  1. Considering Bush once had one of the highest approval ratings of all time, the answer is yes. Ok please ignore the post 9/11 approval rating when no one wanted to question anything, and basically walking around the streets of NY was good enough.
  2. Oh for those that didn't know the 2nd game in the trio "Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando" is now on PS2s greatest hits which means $20
  3. lets not forget Lindsay Lohan just put out a cd.....
  4. OJ took solice in the fact that he wasn't the most hated Simpson in the building that night.
  5. Lest you forget, Bush's approval ratings skyrocketed above 90% in the weeks following 9/11 and stayed I believe around 70% before the Iraq war. Was it that long ago? Yes Bush's approval rating skyrocketed in the post 9/11 era of "don't question anything the government says or does in this new era" However why don't you go revisit his job approval immediately before 9/11. He was not very well liked, and pre-9/11 it was pretty much agreed he was mishandling the economy. It took awhile for people to shake off the whole "uh-oh we aren't special patriotic people if we question Bush" effect to wear off, but it did.
  6. Why am I not suprised? Rush was speculating today that Kerry wants to disassociate himself from this whole fiasco because he seriously wants to run again in '08. Yeah, like that will put butts in the voters booth. I guess Gore went through the same thing before coming to his senses (sort of). "Rush was speculating" was about as far as I got.
  7. The problem with most "God" channels is that that they are God according to the religious right.
  8. Crossfire in the current format was the best when they would get someone on like Nader or Jon Stewart that would basically berate both the hosts and turn the audience on BOTH OF THEM, and the hosts had to act like the audience was just playing along. It was hilarious.
  9. I believe the "global test" was referring to a war like the Iraqi war, where WE STARTED THE BOMBING, as opposed to the Afgan war, where we were attacked first and acted in a form of self defense. I think Kerry made it pretty damn clear from the beginning that if we are attacked or threatened etc....of course he is not going to sit back and wait for approval, but when it comes to a war that we just want to decide to start, we need to go and recruit some type of legitamite coalition or at the least TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT WHY WE ARE GOING TO DO IT so that the burden is not going to fall 90% on our soldiers and our citizens to fund. The whole "global test" clusterfuck was another example of the masses being swayed into arguing over a non-point.
  10. Well that will happen when you have billions to fund your own campaign.
  11. Oh and the Ohio recount was only a recount of 3% of the ballots in which it included a cheat sheet on how to make it come out the same as the electronic voting machine tally, and big suprise here, it STILL came out different.
  12. First of all why are we even arguing about the popular vote in 2004 compared to 1996, considering the political climate was very different this time around. I would venture to say in 1996 a lot less people overall voted, yet when asked to take a poll Clinton was easily never below a 70% job approval rating. And no I will not stop on the the "voter fraud" thing since one of our very basic rights as citizens and as a "democratic" country is the right to a safe and fair vote.
  13. After the democrats showed themselves to be total fat pussies today, I don't know why any "progressive" democrat would ever vote for one of them again.
  14. You should feel that way: after all, it's YOUR money, YOU earned it. NoCalMike's crippled buddy isn't your burden. Actually NO, Social Security is not YOUR money. Just like paying car insurance doesn't make it your money. I mean you don't pay into car insurance and then when you stop driving or get rid of that car, call up and ask Geico for all the money you paid in. The money paid into Social Security is not YOURS, get it? You have ever option out there to take some of your paycheck and invest it in stocks, bonds, 401k etc....but that has nothing to do with Social Security tax.
  15. I think the reason the audience is supposed to be laughing is because the audience is supposed to be realizing that Jack is using a word that has racist undertones. That is the whole point.
  16. well the fact that it is being reported, should get Condaleeza Rice a head start and a heads up, and so this time we won't get "who would have ever thought in their wildest dreams this could happen" as an explanation for being asleep at the wheel.
  17. Supposedly, there are a few Senators that will sign the challenges this time around though, which would in essence force the the government to vote for Bush which would happen since they have the majority in the house, but think about it, that would make it TWO TERMS for Bush where the people did not vote him in and the government did. I guess the reason last time Gore urged the Senators not to sign was because Gore knew if that happened he would be the Senator to break the tie and he didn't want to be put in the situation to vote himself into office, whereas this time Kerry is not in that position, and isn't even showing up as he sent out emails urging people to fight the fight, even though he won't even be there, lol. Quite frankly ever Democratic senator should sign their name to the challenge papers if they truly believe in their hearts that there was voter fraud going on, not only in Ohio but Nationally, and not even just necessarily hurting Kerry, but for either side. I mean think about it, you had people working their ass off to get Kerry elected, and with all the widespread accounts of voter fraud, the least you can do is something as simple as sign a goddamn piece of paper to show your support and appreciation and show all these people that it IS WORTH voting.
  18. The most depressing thing about the State of the State was the fact that Arnold S. was giving it. Really, how could this state be so duped?
  19. Well being that I am never home to watch it anymore. Oh well.
  20. As liberal as I am, I can pretty much be somewhat entertained by conservative radio most of the time. Hannity though is the one I really can't stand because he doesn't spend much time breaking down issues, it is more just general attack statements about "omg liberals = america haters" and he has to go and name every event he puts on with such a pro-america name almost to insinuate that if you aren't at the event participating and giving money, it is obviously because you hate america.....ugh. I have listened to Larry Elder a few times and he used to be a libertarian but I think he finally just went and converted to republican, but his show is entertaining because he actually brings liberals or at least somewhat liberal minded people on and debates them without cutting their mic off. I prefer finding politicial radio hosts/shows that don't have an affiliation to a party. Like for the right, Savage, for the center Pete Wilson(a guy in San Francisco on KGO) and for the left, I guess Mike Malloy is somewhat like that as he claims to be a progressive democrat yet I swear he is about to leave the party. I listen to Air America at work sometimes and while I agree with a lot of the views, it just irks me that at the end of the day the station is still nothing more then a "democrat" shill machine, instead of a liberal radio station. It often feels like they want to break out of the shilling shells, but they are afraid to.
  21. So I guess they finally completed a hand recount of the ballots and the Democrat won. So instead of conceding, the Republicans are now demanding that the state get to re-vote. I don't even know why they are asking for this besides the fact that they lost. Funny how I doubt any of them would have supported Flordia revote in 2000 even though there was plenty of fraud going on, along with Ohio in 2004 with probably even more cases of fraud brought up.
  22. Clear Channel just signed a multimillion dollar deal with Sean Hannity. I think Sean Hannity is the worst of the bunch. Savage is insane but entertaining, Rush, well, he USED to be creative. Hannity to me seems like he is just interested in repeating the same line over and over for 3hrs. All he seems interested in doing is calling anyone not in full, unabashed support of Bush, a bad american.
  23. On the radio today they were talking about how Ashlee Simpson basically got famous because of her MTV show, and they also said MTV didn't even want to give her a show but her manager(her Dad) who also happens to be Jessica's manager said that unless Ashlee was given a show, he would stop negotiating Newlyweds for a 2nd season, so MTV caved. Also, when people ask why Ashlee keeps getting all these public forums for her talentless-hack-ass, the answer is simple. Whoever owns her recording studio, probably owns ABC or NBC or both or holds a lot of ties to either or both. With that being said, when a recording studio dumps over 20 million into promoting an artist, I don't think they will be too happy to sit back while that money goes down the drain as their "star" bombs horribly. As long as the same companies own music/tv/movies/radio etc....we will continue to see this bullshit. Ashlee Simpson is one of many, she just happens to be the first one that fucked up on a grand stage.
  24. A guy from another msgboard said his band tried out for the show and when you try out you sign this big long contract and in bold words it says "THIS IS NOT A TALENT CONTEST" lol.
  25. Crimson and Lomas. You two are missing the point of Social Security. Think of it like a social security net aka INSURANCE, since that is exactly what it is. It is not a trust fund for YOU. Just like Insurance, you pay in, and keep paying in, and if you are fortunate, you will not need it until you retire if even then. Now your best friend that gets crippled in a car accident will probably need it because he can never work again, and that is what social security is for, or at least one of the things it is for. People seemed utterly confused about how Social Security works and why it is a necessary entity in american society in it's current form. Like I said, if guys like Bush were so concerned about the funding for it, they would stop STEALING FROM IT, to fund other things like tax cuts.
