  1. So I guess we can thank Heyman for this match as it was him that had to argue his ass off to the writers to do this instead of Angle/UT.
  2. I am just afraid of the day that the retail price is released. I only own a PS2, but was never opposed to getting an Xbox, I just never did due to the lack of time I have for gaming now, however I won't buy another console until the next-gen consoles are released, but I just dunno if I am prepared to pay over $500 for a video game machine and over $50 for games, sure they can do other things and stuff, but I just don't care, to me they are for playing video games, and I don't like the idea of having to pay the price I would pay for a brand new computer, fully loaded.
  3. You didn't figure that out when he did nothing but bash Bush for 4 years and then started kissing his ass from the GOP Convention to the election and then went right back to bashing him again? Well actually if you have seen my posts I never really though McCain was any better, however there those on this board who did. I was highly critical of his "hot/cold" stances on Bush.
  4. 2 Bedroom apartments in Sacramento cost on average $750-$850 depending on location, and whether it comes with any perks or not, such as washing machine and dryer in each unit. If you travel a mile westward towards the Bay Area, oh man, I am afraid to look up the prices......ugh.
  5. I honestly wouldn't mind leaving the UN, being as it they seem useless in most areas, but the only problem then is how do we use the fake argument of "hey man, you aren't complying with the UN, we are invading" I mean even though WE don't listen to the UN anyway, at least our name is listed there so we can try and argue that other countries have to listen to them as well. If we get up and officially leave them, then won't it be hard to try and hold anyone else to UN sanctions that they end up ignoring anyway........oh wait, yeah umm......LOL.
  6. Senate Will Likely Fight Over Bush UN Pick Tue Mar 8,12:01 PM ET U.S. National - AP By ANNE GEARAN, AP Diplomatic Writer WASHINGTON - John Bolton, President Bush (news - web sites)'s pick to be the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations (news - web sites), once said it wouldn't matter if 10 stories of the world body's 38-story headquarters simply vanished. The 56-year-old also has said he does not believe in diplomacy for its own sake, and keeps a model of a hand grenade on his desk at the State Department. Democrats are gathering an arsenal of material, much of it from Bolton's own writings and speeches, and predicted a tough confirmation fight in the U.S. Senate. Bolton's critics do have a lot to work with, indeed. Bolton is known as brilliant, prolific, obstinate and mouthy. He isn't much for small talk, or for the blurry language common to diplomats. In 1994, he attacked the very institution he would now join. "There is no such thing as the United Nations," he said in a speech. "There is an international community that occasionally can be led by the only real power left in the world, and that is the United States." Bolton, currently the State Department's arms control chief, would succeed the comparatively mild-mannered John Danforth, a former senator and an ordained minister. Bolton's nomination is somewhat out of step with Bush's second-term emphasis on partnership and cooperation with European allies and with a recent detente in the administration's squabbles with the U.N. bureaucracy. He is a leading hawk in discussions about nuclear ambitions in Iran (news - web sites) and North Korea (news - web sites). Two years ago, Bolton denounced North Korean leader Kim Jong Il as a "tyrannical dictator," at a time when the official State Department line was much more accommodating. Furious, a North Korean spokesman said that "such human scum and bloodsucker" would be closed out of negotiations over the country's nuclear weapons program.
  7. umm....wha wha WHAT? There are actually apartments left in this country that cost $400/mo for a 3 Bedroom apartment? Hell, out here $400 a month wouldn't even buy a broom closet.
  8. Which is truly stunning news. -=Mike Yeah, a real GROUNDBREAKING piece of news here.......about as shocking as finding out all the special interest money Arnold received.
  9. Looks like McCain is just like all the rest......
  10. Haliburton's actions in Iraq are way besides the point of a potential link to Dick Cheney or not. It isn't even the same issue. Next time Bush wants us to fork over 80 billion dollars, much of which is obviously funding haliburton's operation, do you think it might be wise to make sure none of it is going towards their efforts in Iran? I mean shouldn't this be something that a company should be punished for?
  11. on a sidenote, it looks like Lita's tits grew again.
  12. We may have found a match that will be worse then Savage(subbing for Goldberg) vs. Rick Steiner in Japan.
  13. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7119752/ How do U.S. contractors legally do business there?By Lisa Myers & the NBC investigative unit Updated: 6:29 p.m. ET March 7, 2005It's just another Halliburton oil and gas operation. The company name is emblazoned everywhere: On trucks, equipment, large storage silos and workers' uniforms. But this isn't Texas. It's Iran. U.S. companies aren't supposed to do business here. Yet, in January, Halliburton won a contract to drill at a huge Iranian gas field called Pars, which an Iranian government spokesman said "served the interests" of Iran. "I am baffled that any American company would want to have employees operating in Iran," says Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine. "I would think they'd be ashamed." Halliburton says the operation — videotaped by NBC News — is entirely legal. It's run by a subsidiary called "Halliburton Products and Services Limited," based outside the U.S. In fact, the law allows foreign subsidiaries of U.S. corporations to do business in Iran under strict conditions. Other U.S. oil services companies, like Weatherford and Baker Hughes, also are in Iran. And foreign subsidiaries of NBC's parent company, General Electric, have sold equipment to Iran, though the company says it will make no more sales. (MSNBC is a Microsoft-NBC joint venture.) Still, Halliburton stands out because its operations in Iran are now under a federal criminal investigation. Government sources say the focus is on whether the company set out to illegally evade the sanctions imposed ten years ago. "I am formally announcing my intention to cut off all trade and investment with Iran," announced President Bill Clinton in 1995. Sources close to the Halliburton investigation tell NBC News that after that announcement, Halliburton decided that business with Iran, then conducted through at least five companies, would all be done through a subsidiary incorporated in the Cayman Islands. "It's gotten around the sanctions and the very spirit and reasons for the sanctions," says Victor Comras, a former State Department expert on sanctions. For Halliburton to have done this legally, the foreign subsidiary operating in Iran must be independent of the main operation in Texas. Yet, when an NBC producer approached managers in Iran, he was sent to company officials in Dubai. But they said only Halliburton headquarters in Houston could talk about operations in Iran. Still, Halliburton maintains its Iran subsidiary does make independent business decisions. Why should Americans even care if U.S. companies circumvent the sanctions? "The purpose of these sanctions is to dissuade Iran from supporting terrorism and from seeking to acquire weapons of mass destruction," says Comras. There's a move in Congress to close the loophole. "We don't want American companies propping up a government that's dedicated to our destruction," says Sen. Collins. Halliburton says it is unfairly targeted because of politics, but recently announced it is pulling out of Iran because the business environment "is not conducive to our overall strategies and objectives." However, that exit will be slow. Halliburton announced it was leaving Iran only three weeks after Iran announced the lucrative new gas deal, which industry sources say will take three years to complete.

  18. Could you post the nytimes article, cause you have to be registered to view it, and I am at work and all so, umm..yeah....
  19. Cool, I think I am going to pick it up tonight. Anyone play online at all yet? I have already read horror stories about people going up against either people that are REALLY good, or have figured out glitches, because their opponent basically does 1-punch knockdowns with every punch...... I am gonna get the game tonight as long as Frys still has copies in. For those that have it on PS2, lets start a league or something.
  20. I am at work and can't access game sites because they are stopped by the filter here. Can someone tell me when this game comes out? I thought it was this tuesday, but it seems a bunch of people already have it. Maybe it came out last week!!?
  21. I never go into a drive-thru unless either I know exactly what I want, or it is so off of peak hours that no one else is around.
  22. I am a Maryland fan, so I dislike UNC, but DETEST Duke.
  23. Sometimes I wonder how certain teachers, staff, and faculty get their jobs in the first place.
  24. And that is a shame. It really is. But the credit companies did their job and deserve compensation for their services. -=Mike At the same time though, the credit card companies know damn well when they are locking low-wage earners into a life-time worth of debt in the form of a plastic card, they know what they are getting into, and the 90% chance that these clients have absolutely no chance of managing and/or making an adequate payment on a monthly basis.
  25. is there a trailer online.....linkage?
