This is definately good news and something that will add to the ECW "feel" of the show.

Dirty victory or not, this fight will definately put Hatton on the map, however now he will become a bigger target in a weight division(and surround weight divisions) that are very deep. His ride has just begun, lets see how long he can hang on.

I don't disagree when some members on this board suggest that it is minority of soldiers participating in the torture/abuse/harrassment/whatever stuff, but then what makes matters worse and brings about more questions and doubt is when you have Alberto Gonzales the Attourney General, writing memos to the President how to get away with such things, and how to bend rules to make it not apply.

Is the ECW greatest matches DVD, a "volume 1" type of deal, because it could definately fill up more then 2 DVDs.

I don't think Hatton stands a chance. The youngster has talent but he has been far too protected up to this fight.

Ok so here is the situation. I am looking to get an LCD TV (HD Built-in) that is going to have a DVI connection at the least, but possibly DVI + HDMI. This will of course have me wanting to upgrade to an HD DVD player, with an HDMI input if possible. That takes care of the video aspects, however I am wondering what am I losing by having a surround sound system that does not feature HD inputs? Currently in my house we have a 5.1 Dolby/DTS system that is hooked into the tv which is a Sony Trinitron. I have my eye on a 7.1 Onkyo system that features component inputs, but since the receiver is for SOUND and not video, I really don't think it matters, as long as the Sound System appeals to me. I guess what I am asking is, does the surround sound receiver have any barring on the video? In otherwords, if I have an HD TV w/HD DVD Player, then as far as SEEING THE MOVIE, it will be HD quality, regardless of what the Surround Sound receiver quality is......right? I don't mind not having the BEST SOUND EVER, as most surround sound systems are pretty damn good regardless, but I just want to make sure I am not missing out on anything big by going with a Surround Sound receiver that does not have HD inputs......Thanks.

The only way Dunn's idea wins is if Vince truly wants ECW buried. If he ever hopes to do another PPV or keep the brand alive, he needs "ECW" to go over big initially.

I have never seen anything from Rahman that would suggest that he could take Vitali. Did you miss that punch he caught Lennox with in South Africa? I think he means besides the "Fluke factor" It's not simply about Rahman being that good of a fighter (he isn't), but rather of Vitali not being one either. An old, sloppy, out-of-shape Corrie Sanders hurt Vitali early in their fight (but couldn't put him down), and even as Sanders plodded around the ring throwing the occasional wild punch, Klitschko couldn't put him away until the more than midway through the fight. Rahman has exceptional power (amongst the best in the HW division), and though not a decent mover, has a good enough jab to not get consistently blasted at range like Danny Williams did. That alone is enough to give Vitali a shitload of problems. And though people like to talk about about Vitali's seemingly proven chin, he's been heavily rocked by out-of-shape, over-the-hill punchers before. However, none of that matters if Rahman is as lackluster as he normally has been over the past few years. Umm, Sanders never hurt Vitali, you need to rewatch the fight. When Vitali gets hit, he does the smart thing and gets out of trouble, unlike his brother who freaks out and doesn't know what to do. Vitali never drops people early because he actually tries to box, and work the ring smartly. In other words, he fights CORRECTLY for being a big tall oager of a man. He won't just punch for the sake of punching, and he paces himself and looks for openings. Not saying he is the greatest fighter or anything, but to me right now he is the cream of the crop of the sad heavyweight division until someone beats him.

Lawler is a deal-breaker simply because we would most likely have to hear "See JR, Extremely Crappy Wrestling, like I said all along" while Tajiri and Super Crazy are working a superb match in the ring.

I actually liked Bordello of Blood. Gory as hell, underrated as fuck.

Umm hello, they didn't break any new ground with that, it was all covered on the ECW DVD. Really though, no one expects to see ECW reborn at one night only, just some good nostalgia that if financially successful, could make it a re-occuring thing in the future.

So a team of Raw and Smackdown superstars are going to the ECW PPV? Anyone starting to wonder if there will be any time left over for some ECW stuff on the PPV?

I am going to order this off amazon, probably Friday.

Yep, that is all about HBO vs. Showtime. HBO has the stars, Showtime has the workrate. At least 75% of the time.

Brewster had a very good plan of attack for the fight. Golota just stood there in front of Brewster and took punch after punch, hoping to find an opening to hit back before getting KO'd. Brewster said it himself after the fight that Golota's plan or lack thereof sucked. Before people go licking Brewster's ass, look up and down at his record at some of the bums he has lost to. Vitali vs. Brewster would be intriguing, since Vitali likes to get revenge on fighters who KO his brother, but Vitali is kind of wrapped up for the year since he has a mandatory against the winner of Rahman/Barret, however after that, if Brewster is still around, I see Vitali/Brewster being a money-maker.

My theater was crazy, we had at least 10 storm troopers and 3 clone troopers, and someone in the full darth vader get up, complete with the FX light sabre. We also had some local media, and a radio station raffling off a bunch of prizes~! Oh yeah, the movie kicked ass......too tired for a big review.

I skipped out on Mastadon because there are so many good shows coming to town and I have to be kind of picky over how many of my certification classes I will miss. So far I have tickets for Deicide/Skinless/Immolation and in another month or so will be purchasing tickets for Suffocation/Crytopsy.....
