  1. I am not referring to anyone as anything, because clearly I did not know them, however I was just trying to get to the bottom of what exactly you classify as a "burnout" rather then assuming you consider any marijuana user(no matter how much or little) , just as I would not consider a mere alcohol user a DRUNK. Use and Abuse are too different things. The number of people who used pot without becoming dependant on it that I've known in my life can be counted on one hand. And I am a rather significant percentage of the people who pulled it off. -=Mike The number of people I know that use(d) pot that became or are currently dependent on it is zero. Of course, my circle of friends is much smaller then it used to be, so whatever. But I would like to know what exactly makes pot dependant. I mean, imagine waking up in the morning and NEEDING that joint in order to feel sleepy all over again!?! No, not being able to act like a sane person and relax to ANY degree without that shit. -=Mike ...Hell, I'd be TOTALLY gung-ho for legalization if I didn't loathe burn-outs so much... Ok, are you purposely ignoring my request to define what "burn-out" mean according to your own line of thinking?

  3. Haven't read PNAC yet? *tsk tsk*

  5. Well that and all three of them getting plastic surgery....they sure showed them who's boss!
  6. If you wish to argue that, then you're delusional. Go to your average dorm room. You'll see beer far more often than you see pot. I will guarantee that you're absolutely incorrect. Odd that when I was high school, getting kegs was never a problem. Getting some pot was. -=Mike Dude, don't you live in South Carolina? That can pretty much explain it right there. Also, I believe I was referring to highschool, which don't normally feature dorm rooms. You also aren't addressing the fact that you can get weed at school from fellow students, where as with alcohol, it is someone else getting it, therefore more effort, time and people are needed. Of course no one had a problem getting a keg, that wasn't what I was arguing, I even said it wasn't hard in my post to get beer perse, however the mere fact that I could buy weed off of another student between classes ON CAMPUS makes it more accessible. To get pot, you need to know somebody who has it. Which, believe it or not, a lot of people don't KNOW anybody who smokes pot. Knowing somebody who drinks is a far better prospect. Just because YOU knew tons of burn-outs doesn't mean most people do. -=Mike Can you define a "burnout" please, because I am not exactly sure that highschool kids have put in the time or the amount of weed to be declared burn-outs, unless to this day they are still smoking as much as they did then, and that of course I wouldn't know since I only have constant contact with three people from highschool. I mean is it fair or accurate to say "Just because you knew a lot of DRUNKS" In an effort to demonize one activity over another!?!

  8. Ask Paula Jones, Linda Tripp, or Katherine Harris about how that feels. -=Mike wouldn't that kind of come off as rude to ask them that though?
  9. Correct, because they would NEVER just sell pure marijuana plant, they would nicotine to it most likely to make it PHYSICALLY ADDICTING.
  10. I would definately argue that weed is "harder to find then alcohol" Seriously, what is more likely to be in a student's backpack at school or in his back pocket, a bag of weed or a 6-pack of beer? Not only was weed much more available to students in highschool, but it was easier to move, easier to transport, and the thing that made more convenient is that you didn't have to go find someone that was 21 or over and convince them to buy you it. Of course there was always the "raid the parent's liquor" option, but that seemed to get old, fast. Weed might be harder to access for someone who has no experience in ever getting it before, therefore coming off looking like a narc to fellow students, but I know for a fact that students were more likely to have weed in their pocket then beer in their car. Not saying it was "hard" to get alcohol most of the time, but it was definately a mission, and you had to hassle someone to do it, and it was NEVER a sure thing, unless you had a cool older brother or something.
  11. Amazing how she is treated by the media because she is "unattractive" Yet the hearts and minds of all the suburbianites across america basically stopped waiting in anticipation for the Scott Peterson verdict. See, we can't have this hear end up looking like England wasn't acting on her own, no no, we need some more folks to come forward and roll over on private england so it can be squashed while punishing the lowest ranking person possible.
  12. http://music.yahoo.com/ar-282265-videos--ECW Anyone ever hear/watch this before? I am not sure which ECW CD it is from, but the song is decent and the video is a huge montage of ECW highlights through the years, plus some of the workers singing along to the song in the studio. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Spike Dudley, he stays in character even when recording.......HILARIOUS.
  13. If you look in most classified sections of local indy papers, there is always ads for escort services and even girls who work out of their own homes.
  14. Actually I don't. I smoked once in awhile when I was younger at parties and social gatherings, and I haven't sworn it off or anything, but with me constantly changing jobs it isn't worth the risk of failing a drug test over weed, especially when there is still beer/alcohol. EDIT:Ok maybe more then "once in awhile" but I was never an everyday "wake and bake" person.
  15. How about that there's no real reason to not legalize compared to some of the stuff on the market today? Pot has got to be healthier than those now-pulled Limbaugh pain pills. Except Limbaugh's pills were prescribed pain medication and not something burn-outs smoke to make them bigger idiots than usual. And, again, OTHER things being legal that aren't good for the country is a piss-poor excuse to legalize this. -=Mike but couldn't one agree that both, used in moderation cause little to no harm, and the fact that both, under the right moderation offer effective medicinal use?
  16. I have always wanted a subscription to Fangoria, but damn is it expensive compared to other mags.
  17. So marijuana can cause brain malfunctions, but Prozac and Ritalin are perfectly fine for a kid that is a little too figity?
  18. So putting Lita & Edge together on-air, will naturally lead to one of them cheating on the other.
  19. I think it all comes down to the fact that while yes, we are putting more and more up into the atmosphere, C02 is such a shitty, shitty greenhouse gas, and that it accounts for so very very little, that C02 emissions is just really an environmental McGuffin. I think that's what everyone but you and NoCal seemed to have realized. And again, this study proves shit unless it goes as far back to something like the Middle Ages so we can get an accurate picture of what's going on. Well what does CO2 gas to for the quality of breathing air though? There are more issues relating to having filthy air then just global warming. Plenty of reasons are out there to want to cut down on things we can control, so we are better prepared to handle the things we cannot control.
  20. *CLASSIC FREDDY MOMENT REVISITED* NOES 4: Pepperoni Soul Pizza........LOL.
  21. Lets keep the thread going. Has anyone seen any behind-the-scenes specials on NOES 1? It is simply amazing how cheaply they had to make the effects and gags, and yet it turned out so wonderful, and then you see today's modern day horrors relying on stupid CGI for everything. It seems all the Masters of Horror have gone overseas or back to the indy scene. Also, after viewing Part 2 again, my disdain has vanished. Granted the movie changes a lot up and is a very different movie then the rest of the series, but it still has some very good sequences in it, and the fact that Jesse is dealing with the Freddy problem pretty much alone, rather then in a group of teens like the other sequels, gives it good atmosphere.
  22. *Not ignoring the point*
  23. I like how Franken is "full of shit" yet Coulter is merely "expousing conservative beliefs" .......just saying
  24. Who cares if you like him. I mean big deal, everyone likes what they like. Of course your comment about him being this era's michael jackson is quite a bit upsetting as today's michael jackson is probably stuck on some indy station that gets 128 listeners.
  25. Well news hit that D!sh is adding the recently deceased VOOM HD channels to their HD package, one of which is the awesome Monsters HD channel, so now I am kind of leaning towards an HD TV. Of course paying $400 for a receiver and $9.99/mo just to have the privelage to watch HD programming is not to appealing.
