  1. Well, the HBK marks at least.
  2. Jesus H Christ, don't some people know when to leave well enough alone? I said it earlier and I will say it again; this debate is long over. People have made their opinions known, ill-informed as some of them are. At this stage of the game, nobody is going to change their mind on how they view Shawn Michaels, and constantly resurrecting this debate isn’t going to do anything but add more and more posts to a never-ending cycle of idiocy, all of it from the pro-Shawn camp who can’t seem to let go of the fact that a lot of people have an informed opinion, backed up by well thought out and logical points, that Shawn Michaels isn’t the great world class worker that they think he is.
  3. They do many house shows at baseball stadiums during the summer. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Boogeyman debuted at an outdoor house show. He made it to the ring, began to speak, and then it promptly began to rain like crazy and they had to call it all off.
  4. Vince McMahon Vince has a reputation for being a genius. Why? He’s a tremendous wrestling promoter, but whenever he has tried anything outside of wrestling he has fallen flat on his track marked ass. That is not a genius. Vince McMahon succeeded because of a lot of guts and a lot of luck. Vince’s genius, and this is the only smart thing that Vince Russo of all people has ever said, is that he surrounded himself with smart people. A genius also wouldn’t allow himself to be blinded by nepotism, and would see through the egotistical manipulations of his family. Shane McMahon Shane, you are not and you never will be one of the guys, and you absolutely never will be accepted by the locker room. For the sake of the marketability and credibility of the talent, and because I think you suck, I hope you never wrestle again. Linda McMahon Linda seems like a nice person most of the time, though the investor’s conference calls show she can still be a bit of bitch if cornered on an issue she knows she and the company are at fault at. Linda is probably the nicest of the McMahon family, but I don’t know if that’s a compliment or an insult. Stephanie McMahon What does she bring to the table apart from the right last name? For someone who grew up in wrestling, she knows fuck all about it. Just a terrible head writer and the inherent problems with the writing will never get better as long as Stephanie is head writer. Sadly, we all know the chances of her ever being removed from that position are just about zero. Even getting pregnant is unlikely to remove her from that position, and that might not happen, given that Hunter’s little swimmers must be drowning in a sea of drugs and stimulants. Eric Bischoff Eric got very lucky while heading WCW. He was able to talk the kind of corporate bullshit that the people at Turner could understand, and he got them to open up the wallet and pay for all the grandiose ideas that Eric has. And that is what brought down WCW from within; too much spending without a thought given to if what they were spending on was worth it. Of all the faults Eric had, and he had many, the biggest was that he listened to all the wrong people and was totally under the spell of Hulk Hogan. Eric remained convinced that no matter what happened, as long as he had Hogan then things would be fine. Even now Eric still believes that Hogan wasn’t part of the problem in WCW. That said, Eric does deserve credit for sparking off the Monday Night Wars, because without Nitro coming along and giving Vince McMahon a kick in the ass, none of the changes that revolutionized the wrestling industry were likely to have happened. Sadly, Eric’s legacy will forever be being one of the architects of the death of WCW. Bill Watts Bill Watts was one of the best bookers in wrestling. He had a tremendous mind for the business, a great eye for logic and small details, and was a great commentator as well. Unfortunately, his stint at WCW a complete and total failure, as Watts showed that had failed to move with the times. Hulk Hogan Hulk Hogan is the master when it comes to political maneuvering. When it comes to doing what is best for himself, regardless of whether it is the best thing for business, Hogan is the king. Hogan is the king of politics and the king of putting his ego ahead of what is best for business and what is the right thing to do. Hogan has derailed as many careers and pushes as Triple H, and is one of the most self serving, disingenuous and insincere people in wrestling, and that covers a lot of ground. I have never liked Hulk Hogan, even though there is this longstanding myth that claims that everyone was a fan of his at one point. I hate Hulk Hogan the character, and I despise Terry Bollea the human being. The sad thing is that they have been one and the same for a long time. Terry Bollea has so lost himself in the Hulk Hogan character that he can no longer separate them, and Terry Bollea the person truly believes he is Hulk Hogan the character. Bollea is also so lost in the idea of always working the people, read: lying to them, that he does it all the time and even lies when there is absolutely no reason to. I honestly believe that Terry Bollea is utterly incapable of telling the truth, and that he cannot help but lie and exaggerate everything he says. I’d feel sorry for him if I didn’t hate him so much. Randy Savage Randy Savage has truly gone off to where no man has gone before. A once great wrestler has completely lost himself in a world of lies and perpetual works. Sadly, the only one being ‘worked’ is Savage, but he is so far gone he doesn’t even know it. Ultimate Warrior Warrior makes some really outlandish statements at times, and I think this takes away from the fact that he can be a very intelligent man at times. I think Warrior would come across a lot better if he didn’t take fifteen pages to a write an opinion that could be better expressed in five. Rock Rock is without a doubt the most unselfish main event player in recent history, and maybe of all time. Nobody at his level, or even close to his level, has done as many jobs as he has, and done so so willingly. Rock is the ultimate team player. Rock is a hard worker, and while he isn’t the most technical of wrestlers; his sharpshooter is the drizzling shits, he more than makes up for it with timing, facial expressions, and selling. I hope Rock makes millions of dollars in movies and goes on to have a long and successful career in the mainstream entertainment industry. HHH As a wrestling talent, Triple H is a good worker. He can talk, he can work hard when he wants to, and he’s a decent hand to have on the roster. As a human being, Triple H is pure scum, and one of these days karma is going to bite him on the ass, and with what he has coming due to him, there won’t be anything left of Hunter to cry over. Steve Austin At his peak, Austin was a tremendous worker. He always worked hard, and often did so when it was best for his health that he didn’t. The biggest money maker that Vince McMahon has ever had, Austin was the key player in reviving the fortunes of the WWF. Austin always vowed he would never be the kind of politician that Hulk Hogan, but sadly, if expectedly, Austin wound up doing just that. While not on the scale of Hogan, Austin still used his political muscle to hold people down and stop programs he didn’t want to do, and while I agree with it in some cases, a lot of it was down to selfishness and ego,
  5. Don't some people know when to call it a day? This debate has gone as far as it can. It's over. Let it go, and move on.
  6. I reviewed both Steiner v Hunter matches. I watched them back-to-back to do so. I've got a dozen or so reviews at hand to post. Some of the matches will have been done before, but some will not have. Did you get bored of being entertained or are you one of those people who have a underlying fetish for the iggymcfly's of wrestling matches? Either way, Im certaintly anxious to see which other matches you suffered through. I did it for TSM. I did it for the people. I took it upon myself to witness the most hideous horrors of professional wrestling so that decent folk out there don’t have to. I am all heart. Or maybe you also knew it would attract more people, rather then another "Look at how good this match was" review. People love reading negative movie reviews and I think the same applies in wrestling. You did it for the HTQ hit count. I am shocked, nay appalled, at such an accusation. This slanderous accusation is completely without merit or foundation. I would never, and HTQ means never, do something solely to boost the hit count of my blog.

  9. Bullshit. People didn't boo nWo's "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan because they were just going along with the storyline. He was a cowardly, scumbag heel who the crowd wanted to see get his comeuppance. If andybody disagrees with that, I'd be shocked. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In the here and now, people do not want to boo Hulk Hogan. Back then, when Hogan was not the nostalgia act he was now, there were people booing him because they hated him, but there was also a lot of people who were still cheering Hogan.
  10. Charismatic and a hard worker in Mid-South, Duggan stopped trying once he left Mid-South, and we got subjugated to one of the worst wrestlers ever. Sticking your tongue out sideways and looking like a cross-eyed inbred moron to get a reaction doesn’t make you a good worker Jim. Tenta tried hard, I’ll say that much. However, he still wasn’t that hot in the ring. For all of the monster aura the WWF tried to give him during his run with Hogan, he just lacked that necessary something for it to really click. It’s sad that his health is deteriorating, and I wish him well on that front, but Tenta still sucked. Opening match comedy gimmick with the talent to match, Shark Boy is funny in skits, but he does nothing for me in the ring outside of the occasional five minute comedy match. Not the best of in-ring workers, Konnan has a ton of charisma. He’s a great talker though, and he’s good enough that he can cover for his in-ring deficiencies. I’m not that hot on his matches, but I could listen to him talk all day, especially when he’s commentating on a horrible match.
  11. They've dismissed every other warning sign that's come up. Getting heat from their "home" won't be treated any differently.
  12. There was a legal dispute of some kind between WCW and New Japan over Vader working in UWF-I, hence Vader using Super Vader in UWF-I. It was decided by a court that because Vader was part of Darth Vader's name in the Star Wars films, New Japan couldn't stop WCW using that part of his name, which is why the Vader's name was shortened to that after he started working in UWF-I. Given that, I don't think WWE can stop the guy using the Vader part of the name.
  13. We have a winner. You win a closed thread. Thanks for playing, and come back again soon.
  14. Then I can see why Iggy suggested it.
  15. Being in Seattle. Seriously.
  16. So was Shawn's in his HIAC match with Undertaker. Shawn is another guy who doesn't hide his blading very well. Randy Orton was hilarious with his blading at the EC in January. He was meant to get slingshotted into the cage to 'bust him open', but he had trouble getting the blade out, and the spot had to be halted for a few seconds so he could finally get the blade loose.
  17. Final blame lies, as it always does, with Vince McMahon. For all the grief that Laurinitis gets, some of it deserved, he’s only carrying out Vince’s orders. Vince has the final say over everything.
  18. Isn't this the reason that Sting was acting like such an ass over not wanting to be a heel either? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes. Since the heel is meant to end up getting beaten, you would think good Christian men would jump at the chance to show that the bad guy always winds up losing in the end.
  19. People don't want to see a heel Hulk Hogan. They won't pay to see one, just like people didn't pay to see a heel Steve Austin. Both men could work at getting the crowd to eventually boo them, but they were booing because they were going along with the storyline, and not because they hated them. People don't want to pay to see a nostalgia act they are meant to boo. People pay to see a notalgia act they can cheer for and are meant to cheer for. I'm not a fan of Hogan, and I don't care to see Austin either, but only a fool would dismiss out of hand the drawing power of such a match. I wouldn't pay to see it, but I would be in the minority on that one.
  20. The two biggest stars in the history of North American wrestling facing each other for the first time ever in a singles match, on the biggest stage of them all, and it wouldn't be the biggest match of all time? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The fans don't care about either guy as much as they did when they were in their primes. Like I said, you can't bring Austin back and have the fans care about him the same way they did in 98 and 99. Same with Hogan. Is he still popular? Of course. But he's nowhere near where he was at WM III. I'm not saying that no one would care about a match like this, but it wouldn't be the biggest match ever. Hogan/Andre, Hogan/Rock, and Hogan/Warrior are the 3 biggest WWE matches of all time, in my opinion. There's no way Hogan/Austin would sell 93,000 tickets and sell out the Pontiac Silverdome. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If they were coming back as full time wrestlers, that argument would have merit. They would be brought back as a nostalgia deal, and nostalgia can draw some huge numbers. You think WM X8 drew so huge because of Hunter in the main event? If Austin and Hogan were treated as just two more wrestlers on the roster, I might agree, but it won't be treated like that. It will be treated as two iconic people meeting for the first time ever in a singles match, on the biggest stage of all. That will draw monster numbers. The 93,000 number is a work.
  21. While I think Austin v Hogan could be seen as this generations version of Andre v Hogan, I also think Austin v Hogan will be so much bigger. It'll draw a hell of lot more, that's for sure.
  22. I feel like the shirts should be accompanied by some cheesy porn music from the 70s
  23. The two biggest stars in the history of North American wrestling facing each other for the first time ever in a singles match, on the biggest stage of them all, and it wouldn't be the biggest match of all time?
  24. He got the build up with video packages. He gets the elaborate entrance. He has two of the three commentators fawning all over him during the entrance. He hasn’t done a job since debuting. He’s rarely looked weak since debuting. He had the six-month gimmick of calling people out and putting them in the Masterlock. Yes, he did it against mostly scrubs, but it’s a lot more than most on the roster get. He’s laid out Ric Flair, who is pushed on commentary as a legend. He laid out Shelton Benjamin, who is pushed on commentary as the best pure athlete on Raw. He laid out Shawn Michaels and left him a bloody and beaten mess. And you don’t see that as a mega push? What about the upstart rookie beating the cocky veteran? They aren’t on equal levels, but that win would mean something if booked correctly. Two people do not have to be on an equal level for a win to mean something.
  25. Even more reason to do a job that doesn't matter. Shawn needs a big win, but who else is there? Carlito? He's taken. Snitsky? He's a joke. Have you not been watching the mega push he's been given all year? He's been pushed pretty hard since almost the start of the year.
