  1. I'll lend another vote to Jim Rome. The thing I like is how he incorporates more then just sports. He will throw in some minor news stories of the more comedic nature. Also, ever since his Producer Jay Stewart got that part in the Heidi Fleiss movie, he somehow has connections to get actors on his show now. I have heard interviews with Ben Stiller and Angelina Jolie (among others) on Jim Rome' show, and he handles the interviews well even though he is from the sportsworld. I think it is funny how JT the Brick got a radio show basically, after winning Jim Rome's smackoff back in the day.
  2. Giambi being voted in as a starter is a joke. Not saying his best years are done, but THIS YEAR, or at least half-season, has not been one of his better ones, rather has been pretty medicore.
  3. The only Eugene segment I really enjoyed was the Eugene/Regal training sessions, other then that, I think they are kind of lame, too drawn out and just too predictable.....I have a feeling Vince is gonna go the Buh Buh Ray Dudley route with Eugene, and have him turn heel and suddenly stop being "retarded" Like it was some kind of plan all along.....I mean the "Eugene realizes the truth, and stands in Benoit's corner to watch him beat Triple H" is just TOO Richard Gere/Julia Roberts for WWE 2004. And quite frankly, that would be the dullest thing possible. I also, see they are starting to throw out hints that Triple H's plans with Eugene is creating rifts between The rest of Evolution, so there is an outside chance that POSSIBLY, they do a double turn and Eugene is in Triple H's corner, but still jobs, and somehow Eugene turns heel, and him and Evolution beat down Triple H.....and that can set up Triple H vs. Orton at the next WM.....
  4. hmmm.......I am still undecided. I know my girlfriend's brother saw this flick for the first time when we all saw it in the theater a few months back, so if I was to buy this new version then my current disc would be a nice gift for him......
  5. Hell, a channel that would show The Hills Have Eyes rather then IKWYDLS is fine by me, not to say that HBO doesn't kick ass as well. but IFC does air a lot of quality stuff that HBO would never touch.
  6. as far as I know, IFC shows all movies uncut, unedited, and they don't have commercials.
  7. So, is the Drudge headline "KERRY FLIP-FLOPS, CHOOSES EDWARDS"? Well that is what the new Bush ad is going to argue, that Kerry somehow confirmed he wanted McCain and not only is Edwards a second choice, but another "flip-flop" ugh..
  8. Don't foget Starbucks. Seriously though, if you asked Canadian teens, they would swear up and down they would have nothing to do with America, yet at the same time have adopted just about every american pop culture trend. They are teenagers for heavens sake.
  9. So Drudge was wrong, which is usually the case, however now we have to keep hearing from Dick Morris about how Hillary will now go on to sabatoge the Kerry/Edwards ticket so she can run in 2008......
  10. The Turducken was a twisted idea, but it turned out to be a GREAT thing.
  11. yeah you gotta admit that in ECW/WCW anything Raven touched, turned to gold, so he gets to the WWE, and Vince doesn't wanna hear any of Raven's ideas, and basically jobs him out.....
  12. IFC comes though again, with a random airing of a classic horror flick from the lesser known Wes Craven flicks.......Turn it on fools.......There is a little over an hour left. I flipped passed it by total coincidence.....
  13. EDIT: forgot daylight savings time....

    Jim Morrison

Well it is hard to judge and rather cheap to just say you know for sure they wouldn't have amounted to anything historic. I mean hell, Kurt Cobain is almost held up like a god to recent generations. On a side not, I saw Robby Krieger's jazz band a couple of years ago. They did a mix of their songs and Doors songs, and it was a great show. His son did the vocals and did a rather spectacular Morrison imitation. They also did a rendition of the pulp fiction theme, and I marked out.
  15. My prediction is Edwards, which would be a wise move, IMO.
  16. Well I have the current "Zombie" DVD and honestly it doesn't look like they were holding anything back from the uncut version I saw last halloween at the theater, so any of you horror fans know what the current Zombie dvd is missing that would make the Zombi 2 Fulci collection release worth getting(even if you had to double dip) ?
  17. someone told me that unregistered versions of spybot and like apps, don't actually get rid of the spyware, they just kind of run you through the process of how it works and sort of *mock* kill spyware. That is why a lot of the spyware seems to pop right back up a day or two later.
  18. Thanks for your addition to the conversation. -=Mike Your welcome, and another thanks to you for keeping me from getting involved in another 2000 Election debacle rehash conversation, cheers
  19. The fact that these young "artists" spend 90% of the year on the road doing various things such as touring, recording, promotional stuff etc....kind of sets them up to fall in love/marry the first male to show them a little attention, only to come to their senses once they can assess what they have done, so it kind of makes you feel a bit sorry for them..........NAAAAAAAAH.
  20. There WASN'T a debacle. That's the point. It was a CLOSE election. There was NO illegalities whatsoever. EVERY ballot was counted. NOBODY was prevented from voting. The system WORKED. -=Mike Wow. Just Wow. Any interest in participating in this thread has been killed.......
  21. The main problem with today's crop trying to reach the levels of the golden era's actors is that nowadays there seems to be a typical formula in acting: Start out by taking, challenging, compromising, controversial roles to get noticed, and then once the media hales you as a good actor, start making Romantic Comedies. I think James Woods is an outstanding Actor and is underrated. I also think Kurt Russell is very underrated. Keith David is really good, but I think he plays the same type of character too often to really be labled GREAT. Gary Oldman Harvey Keitel Deniro/Pacino obviously Jennifer Connelly nails just about EVERY role she takes on whether the overall movie is good or not. Brad Pitt actually has a lot more range then people tend to give him credit for, it sucks cause all the media wants to do is play up his "hunk" factor, but he is actually pretty damn good. Denzel is good, but he is heading down the "same character, different name" route.... I will think of more later......
  22. Well, I am not about to say go start a war, but maybe if this kind of horror, was shown by the mainstream media and broadcasted then at least a good portion of people might possibly decide against diamonds. I wouldn't doubt stories of the horror have been pitched and broke before, but these Diamond companies are filthy rich and probably have no qualms about paying off networks/reporters etc...to stop them from airing negative pieces about the diamond industry. Not to mention it isn't like we could send reporters into these dangerous places for a field report, lol. My anger on this issue kind of increased when america was running the ads claiming you are supporting the Taliban and Al Qaeda when you buy Pot. I mean I really thought it was sick how they used people's fear of terrorism to fuel another anti-drug rant, rather then really explore how terrorists make a lot of their money.
  23. We only demand replacements for people who have become liabilities. Typical Yankees elitist, "if there is price tag, we will buy it" bullshit.....Azif it is that hard to imagine GOOD teams with a #9 hitter being an easy out most of the time.
  24. ....and that somehow differs from ANY OTHER TEAM IN THE LEAGUE how!?!
  25. Well the A's have already been explain by another poster so I will handle the Kings and the Redskins.... And in case you didn't get the MAIN POINT of my original post, my main beef is with the Red Sox who want everyone to feel sorry for the "lovable losers" and I prefer just to take the "lovable" part out of it, because they are just Yankees-lite in the way they spend money. Kings - well I live in Sacramento, so naturally I have been a fan since I started watching basketball, after I got over my obsession with Dominique Wilkins. I dunno, supporting the hometown team seems kind of novel, right? Also, the Grizzlies called the Kings wanting to unload Bibby for Jason Williams, not the other way around. And once again the NBA has a cap, so the rules are different because franchises have to do a lot of wheeling and dealing rather then simply start writing blank checks. Trading for players, is strategy, you are always giving up something to get something. Can you understand the difference here? Different leagues, different rules, apples and oranges my friend. Secondly, for the Skins. There is a cap in the NFL in case you didn't know, so every team spends roughly the same on their roster give or take a few million, so there isn't 50+ millon disparigies in salaries. So as far as being "wannabe Yankees" as you so profoundly put it, the NFL would have to get rid of the salary cap. As far as Oakland being a sideshow, they are one of the most winning franchises over the past 30 years, and their 4 World Series Championships ranks second behind only the Yankees. And don't try to sell me that the Yankees "barely waste money" Hell they pay guys more to sit on the bench and pinch hit, then other teams do for starters. They sign guys to sit on the bench just so other teams can't sign a role player that might help them take that next step.
