Mary-Kate Olsen to be treated for eating disorder.

those pics are just DISGUSTING.....troll dolls always looked better with a tummy anyways. YUCK..... -
well in Leon(The Professional), there were a few sexual tension scenes between Matilda and Leon, that were cut out of the U.S. theatrical version in order to get an R rating. I recommend the Uncut, International version, as it includes ALL the scenes back RESTORED INTO THE MOVIE and not just on some list in an extras menu.

Wins & Losses are not as important in WWE as perception. Benoit can rack up all the wins he wants, but the truth of the matter is, Triple H has managed to make sure himself and HBK thus far have been the main focal point of RAW's ME scene. I swear the title seems to just be a hood ornament on Benoit's shoulder as his status on Raw hardly screams champion. There is no reason we should be hearing from Triple H 3-4 times a show. This isn't being done on accident either.

I did, and I never thought I'd say a film that stars Denzell and Rob Duvall would suck so badly... The film had a lot of flaws, especially the fact that John didn't stop to wonder if a guy ahead of his son on the list decided to do the same thing. I mean the movie was just one big exaggeration. It was ok if you could suspend reality.

Every time you raise the minimum wage, you raise the cost of inputs into goods which then increase their prices necessitating increasing the wage. *sigh Okay, One last time. We cannot create a wage that the market doesn't create. We cannot create a wage floor and expect for there to be no side effects. The very fact that you, or anyone, thinks they can determine the "just wage" better than the whole hand of the market speaks to ignorance of mathematics, probability, statistics, calculus, do I need to go on? Any attempt at wage and price controls has either reduced a country's economy to rubble, stagnated it, or when relaxed led to massive inflation in the following periods. Invest into education and other human capital goods to raise the wage rate. Do not raise it on an artificial basis. Do not tell an employer to employ someone who only produces $6.00 worth of output for $8.00. Would you do that with your money? NO! Let the employ employ someone for what they are worth to the employer. It has been 225 years since Adam Smith explained the invisible hand of the market. By far and away, it is the longest lasting and most powerful economic concept. Do not pretend that even the smartest and most caring 1000 brains could do better in the long-run than the market left, mostly, alone. *I caveat that to include whatever laws we deem necessary to prevent unfair competition, price-fixing, and other things deemed nasty by us economists* For those that say we should adjust the minimum wage, do you not expect that if people expect wages to go up, they will adjust their expectations accordingly. Do you not agree that if you expect something to happen, that expectation changes how you act than if you did not know something were to occur? I HIGHLY suggest reading up on Robert Lucas' Expectations' Model, Keynesian 'Efficiency Wage' model, and literature on the NAIRU *that some unemployment is actually HEALTHY* When you can back up your arguments with facts, figures, and numbers, then I'll give it some weight. Ok well since you seem to be well schooled in this subject, I am just wondering where the line is drawn between cost of production and money in the pocket for a group of shareholders. It seems that is what this boils down to. When a company is making millions in profit here in america, and then decides to ship overseas in order to make a couple MORE millions in profit, yes they are cutting down on production costs, but the brunt of that saved cost money is going directly into their pockets, not to benefit the consumer. As far as helping economies of these foreign countries, that doesn't happen because they are being paid barely enough to buy food, which does not fuel their economy whatsoever. Now as far as how this affects the american worker. I am just wanting to know when good jobs like tech jobs go overseas, what are the workers here replacing those jobs with over here. What NEW industries are being created over here to compensate? I am not really arguing the economic facts and figures of the benefits from outsourcing. I am moreso arguing that violations are going on unchecked abroad, and the notion that somehow "13 cents a day in "insert country here" is a fair wage" When you tell a workforce that their job isn't worth the american minimum wage, then you are basically telling them that their livelyhood and well-being isn't worth a damn to them either.

I think I should reiterate that I never said that anyone should disobey the cops when they do indeed ask for ID. Of course you should as your duty comply with a police officer's request. The issue was never, whether or not to follow the law. However, all I am saying is that ruling may open the door for unecessary and added harassment by cops. If folks are acting suspicious or in a suspicious manner, a cop ALREADY has the right to find out what is going on and demand ID and all that stuff, so I am not sure why this new ruling was even needed. In my opinion this will make the bad cops worse.

don't try to downplay the conditions with the *in our eyes* reasoning though. To any human being with a heart you'd be pretty disgusted with what you see over there. As far as the market analysis, well I can't compete with you if that is what you do on a daily basis, however I will say that I thought we had laws against certain labor violations that seem to get let go in the name of nothing but profit and greed.

I kind of feel this angle will result in Lita turning heel and going with Kane, which will be followed 2 weeks later by Lita turning face again as Matt confesses his love, only for Lita to turn heel again 2 weeks later with the return of Jeff Hardy, yet one more turn as face after Jeff turns in contaminated piss and then Lita & Matt end up together, on Velocity. Vince, can I have a job?

the way they panned To Victoria's shocked and disgusted look of her just sitting there staring up at Trish, coupled with the weird Stevie appearance. I'd say it is possible that Psycho Victoria could be on her way back.

That is fine and dandy, but I am not referring to tech jobs in a nice HP building somewhere in India. That is an entirely different discussion. I am talking about nike factories and wal-mart clothes assembly lines in third world countries.

Actually, this guy seems to be very liberal. He wrote a very anti-Reagan piece a couple of weeks ago. I meant the review itself, not his personal opinion.
-
I don't mind if you are against the stuff presented in the movie, but what do you mean by, "hit the nail on the head" That obviously is just your opnion, and seeing as that you should watch the movie for yourself first before claiming how great a review of it is, try to hold off on proclaiming what has "hit the nail on the head" Thanks [/bias jerk mode]

so by best, you mean most biasedly against it........gotcha

If they decided to pick on some minority and arrest them, I think they could do it without this law. yes I know, but like I said, this law kind of invites more of the behaivor.
-
well we weren't referring to the literal act of stocking shelves, moreso, the role the field worker plays in making sure the shelves are stocked.
-
I think the most ignorant thing about this is some of you assuming these hypoethical scenarios end with, "thanks for showing your ID, now you be on your way fine sir" Yeah F'n right.
-
Mike, you behave as if the cops have NOTHING better to do. "Come on, he's getting away!" "Ah, forget it. Let's go bug this black guy over here" Cops ACTUALLY work and have ACTUAL concerns. They have MOUNDS of paperwork dealing with almost everything they do. They aren't going to give themselves MORE WORK for the hell of it. Listening to you talk, it sounds like the KKK decided to simply become the police IN EVERY CITY IN AMERICA. -=Mike Yes, that is what I act like.. So I guess you act like police harassment doesn't exist and it is totally made up. Sure it is another liberal conspiracy. I didn't say every cop, I didn't say every city. Stop making things up. All I said is that THERE IS places in this country where these things are taking place, but of course I'd leave it up to you to turn "some" into "EVERY" The harassment already goes on, and the cops that DO, DO IT, don't need another permission slip.

How is it worth $5.25/hour? Picking fruit and vegetables isn't worth that at all. And, thus, THEY AREN'T PAID THAT. -=Mike never said it was worth 5.25, I just said it wasn't a quote, "meaningless" job. Since having grocery stores stocked seems to be rather important. It's also a job that --- as Dr. Tom so eloquently pointed out --- you could train a gorilla to do. -=Mike well actually you can't, or believe me they would have gorillas out there doing it. I am sure the companies enjoy illegal immigration in the sense they can pay farm workers peanuts, and the neat tradeoff is that it keeps food prices lower, so it would be interesting to see if one day conservatives got their wish and illegals were wiped out, and americans started taking those field jobs, and the minimum wage laws were to come into affect.
-
Well then could you find me a detailed economy report on third world countries, since you seem to be very sure as to what is fair in third world countries. 13cents is barely enough for those people to buy food for their family. They aren't fueling their economy with their wages. They are just desperate people willing to take ANYTHING that is thrown their way, oh of course until they prove ungrateful and and even poorer nation starts begging, they don't hesitate to close shop and move on to the next villiage. So I am not exactly sure where you have put together your "fair wage in their country" economic chart.

Umm, how is keeping our grocery store stocked with produce, a meaningless job?
-
Ok, the worth of a job is definately never set by the company, it obviously must decrease as the cost of living goes up. This would explain how companies like Nike consistently find poorer and poorer nations to exploit while they get rich. When you make the argument that a "job is only worth such and such" who is making that decision? Are they assesing the actual labor of the job, or are they just considering the fact that they want a couple more million in their pockets for the next annual profits, so they move on to the next poor country so they can lower wages from 13cents to 7cents?
-
No one said anyone should refuse. Of course they should just comply and show their ID, but the point is that this gives the cops more power to harass people, of their choice, just to stop them. The officer would have to justify asking for the ID if it became an issue. I mean really. If the man is investigating a crime, he's not going to leave the area, walk four blocks and pick on some random black guy. He's going to have to explain the situation to someone in some type of report. So police harassment doesn't exist then huh? Look I know in your world, and admittingly so, MY world, it isn't really an issue, but there is no way you can tell me that this isn't going to present another free pass for cops to harass minorities in certain parts of the country. The issue, isn't about a cop investigating crime, and no one is arguing that, so stop acting like that is what I said. I am talking about cops with nothing better to do, more likely to stop minorities, "just because" and this new ruling helping their cause to do it. It already goes on, plenty, and this ruling is just another way of aiding that practice.

You guys remember the one with the Dad who thinks he was a rapper? I mean he was like 1/2 rapper & 1/2 hippie. It was just horrible. If I was that guy's son, I would truely be embarrased. Then there was the "I have a drinking problem" episode where the guy with liver problems drank anyway, and there was the scene of him tearing up his wooden deck for no apparent reason. Also, the morbidly obese blonde girl who kept showing up late for her waitressing job at the gentleman's club that she realy had no business being hired for in the first place...... MTV - True Life: The laughs keep coming~!

Yeah the wedding one was hilarious. I mean 5 minutes into that episode my girlfriend turned to me and wondered why ANY FEMALE on the planet would want to marry that shmuck.
