  1. Were we watching the same game???? Zito had no command of the strike zone and no control whatsoever. There is a reason why he didn't last two innnings and it wasn't because of the ump. I know. Zito Sucked, Period. And the pitches I am referring to wouldn't have made that big of a difference, but he also threw a LOT of borderline pitches that the Ump just sat on his hands during, while Johnson was getting a lot of questionable "inside corner" calls.
  2. Well aint this just the typical start of the season for the Oakland Athletics. Not that Zito was good or anything, but I'll be damned if some of those pitches he threw were not strikes and the ump just sat there while Johnson would go and throw the same pitch and get a strike called. In what is now a totally lost game, at least Frank Thomas starts off his Oakland A's tenure with an exclamation point. Why did I take class off for Zito rather then Harden!?!
  3. So does RVD get a match tonight, or was he just in the Tiger Print tights for effect?
  4. Well hmm, I guess that pretty much confirms it. RVD vs. The WWE Champ at ONS II
  5. And if anyone still questions who calls the shots in WWE...........The Spirit Squad now have the Tag-Titles.
  6. The opening segment was fun, but why not add RVD to the mix when quite frankly he holds the cards in who truly gets a shot at the title. Lord knows when Edge had the MITB he had to remind us every single week. Plus WHY WHY WHY a handicap match? It seems more likely RVD is cashing his title shot in at ONS II, because if WWE actually wanted him to be a ME player in WWE, they would need him to start getting involved with the ME guys, and that opening segment would have been the PERFECT OPPURTUNITY.
  7. Well I am somewhat happy to hear this as I have class on Monday/Tuesday so the most I can see of these games is the last inning or so, but if the rain delays the game(s) at least an hour, then I will be seeing a good portion of them. Wednesday however, I will be home for the entire game.
  8. Not all entrepenuers are rich, but they are the ones creating the jobs. I'd argue that the creation of jobs is more important to the economy than the creation of wealth. Creation of wealth is meaningless if it doesn't get distributed. There are no perfect solutions in economics. Sometimes taxing people is good, sometimes its bad. Sometimes spending is good, sometimes its bad. Neither the Keynesians or the libertarian/supply-siders have been able to deliver us into economic Utopia. Free markets can be awesome things when you have a well-educated group of entrepenuers making rational decisions, but that doesn't always happen, so you need some regulation. And government decisions about economic policy can lead to a multitude of unintended consequences. Policy makers need to be pragmatic and look at situations on a case-by-case basis, instead of trying to apply blanket economic theories that never work all the time. Yeah well it's too bad America is turning into an Oligarchy that is ruled by the Wealthy Upper Class IE: A very small percentage of us. Elimination of the middle class is the goal.
  9. I didn't see this particular reply post, but I just commented on it. Check it out and tell me what ya think.
  10. The Trish/Mickie James match was good. Yeah it had a botched ending, but that doesn't ruin the entire match. I think it is good that finally WWE has found a new female that can work a match, has a compelling enough character to get over, and for the love of gawd does not have the typical look of a WWE Diva. I just hope they don't go and jump the shark and turn her face and ruin everything. Mickie could easily keep this character going by becoming infatuated with someone else or just get mad at because she is a "psycho" Mickie excelled where Victoria failed playing the psycho character because the brunt of Victoria's charatcer was "ooh look at me, I pull my hair out I am sooooooooo insane" while Mickie actually has character to her, because she can play a sweet innocent chick that can immediately turn crazy.
  11. Well the thing is that just isn't good enough, and is obviously not working. I mean you can get away with that when say 25% of the crowd is not behind you, but when 75% or more is not backing you, then as the "top face" you have to do more and be better. Of course as we have all witnessed leading up to WM, Triple did his hardest to make Cena fail by cutting Face-SmartAss style promos, and the "I am god, so it doesn't matter" promos. I mean if Triple H wanted to come off as a True Heel then he should do the type of things Taz would do during his super heel run, whenever small pockets of fans started cheering for him, you know a sizable enough portion that it could be picked up by TV audience, Taz would immediately rip into them and tel them he doesn't want their stupid cheers because blah blah and this, that and the other thing, but NOOOOO, what does Mr. Helmsley do? He acknowledges his cheers, plays up to the crowd, and therefore sabatoges the face.
  12. I don't know how much this has been mentioned already because I was watching the PPV with a bunch of friends, old and new(!!!) and I haven't had a chance to read through this entire thread but is it rather pathetic to anyone else the amount of damage control Jim Ross was trying to spew prior to the Cena match, talking about how "these fans are fans of tradition, so I bet they will favor Triple H" I am sorry but are you fucking kidding me Jim Ross? I guess that goes for just about every crowd in the past three months. What makes it more horrible is, it's not like the crowd actually liked Triple H, they just HATE Cena and think he is undeserving of the spot he has as the Raw Champ. I remember when NY turned on The Rock, but that was different, Rock was becoming stale and Brock Lesner was a more than ample Replacement for the spotlight, and the crowd knew it, and that is who they wanted. Opposed to last night when you could have replaced Triple H with about anyone and they still would have booed the hell out of Cena. I just think it was disgusting how Jim Ross tried to go WAY FUCKING OVERBOARD with trying to "explain" why Cena was going to get booed. Those 5-10 mintues could have been used better elsewhere.
  13. If we know Triple H at all, he will do his best, and probably succeed, at making Cena's win last night mean nothing. Lets not forget, Benoit beat him a couple of time and Triple H would barely acknowledge the losses without putting a list of asterixs after them. I can already hear the "Flash in a pan" and "everyone gets lucky, but you will never do it again" Raw Promo coming tomorrow night. I actually don't mind Cena retaining the belt, but personally I would like to see Cena turn heel. I mean the crowd already hates him, and since it is obvious by now that Triple H has no interest in playing a TRUE HEEL, rather he just wants to get his rocks off by being "the heel that cracks jokes and everyone likes" I'd say if they TURN CENA NOW, and just have him go off on the crowd about how it is his time and the he doesn't give a shit about the fans and never did, then maybe Raw could have a REAL HEEL locked in for awhile rather then a quasi-heel like Triple H. This would allow Triple H to continue to play his "I'm a heel, no I'm a face, no I'm a tweener" bullshit games while Raw can move forward at the same time and in spite of him.
  14. It was pretty good, though my main gripe with the show is that some of the better matches, like the MITB match seemed way to short in order to make time for the shit matches like Boogeyman/Booker T and/or the overbooked matches like the McMahon/HBK match.
  15. Does she have a pic available or something, or are people just blowing smoke out of their asses?
  16. I really question why Showtime didn't air the undercard of the Brewster/Liakhovich fight. I mean it would seem there would have been moderate interest in seeing Mesi fight again.
  17. It sucks somewhat for me. Living in Sacramento, I would routinely make the drive to Oakland, KNOWING there would be at least 10-15K tickets available for me when I get to the ticket window. I have a buddy (DangerousA) that lives in San Leandro, so I would routinely meet him at the Plaza Level ticket window, and we decide right on the spot how much we wanted to spend and where we wanted to sit. I mean it is a lot easier to have an actual person there who can look up seat locations rather then rely on the internet seating chart. Also with only about 34,000 Seats available daily, this makes it harder to get GOOD SEATS when walking up as opposed to just walking up and buying upper reserve. I think I read that now the Outfield Plaza Level seats will be the price that upper reserve seats used to be. You'd think they would UNTARP when needed for series like the opener, and the A's/Giants series, the August/September Playoff Implication Games, and ESPECIALLY the Playoffs(If Necessary) Other then the tarping issue, I am so damn excited for the season to start.
  18. No, I think the wealthy and the ultra-wealthy should start paying their fair share when it comes to taxes and civil responsibility. Never in the history of this country have the wealthy paid so little out of their egreous excess. To paraphrase Al Franken, "In the 1950's, we taxed the shit out of the rich." I bet somewhere out there, there's some rich little shit who got a tax exemption on his/her dog's personal groomer. InuYasha beat me to it.
  19. Ever been to KT Noodle in Rocklin? Damn good food at very good lunch prices. I usually get an order of shrimp/pork spring rolls with a side of peanut sauce, and the combo rice. Good stuff Also for vietnamese sandwhiches, Hau Loung(sp)? At about $2.50 a pop it is well worth it. Plus they have excellent pastries as well. There is one in roseville and south sac.
  20. 1. Italian 2. Thai 3. Vietnamese 4. Indian 5. American BBQ Memphis-style 6. Sushi I would probably rank Sushi higher if I ate it more. I really like it but it is just too damn expensive. I found this awesome Indian lunch Buffet called Bombay Bistro. Recommended to me by a coworker. God Bless the Indian Buffet for making me curious enough to try their chilled rice pudding. I guarantee if not for going there I would have never touched it. Awesome stuff.
  21. Don't a high percentage of pregnancies terminate in the womb very early on in the pregnancy?
  22. I think this fight agains raises real questions about Brewster. I mean the guys has HEART, he doesn't quit, but he never seems to fight smart fights or adapt to his opponent. Before this fight, and ignoring the Golota fight, his punching power has bailed him out almost always. Kind of like a poor-man's Tyson. (Well Tyson from another era that is)
  23. That's what I thought, too... He got lots of local pub in Buffalo, but I never thought he was anything on the national level. He only fought a bunch of scrubs, and whined constantly about how he wanted to fight Tyson, Rahman, etc... I'm surprised to even see a thread about him here. At the time of his injury, he was the #1 contender in the WBO for the heavyweight title. He may not have beaten many 'name' opponents, but the guy has a ton of market value due to his look. I dunno if people would care to see Roy Jones Jr. fight anymore. I know I certainly wouldn't, especially as a Heavyweight. And considering the 13th ranked russian guy just beat Brewster, I think Mesi has a chance be a factor again in the division. If you want a 'name' value fight that will sell... Joe Mesi vs Roy Jones Jr would make a ton of dough. People want to see Mesi fight a legit fighter, and Roy Jones will always be able to live off his name. Yeah but being the #1 contender means about a tenth of what it used to. Hell tonight Liakhovich came into his championship ranked# 13 and took the Heavyweight Champion to task. I am not sure how many people would be exited about RJJ fighting. Especially as a Heavyweight. Maybe they could throw Mesi in with Samual Peter.
  24. If that sounds okay to you, then you're a fucking moron. I can see some middle-aged lady complaining that the price of orange juice practically doubled, and then NoCalMike chimes in that it's okay because now the proletariat (and yes he'd have to refer to them as The Proletariat) doesn't have to starve just for her to get her daily Vitamin C. The cheap labor is hurting the lower income and mid-lower income workers. Those are the people who hurt the most from the illegal immigrants over-flooding the market place and making wages a bottomless pit. I don't necessarily have a problem with migrant workers, as there is a need for a number of them, however I just don't think it should be a free-for-all, we should assess what are market can handle and stop there.
  25. Well Showtime wins another round, this time in the heavyweight division. HBO gave us Toney vs. Rahman, and Showtime delivers one of the best HW fights in recent years, as Liakhovich upsets Lamon Brewster by Unanimous decision. Anyone else see this fight? After the snorefest that was Rahman/Toney, I'd definately rather see Liakhovich either give Brewster a rematch next, or fight the winner of Klitschko/Byrd.
