on top and staying on top. Lesnar did that over time, not right off the bat. Once Lesnar had done all that and saw that he wasn't going to get to do that again, he lost some of that desire, simply because when you're that competitive and you feel that you've come as far as you can in one field you lose some of that fire; after all, when you want to do the best you can and you realize that you've done all that and won't get the chance to do so again, you naturally begin to think of a new challenge for yourself to take because you want a challenge. You forgot to make fun of Brock working on knees that needed surgery for a couple of months so he wouldn't let fans down and almost breaking his neck to give the fans a moment they would remember. With 'fans' like you, I can see why wrestlers easily hate them.

Worst excuse to get out of a job/angle?
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Epic Reine's topic in General Wrestling
And then he put off losing to Goldberg so he could keep going with the feud with Kevin Nash that nobody gave a fuck about until Mick Foley and a HIAC gimmick were brought into play. -
Vince isn't happy with Coach

Was SB on at the same time as Raw? -
Vince isn't happy with Coach
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
Because he's not employed. You can't "have" someone do something when they don't work for you and because Jericho isn't leaving the good life to sit at a table with Joey Styles. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Is Jericho really unemployed, or is he "unemployed"? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Fake unemployed. -
Vince isn't happy with Coach
Hunter's Torn Quad replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
No, he can't. Coach replacing JR has completely exposed how horrible Lawler has become. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You apparently did not watch Taboo Tuesday. Lawler put on one of his best performances in years with Styles to carry him along. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> One great night versus five shitty years. -
Lesnar paid dues. He worked with broken ribs, busted up knees that required surgery which he put off to work through, and almost killing himself for people at WM 19. That man paid dues.
