They don't receive the same benefits under civil unions. His point being he'd be for that. Me? I don't care. Married, fine whatever. Civil Union, fine whatever. Just tired of hearing "God", "The bible", and stuff like that as the only reason they shouldn't be allowed to be married. If someone has reasons beyond God and the bible for why they don't want gays married, I'd love to hear them. Hell, I'd even have much more respect for people who have reasons instead of a book not everyone on the planet worships or gets married too. Actually using "god" or "bible" as an argument at all would be ridiculous, since I can become an ordained minister of my very own made up religion, for I believe $35 and some paperwork downtown, and thus I could make up my own "holy book" saying that it is perfectly ok for gays to get married. The Marriage aspect, may very well be a religious conotation, but the civil union itself, which garners rights to a couple has NOTHING TO DO WITH RELIGION, it has to do with the state, and if we allow domestic partnership benefits, why not allow civil unions, and then if a church wants to marry gay couples, which some are completely willing to do, then allow them to do so.

Pride/UFC related to wrestling? WTF....maybe slightly but not enough to hold up in court I bet.

Consistent Dominance over a decade trumps 3 titles in 4 years, IMO. The 49ers won four titles in the 80's but were also in the hunt just about every year they didn't actually win it. Just like the Skins were as well, coming away with 3 titles, and one loss in the Superbowl title, over a 12 year period. The Pats on the otherhand failed to make the playoffs in their non-SB winning season, and with FA, could get dismantled relatively soon. It also stands to be recognized that the competition was a lot more fierce in the 80's and early 90's, as often 10-6 didn't even get you into the playoffs a lot of the time, and the teams themselves were just better overall. Watching playoff football was watching greatness with two great teams battling it out, not the best of a sorry bunch which the NFC has become lately.

Coach K gets restraining order against Dick Vitale
NoCalMike replied to therealworldschampion's topic in Sports
Hell, have you guys seen Vitale lately? I'd almost bet the story was true, if I wasn't already well rounded in false internet satirical news....hehehe. DUKE SUCKS BAYBEE, GO TERPS. -
Don't forget about Gibbs' Redskins of the 80's & very early 90's. Still among a mere handful of coaches to have 3 rings. The Redskins teams of that era were consistant winners in probably the toughest division in the history of football, until the present time.

Nope, it isn't that incident. Has nothing to do with it. It was a hotel, with international press, not local arab reporters. I know what you are referring to, and it isn't that at all. And Justice, this isn't a conspiracy theory buddy. A Coalition tank fired on a hotel with nothing in it but journalists. The reason given was that the tank was "fired upon by machine guns" and they were returning fire, after initially the reason given was that the tank "misfired" . When asked why the tank was there in the first place with it's cannon pointed at the hotel, no answer was given, besides "hot spot" It never ceases to amaze me how naysayers resort to "OMG CONSPIRACY THEORY" when they hear or read or see things they have no intention to want to know about or believe are true. Oh and for the record. Read the initial post in this thread. There is an article suggesting that international reporters deaths may not be accidental. Notice, I didn't post that or start the thread. I am simply adding to the thread with something I saw in a documentary covering the same topic as the thread starter. Once I get off work I can try and look up the specific incident I am referring to.

I will try, but right now I am at work, so it may have to wait for about four hours until I get home and can actually put an effort into the search.

Honestly, I don't mind tipping, but for those pizza places that charge for delivery, they know damn well that extra charge is going to affect the tip.

"Who didn't throw in" "Mr. Pink" "Why Not?" "He doesn't Tip" "Whadda ya mean he don't tip" "He doesn't believe in i..." "Shut uuuuuuup"

I remember watching it as a kid everyday, however I don't remember enough about the actual show to remember if it was actually any good, or it was just a case of a young kid being entertained by a guy in an orange suit, acting a'fool. Help me out here........

Had it not been for the Redskins' teams of the 80's, the 49ers quite possibly would have about 3 more Superbowl titles. I believe the Redskins were 4-2 against the 49ers in the playoffs during the 80's. The 49ers get Team of the 80's because they won four, but the Redskins were surely right behind them, winning 3 superbowls, while appearing in 4, and actually appeared in the playoffs more then the 49ers during that span. Of course winning the titles is what counts the most, EOS. Had the Skins beat the Raiders in 83, which would have given them back to back SB wins, and four SB wins during their run, they would have probably at least had to been considered equals to the 49ers-Walsh dynasty. Although the Skins 3rd was in '92 though, I look at dyansties more in the respect of the length of their run, moreso then a "decade" consideration. The Pats have won 3 of 4, but in today's league it is reasonably expected that they don't win anymore for awhile and even miss the playoffs next season. Dynasties of old, lasted a decade. Dominance over the period of a decade, that produced titles in the process. It is also reasonable to look at the current NFL and say a single GREAT team can have an easier time winning because of the overall metiocrity of the NFL. I mean in the 80's there were a LOT of GREAT TEAMS that either didn't make the playoffs and/or lost in the playoffs. These days, merely "good" teams make it to the NFC Championship.

In the documentary "Weapons of Mass Deception" they showed some footage of a Coalition Tank, across the street from a journalists hotel, with the cannon pointed at the hotel. It fired on the hotel, killing two or three international journalists. The Coalition said it "misfired on accident" but questions queries into why the Tank was there with the cannon aimed at the hotel in the first place, were never answered. EDIT: my bad, I just remembered, the Coalition claimed that machine guns were fired onto the tank, but after several reviews of the camera footage, it was pretty clear no such "machine gun" fire took place. Also, it still stands to be questioned why the tank was there pointed at the hotel in the first place.

Zab reclaimed his spot with the revenge fight. Spinks was clamouring for a 3rd fight but after this fight and the fact that Judah, was on the brink of KOing Spinks in the first fight, I don't think Judah has anything more to prove against Spinks, and I feel he should move on.

RVD is not the MAIN reason people paid for ECW, unless you are just talking about 2001 and/or the TNA era of ECW. ECW was IMO, at it's best from about mid 1995 right up to when Raven left. That was entirely before RVD became a big name in ECW, and he was in the midcard, having entertaining matches of course, but he wasn't the focal point at all.

I am just paranoid that if the remakes are made before Evil Dead, 4 and the remakes don't do "good" in the theaters, that the studios will balk on Evil Dead 4. I mean, the studios better expect some sort of backlash regarding the remakes since they will be made with no Bruce Campbell.
-
I was thinking about it, but with 2 superbowl threads already in plain sight, I figured I could just include this topic within one of the two threads.

I see no reason in hell why either part 1 or 2, or AOD needs to be remade, as each still feels special when watched, and the sfx are just fine for my liking. Add to that the movies still have the "cool" factor for the new generation of youngsters who are discovering it for the first time. It's not like the original Dawn of the Dead, where it is getting harder and harder to convince each new generation how great it is.(but that is an entire different discussion). Oh and here is the interview with Sam Raimi, or the exerpt that I pasted from www.horrorchannel.com via bloody-disgusting. http://www.horrorchannel.com/dread/modules...article&sid=869 I guess "skeptical" is the best word to describe how I felt when I read this news story over on Bloody Disgusting, but perhaps "hopeful" is better? I’m not sure. In an interview about Boogeyman, which opens in theaters on Friday, both Sam Raimi and Rob Tapet confirmed that not only will there be an Evil Dead remake, done by new talent with a new script, but Evil Dead 4 is moving forward, which Raimi will direct and produce. "This is the project I really want to make." Raimi said "The remake can belong to someone else, but part 4 will be a continuation of the original". Something just doesn’t seem right about this, but maybe it’s just that Raimi’s been saying "no Evil Dead 4" for so long that it’s hard to believe he’s going ahead with it. And yes, Bruce Campbell will return, with Ted (Raimi) and Sam writing the script. Now, the real question is, why the hell would Sam do this when he’s got a Spider Man franchise to deal with? Maybe because he can...

Someone should make a thread regarding an average player having a huge superbowl performance, which leads them to a big FA contract, and then they end up sucking the rest of their career. Larry Brown comes to mind, signing with the Raiders after he INT'd O'Donnell twice on throws that were right to him, LOL. Being a Skins fan, my #1 goes to Timmy Smith who I believe rushed for just about 200 yards against the Broncos in his first start ever in the NFL, and then going on to be a bust the next couple of years and then never being heard from again.

Isn't it kind of pointless ranking a farm system on ONE PROSPECT? I think Oakland's farm league is overall the best.

Since Heyman has exhausted his on-screen presence, there is only one answer to who will be the best Smackdown GM............................ . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . BILL ALPHONZO~!

And my response to that is...so? Would you rather this 400 pound, pretty ugly dude, who can write poetry well (aka write great songs) be the one on the album cover, and at public appearences, etc. (Well, you might say yes, but yea..) we all know it's mainly about image. You must be marketable. And not necassarily all writers are that..so why not put someone else in front. This may be a bad example...but sort of like Geico. There's 100's/1000's I dunno, people working for/with that company. And yet really, all anyone ever remembers is the Gecko. Just like, there may be 20-50 guys helping 50 cent write his songs...but all anyone ever remembers, is, well 50. Just like.. You act like the choice out there is 400 lb gorilla OR Ashlee Simpson. I am sure there is about 1,000,000,000,000 choices between the two, and it is not an either/or situation. Hell Meat Loaf of all people was marketable....lol. The problem is that the general public, not excluding myself as well, does not demand excellence in entertainment, that is the problem. The reason crap like Ashlee Simpson thrives, is because people eat it up. Of course how hard is it to impress 12 year olds that you are a punk?

"ass to ass" from Requiem for a Dream. The whole scene with the business men with the flashlights and all that. Also, the look on Jennifer Connelly's face after she gets her smack, and lays on the couch coddling it like a new born baby....lol. Spiders attack human in The Beyond. The damn head growing spider legs and those eyeball antennas and crawling away, in The Thing, that isn't so much creepy or disturbing, but it just gave me the "willies" The "vomit of the innards" from Gates of Hell. The rape scenes from "I spit on your grave"

I dunno if it was because I was so young at the time, but the initial UT face turn, where he stopped a valet from getting blasted by a chair as she came through the curtain. That shocked me. The Mega Powers exploding on Saturday Nights Main event gave me one of those "nooo, you guys are the best ever, don't fight" feelings, when I was a kid.

Hippie pseudo-Indian. Oddly, I did a Google search for a pick of this guy and two pictures from the University of Colorado's Web site that were on Google couldn't be found. I wonder why... Oh man, that pic is much more flattering then the one I saw. It was one of those black and white photo, that for some reason makes an otherwise normal looking person, look like a hardened criminal/child molester. You know what I'm talking 'bout.

That's a fine thing to say, considering that the Taliban was using a sporting event arena, namedly a soccer stadium, to carry out public executions in. If this Awad guy is coming to come into this argument, thinking his shit don't stink, he might as well "get right back on the boat." Well it is important to win public support of the country you are actively dropping bombs on, I would say...eh? I mean, like I said, I don't really have a problem with that guy said in the context it was said, but if I was an Afgani, I might not be thrilled that soliders think shooting people is "fun"
