  1. Eh, look at the bright side. yeah yer right. With the A's farm system, he can be replaced pretty much with the snap of a finger. Beane will convince some struggling club how much of an asset Zito will be, and just like that, he will put together another great trade. Thanks Anglesault, that helped.
  2. well I also would say the media is doing it's damndest to sell the "get rich quick" lifestyles of many youngsters, whether it is millionaire heiresses, or kids that become stars and get rich as kids, or teenage athletes. The media is glossing this left and right, and pretty much ignoring hard work and goals etc.. Then at the same time they don't mention that your shot at going that route is more then one in ten million..........not that this is any kind of excuse whatsoever
  3. According to the specs listed at www.dvdreview.com There is going to be a "cutting room floor" feature where they discuss a lot of scenes they had to cut. While I wish they would just restore them into the film for this DVD release, having the scenes on the DVD is the next best thing. I can't wait.
  4. For those who are interested in some of Michael Moore's earlier work, IFC is gonna air The Big One(1997) in about 30mins. Whether you like or hate the man, check the documentary out......
  5. Zito not turning the corner by now is kind of troublesome. Considering he isn't getting ANY BETTER with his location.......dammit.
  6. What 3rd Party have we had that could actually attract a majority of voters? They INTENTIONALLY marginalize themselves. -=Mike Well Ross Perot pulled high numbers basically SOLEY in the name of the money he had. Now of course you are never going to win, in a one shot deal, but if he was a lot younger, and kept spreading his message and kept running, and always had that money to back his campaign up, then quite possibly he could have one day won, or made it interesting. The key was MONEY. Then Steve Forbes could've had tons of attention in 1996. But he didn't. You need more than money to make an impact. -=Mike Ok correction: Money isn't the ONLY FACTOR, but you need it, and lots of it, to even stand a decent chance.
  7. The only two scenarios I see coming out of the current situation is either Eugene turns heel and Triple H is booted out of evolution and turns face to promote his movie........OR.........Triple H just uses Eugene and then Eugene finds himself magically back in the midcard, wasted and on his way to jobbing to the Nathan Jones's of the wrestling world from now on. Gimmicks like this never work for more then a few months, especially when they are force fed down the throats of fans. Eugene is a midcard gimmick and was just plucked out by Triple H in order to give himself more heat. As soon as this is accomplished, Eugene will be discarded like all those before him.
  8. I saw the video a few minutes ago.........Hilarious. Danzig had this shit coming.

  10. Seeing as how Cosby was worried about the black youth, mentioning others with the same problem seemed ridiculous --- especially since the civil rights groups go on and on about how young blacks can't get good jobs. -=Mike I understand that, but the discussion in this thread has kind of morphed from what Cosby thinks into our thoughts, so I was just giving my experience.
  11. No, we aren't a two-party system. We are a RICH-party system. If a 3rd party had the money to splash ads and campaign at the levels the Democrats/Republicans did, then they would be getting higher numbers, and eventually would have a decent-to-good shot at winning. It is more about funds then it is about, "oh people are fine and happy with a two-party system"
  12. As far as attributing poor speech to inner city poor blacks, I'd have to say that in my life, I have heard just as much slang and crappy grammar coming from whites, hispanics, blacks etc......no one single race takes the cake over another. And I live in a pretty good part of town, probably considered right smack in the middle of the middle class.
  13. No No No....Ok, in theory you are correct. However Vince & Triple H have so far shown that all they do is take a hot midcarder, use them for the VERY short term effect, and then ruin them and set them up for failure later.......Look at Jericho, Booker T, RVD, Benoit(potentially, even though he actually did get the title). They basically have taken all of these guys and plucked them out of the midcard because they were getting over BY THEMSELVES, and on their OWN MERIT, and thrust them into the Main Event scene for no other reason then for Triple H to wave his dick around, and "show the fans" that he is better then them. Now fast foward to 2004, and what has it done for ANY OF THEM long term? The only one to survive so far is Benoit, however that is still in question because it remains to be seen how fans outside of Canada treat him once he is officially branded as another of Triple H's victims. Jericho has rebounded a LITTLE BIT, but really, he hasn't really done anything significant in over a year.(And no, I don't count the stupid love triangle storyline, significant). Then look at Booker T & RVD, both are nothing but lower-mid card fodder. Neither have recovered from their respective burials. And they were plucked out of the midcard the SAME EXACT way that Eugene was, for the sole purpose of Making Triple look "stronger" I am telling you, Eugene will be a waste of space in about 6 months, while Triple H is enjoying another year long title reign.
  14. Dubya is pretty horrible when it comes to coming up with answers on his own. I almost seriously doubt there will even be a debate for this election between Bush & Kerry unless strict rules apply to making sure all questions are pre-screened, which pretty much makes the debates useless and not worth watching......
  15. yah, but you also like Albert.......
  16. 15 Points is beyond exaggeration.
  17. GAWD, I had completely forgotten about stuttering Golddust. Now I can't stop cracking up at how WWE thought that it was a good idea. I am legit here at work in my cubicle laughing, and I think people are starting to stare......Imagine trying to explain why I am laughing.....
  18. Was it me or did the ring ropes have a little more bounce to them? Oh and the lighting, was it a littler dimmer then usual. Lets not forget about the Crowds white-shirt to colored shirt ratio was way off from the usual crowd..........hmmmm....WHAT'S GOING ON, AAAAAAAAAAH~!
  19. Actually the Booker T/Goldust angle DID get Booker T over, and he even ended up getting a title shot, however Triple H decided that "you people" don't belong on his level, and quickly disposed of Booker T. Remember the Pedigree, followed by Triple H laying around for 20 seconds before attempting the pin?
  20. That's just it though, I don't feel that "find another way to get Triple H over" an interesting story. Not that I was EVER fond of the Eugene character to begin with, but he did get pops and could have been utilized to get the midcard scene over a bit more then it is now. See the thing is, Eugene, no matter what impact he has on the current angle, will be lost, shuffled, trashed etc.....after his use is up. Look at Jericho, sure the smarks love him, but the Marks could probably care less about whether he was around or not, and this was a guy who WAS the first unified champion. Don't tell me Y2J's pops prove otherwise, because a pop is just a pop and anyone can get pops.
  21. My biggest gripe with the IMPACT show so far, is that it seems to feature the same five guys every week. Why haven't we seen more of the Raven/Sabu stuff on TV?
  22. Hell, we import plenty of cheap products from china as well.
  23. I was just about to say that..... Much like 2000, it doesn't get more bland and unwatchable then Kerry vs. Bush....
  24. Well Eugene had heat in the midcard, and the main event picture will always have default heat since it is after all the MAIN EVENT, so in otherwords, Triple H sacrificed would could have been something to keep the Midcard entertaining, in order to give himself more heat.
  25. The Problem with the Eugene saga is that either way, Triple H is coming out ahead, whether it is heel with the belt, or a face turn and an immediate status as #1 babyface vs. New Evil Evolution with Evil Eugene. Eugene was just fine as the "slow guy" that could actually wrestle. The Eugene character was right where it belonged, MIDCARD, now it is getting all this attention because Triple H found a way to have it benefit himself, yet right on cue, Eugene will be forgotten about and depushed back down to the midcard when Triple H has exhausted his use of him. The 2 big points I have a hard time with are: 1) The Eugene character has no business in the main event 2) Triple H once again leeching off of others heat to put himself back in the spotlight.
