So is De La Hoya interested in anything but cash cowing or is that how he is going to end his career?

Well I think Obama should get some benefit of the doubt and be able to attack the other side somewhat aggresively because it's not like Bush is wrapping up a great success of an 8 year run, in which he is leaving as a popular and well-liked President. The majority of voters consider him incompetent and his policies a failure. His policies should be attacked as should any Bush policy that McCain intends to continue. Obama was right with his "ENOUGH" tone. I do kind of think though that some things weren't harped on enough, such as torture, the enviornment, illegal wire-tapping etc etc.....but I guess I have to take what I can get.

It reeks of a pandering pick, but then again Hillary supporters would have to be awfully dense to vote for this woman based simply on gender when you consider her viewpoints on the issues themselves. Unfortunately, it seems that issues just simply aren't enough to satisfy a lot of people.

Not sure how many people caught John Kerry's mini-speech but goddamn, if he made speeches like that in 2004 in response to the attacks against him, he might have actually captured a little excitement and enough votes to where he would now be running for re-election.

Ken Shamrock vs. Kimbo Slice on CBS

Nice response. Now I kinda hope Kimbo beats Shamrock. -
. The biggest story of the primary was that the Democratic base moved to the leading populist candidate who appealed to the base’s core beliefs (at least during the primaries before Obama's positioning towards the center) vs. the establishment candidate, whose main argument was that she was the most electable (though given her baggage, I thought that point was a bunch of BS). In 2004, Dems chickened out on Dean, and went with the dull, yet supposedly more electable Kerry, and managed to lose to Bush. Pretty much hit the nail on the head. This primary was finally some type of sign that voters are actually somewhat open to the idea of not going with the "safe candidate" and instead going with someone they agree with more on the core issues. Whether you think Obama was the best candidate or not, one thing that is undeniable is that the voters followed through with their hearts & minds this time instead of claiming to want something different and then going back on that once inside the voting booth. Of course if Obama is eventually elected it remains to be seen how "different" he ends up being.

Anyone hear Kuncinich's speech? I just read a report of it on the yahoo news wire and it was pretty much a pure "red meat" speech but I also heard it "electrified" the crowd. That's always a good thing.

When cost isn't an issue, I can't get enough Newcastle on tap.....Love the shit.

Well didn't Vader want to overthrow the Emporer all along anyway? I mean that is why he wanted Luke to join him, so maybe this is just Vader getting on that shit before he was aware he had a son.

Yeah if Kimbo happens to win this match, Brett Rogers better go Clubber Lang at the post-show press conference. -
So between MNF and The Democratic Convention it should make for a pretty fast hour on the treadmill tonight......

I still don't like how linebackers seem to be INT machines in this game. It seems like anytime I am passing over the middle of the field, a linebacker has a 50/50 chance of jumping 10 feet into the air in order to make a INT, when I have a TE or WR pretty much 2-3 yards pass their defender in coverage. The only thing I can think to fix this is to try and tap the pass button instead of pressing it which would change the type of pass I am throwing, but in the heat of the game it is hard to worry about "pressure sensative" button pressing. I have a couple long Portis TD runs saved. I will probably upload them soon for your viewing pleasure. -
Anyone seen this trailer yet? http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/cthulhu/ Looks kinda creepy. Only problem is the trailer seems to give away to much towards the end.....DAMMIT.

I took a drive to the SF Zoo this weekend. I saw a Shell station with the lowest price set at $4.77. Here the average price is around $3.85-3.90

The problem isn't what people say or what they check off in a poll, it's how they vote. If people really want religion out of politics then they better prove it by making abortion, gay marriage, gay rights in general etc etc etc secondary or even after-thought issues. I mean really, we'll see what happens come the debates.

PWNED!!! As if there was going to be any doubt. -
Played through the demo late last night. Really cool, although I could see how the gameplay could get repetative, tedious, and redundant after awhile, however since I have no idea the mission structure and what each mission will entail it is too soon to make too big of a judgement.

How do you do THAT?

On one hand I wanna wait and not touch this till it comes out, but on the other hand, Star Wars games are so hit and miss I think I better jump at the chance to sample the game to get a feel for if it is something I am going to want a bigger piece of in about a month.

So here http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread....=1#post14496534 They basically told me that the Dish HD Receiver itself should be able to be programmed to upconvert the signal to my TV's native resolution which is 1080i so with that said, I just talked to the Dish rep and crunched some numbers and the total will only be $12 more than I pay now....I think I'm gonna pull the trigger....

Is anyone else on here planning on getting The Force Unleashed? I am tempted, but Star Wars games are usually either really fun or really gawd-awful.

To me it's not so much the fumbling itself, but the randomness of it. I can be playing someone online and use the hitstick every time and their running back or WR just get BLASTED, but they hold on to the ball, and then when I am on offense, the defender dives at my runningback's feet and my runningback proceeds to fumble the ball. It is just inconsistent.
