Boo this.

Is it me or does it seem this crowd was muted for precautionary reasons? I mean, whenever they would pan to the crowd, it seemed they were chanting "ECW" or at least SOMETHING, but whenever they went to the wide ringside shot, you couldn't hear the crowd worth a damn. Tonight's show was just kind of awful, there was no reason to take the Knox/Test/Dreamer/Sandman/Heyman into two segments. The lack of CM Punk sucked, because after his hot debut, they should keep the ball rolling, especially since he was mentioned in the show's preview on ECW.com The Sabu/Angle match was decent, but why the hell was it not Extreme Rules? So guys where do they go from here? It almost seems like the Main Event ended like it did so that RVD will win the strap next week at Summerslam back from the Big Show. Maybe next week on the ECW TV Show they can have a 3-way Dance between Angle/Sabu/RVD but goddammit it better be Extreme Rules.

I have seen them, but never had one. It kind of sounds like the Ice Cream Treat "Drumstick" but in a Taco Shape.

Monster Squad was a childhood favorite of mine.

Brunell-to-Cooley was looking sharp in the scrimmage vs. Baltimore.....yeah it was a scrimmage.

Is Lieberman losing?

Is it even confirmed that RVD is back tonight? I know he has been doing house shows, and I am sure people should be expecting him tonight. I have a friend going to the show and I know he wants to see RVD since he is aware the suspension is over and he has worked the last couple of house shows. Also, RVD's role on tonight's show/main event could also determine whether he being thrusted right back into the Main Event spot or not. The thing is, you can't go too wrong right now because guys like RVD, Sabu, and Angle pretty much have their status with the fans cemented, as in, no matter if they job or not, they are still over as hell to ECW fans.

Umm, yeah, this is why I said wait until Meltzer reports it, regarding Vince and Co's reaction to the crowd at Hammerstein Ballroom crowd. This report is the opposite of PWInsider, which said Vince was happy with the crowd and felt that the crowd made the show special. Of course this report is also more specific, breaking down the crowd reaction for different segments.

Free Speech TV. I believe every major broadcast company has it. On Dish it is channel 9415.

FM - KDVS 90.3 92.1 - Best of the 80's AM - 1320(Air America), 650(Conservative) 1140(Sports)

It's kind of ironic because "Not as funny as it used to be" still translates into being a lot funnier then 75% of anything else on TV....In my opinion at least....
-
I usually am flipping between all of them depending on what the specific segment is about. I also watch a bunch of FSTV.
-
- Credit: PWInsider.com I'd like to believe it and be excited, but I also know PWInsider tends to offer up smarkbait that isn't always 100% fact. I will hold off on the celebration until Meltzer says something.....

The only reason he even has a show is because of Jim Rome. Not that he'll ever admit it. Yeah, wasn't he a Jim Rome caller back in the day, and he won one of the first smackoffs? On Jim Rome's OLD WEBSITE there used to be audio clips of all the smackoff winners. I think he got mad because Jim Rome started including a lot of non-sports material in his show(me personally, that is why I like Rome's show) JT will always try to take cheap shots at Rome, and then Rome has struck back a few times mocking the "It's YOUR SHOW CALLERS" schtick...

Tom Brady is a good QB, but you have to wait until his career is done before we can assess whether he is better then some of the HOF QBs out there. If Brady never happens to get to another Super Bowl, and has to play his years ahead on a .500 or sub .500 team, then people will quickly forget about his three championships. I am not saying Brady isn't great, but there is a reason why the HOF selection takes place five years AFTER retirement.

Whoa, where the hell have you been? Oh yeah, and I agree on your assesment above.

From Dave Meltzer:

Lets not forget the "You BOTH Suck" chant...

Reservoir Dogs: 15th Anniversary Edition

I have the Mr. Pink box that came out a couple of years ago. I am not sure I need anything beyond that, although I do admit the cover is badass. I wonder why more Region 1 DVDs don't get the badass packaging that international DVDs get... -
All we need now is a link to a thread where WWE marks can sit and circle jerk about DX's hijinks last night and how it was sooooo better then anything on EC-Dub. Seriously though, if you love Test and Knox so much, then you should be watching a replay of Raw or Smackdown rather then ECW.
-
You probably should've waited a little bit before you posted that, or atleast put it in spoiler tags. Now all the "super smart marks" in this thread will send you hate mail. Itd be more 'whiney' than 'hateful'..."Why did u have to tell us who the real father is? And stop pickin on WWE. Meany...dont watch it if dont like!" Okay...lets try this from a different approach... If you're Vince McMahon...you are going to do whatever is best for your business. Now, it's clearly obvious that there are more marks than smarks in the wrestling fanbase, so why would you want to intentionally put out a product that the majority of your fans won't like....you need to look at this from a business perspective and realize that a few hundred smarks online don't mean anything to vince....the important thing is that he is still making money and guys like DX and Cena are still drawing ratings and crowds. Well actually from a business standpoint, having a third night of WWE-style wrestling is certainly not a draw. Look at the ABYSSMAL performance of Saturday Night's Main Event, and other such smaller scale WWE shows through the years. WWE fans have obviously shown they have had their fill for the week with Raw and Smackdown. There is no instant draw right now like Austin or Rock where you can simply slap their mugs on a show anytime and people will watch. Now, with this knowledge Vince has a choice. Continue to cater to an audience that has shown they don't care for a third night of WWE, or try and market a show to the other wrestling fans out there that don't particularly watch WWE or ones that at least would like to see something different. You can use this show to draw fans away from other companies. Take their dollars away from their PPVs and DVDs and put those same dollars into your own pocket. And on top of that, who is to say the majority of fans don't like ECW? The last time I checked it wasn't that ECW wasn't marketed to everyone so much as the access to it was limited. Heyman's message was never "We only cater to smart marks" He just wanted to make a wrestling product that catered to the changing climate of the youth at the time, and he wanted the audience to be more a part of the change, that has nothing to do with locking out anybody. Hell I was a WWF and WCW/NWA fan far before ECW existed, and I didn't shun ECW when I saw it, I viewed it as an alternative, a good one at that, and throughout the 90's I continued to watch ALL THREE PROMOTIONS. Is it so hard to believe that you can be a fan of all three promotions as long as they are putting on an entertaining product?
-
I know WWECW is not going to let every match be "extreme rules" but shouldn't the Heavyweight Title Match ALWAYS BE "extreme rules" I mean it seems Vince is more hung up on making sure only one match per week gets to be "extreme rules" than making an entertaining show. Lets face it, as bad as putting TBS vs. Batista in front of an ECW crowd is, AT LEAST if it was "extreme rules" there might be a few spots throughout the match that would get some reaction from the fans.
-
So everyone, assuming RVD returns next week, how is he booked? Does he just have a straight match, a promo? Is he going to come out and want an immediate rematch? It seems pretty locked now that it will be Sabu vs. TBS at Summerslam, and if TBS wins, he might just be holding the title until December. Of course that leaves RVD, who upon his return will be expected by the fans, ECW and WWE alike to be in the Title picture from the get-go. Personally, I would have Sabu beat TBS at Summerslam, and then relegate TBS to an "enforcer" role, kind of like 911 was used. I know this reeks of hotshotting the title, but lets face it, TBS was never supposed to be the long-term champion anyway, it was supposed to be RVD as the champ well into next year, so I say just pick that up with a twist, and have RVD turn heel, ON SABU. I don't know about the rest of you, but I have grown tired of the face RVD, and would like to see a return of the Disrespectful Heel RVD. I know he will probably get cheered anyway, but who cares....?

The thing people need to understand is The Big Show doesn't draw nearly as much "Go Away" Heat, when he is actually taking on good workers. See his matches against RVD and Flair. During those matches the crowd accepted him just fine as a heel, however when the Big Show is up against other slugs who can't do much to carry Big Show to a decent match, the crowd knows it and doesn't want to see it. It's one thing to go and put the belt on The Big Show, but it's quite another thing for every week, some random WWE big guy just getting a shot at the ECW title for no reason, when they aren't even taking the time on WWE programming anymore to even setup a REASON why these guys are getting the title shot. Also, lets cool it with the "ECW fans are white trash" because the last time I checked, Prowrestling fans as a whole have plenty of white trash representation.
