  1. We hear them SAY a lot of things. What they propose and what they say don't often tend to mesh. -=Mike well then I am sure the democrats are happy to have YOU around to sort everything out for everyone. Well, they live and die for the naivete of you. -=Mike well considering I have never voted for a democrat, or the fact that you are willing to say "look this group of politicians they are bad, but this other group of politicians over here is good" and I'd be willing to say YOU are the naive one

  3. His entire legacy is that he kept out of the way of the economy and got out before it got bad. Clinton is Coolidge. Hell, be glad I'm not comparing him to Harding. -=Mike thank you for the brilliant anaylsis. I am so glad I have you around to sum up his legacy. Nowhere before have I seen such an unbias look at thr 8 years under Clinton.
  4. I am almost positive "the rich" is also applying to many of the corporations that basically don't pay taxes, period as well. Also, we repeatidly hear them say, "The top 5%" and $100,000/yr is not in the top 5%.
  5. I have no class wednesday night, so I will see it after work wednesday night. Oh and Harry Knowles gave it a review one could consider almost homoerotic....LOL.
  6. LOL, it's lines like that, that get me through work everyday.... now really though, who erased my message instead of the two edits?
  7. EDIT: triple post
  8. I am just wondering if they are actually gonna try to act like Regal/Benoit couldn't have obtained the Raw footage to show Eugene what really happened. I still never saw the logic in a character like Eugene picking Triple H of all people as his "favorite wrestler" Eugene is going to be the next overexposed gimmick that will fall flat in another month or two......if it isn't already starting that is.
  9. well most likely I will be going to see it sometime between a 7:30 - 11:00pm......I should be ok
  10. I thought I read a few months ago that a second season for HBO was taped and ready, but I haven't heard anything since. Maybe it is coming back when Bill Mahr's show comes back in July, since that is what it originally debuted after.....anyone know?
  11. For those of you that usually go to the big blockbusters on Wednesdays....Do they typically jampack the theaters like Friday openings? I finished my final for my class on Monday, thus I don't have to attend class wednesday night and will be off work at 5pm, which means there will probably be 2-3 Spiderman 2 shows left on Wednesday night. I am wondering if I should buy tickets tonight, or if I should be safe just going tomorrow night and buying tickets then....
  12. not to mention that with a record like Bush's, an "I'm not Bush" platform, is definately the right start....
  13. Aren't the so-called "fact-checking" people though pretty bias in there own right, and who is checking up on their fact checking, or is the "fact-checkers" word just taken as instant truth because it coincides with some people's hatred for Moore? I will admit that Moore's tactics can sometimes come across as cheapshots, and he does some fancy editing to help his arguments however why should a "fact-checkers" statements go any more unchecked then of those he is checking of.(huh?) I will stick with my original point that I think this movie's main statement/purpose was to show that Bush and his administration had plans to go to war with Iraq pre-9/11 and 9/11 was just the event they needed to conjure up enough fear in the american public to set the wheels in motion. And I think the movie did a decent job of that.
  14. whoooo cares what games we choose little to win, but nothing to lose.......*smoke clears from head* oh yeah umm..... Incense & peppermints by Strawberry Alarm Clock

  17. ummm, I must have missed the memo: what exactly happened to Marney?
  18. first of all, hippies don't do crystal meth, that is the for white trash folks. Also isn't there the slighest bit of irony in the phrase, "x straight fucking edge x"
  19. to me the central message of the film, and what he wants the viewers mostly to walk away with is opinion he shares that the War on Iraq was an unncessary war that was made possible because our nation was in fear of 9/11 and willing to let Bush and his administration basically do anything they wanted as they long as they told us "it will make us safer" And IMO, he backs up that CENTRAL CLAIM/BELIEF just fine. The documentary as a whole, yes may have some flaws, and looks to be rough around the edges, but the central message to me was strong and supported pretty well.
  20. DL'ing it as we speak. I get to shred it AND not give one dime to that useless fat fuck. And, it should be noted, you're an unmitigated shitbag. -=Mike Everyone let's welcome our newest member to the SmartMark's Communist Party.........MikeSC
  21. If I remember correctly, it wasn't just the Bin Laden family that Moore was talking about, rather approx 140 Saudi royal members and family members. And there is conflicting reports as to whether they had clearance and how exactly they were cleared.
  22. Well according to you ANY criticism to Bush is a misconception. Also, I am gonna call bullshit on the "people assume the economy is bad.....etc..." I don't know what "media" you are watching, but the news shows I watch everynight keep DESPERATELY trying to put out the notion that are economy is "booming" and very robust. Which is a laugh and half in itself..... "heard their neighbors have been doing badly" well assuming neighbors still talk, I don't think it would much of "hearing" more like, seeing so for themselves.
  23. oddly, I'd have to agree with you. It definately seems that Kerry's ratings go up the most in "the polls" when he is silent/invisible and Bush is just left to screwing up as usual(well in my opinion) but the minute Kerry actually speaks up on it his numbers seem to drop down again. Maybe Kerry should just keep silent until the debates and let Bush seal his own defeat.... People will talk about Bush all they want, and make remarks about him "defeating himself", but how damning is it for a party when people like your candidate more when he does nothing but stay in the background and remain silent? And how sad is it for America that the alternative to the incumbent is a guy who we like less the more we see of him? well from everyone I have heard on this board, Kerry is a lackluster candidate at best, no one has claimed he is a savior, however Bush continues to show why Kerry can just sit back and shut the hell up, and still make it a close election.
  24. I agree, I mean not even Nader could get me to vote for Kerry......
