I hope so. I'm more worried about my quest to find component cables though. That's the worst business decision by nintendo, refusing to release something in a store.

Well World of Warcraft DOES deserve the most addictive fueld by Dew award, as MMORPG's can be addictive. And why Samuel L. Jackson? What does he have to do with video games?!!? These nominations are a joke. Some of their awards are just lame. Best Performance, Male? Is this just designed to give 50 cent a bunch of lame awards for his shitty game. The funny thing is the two best games outside of FEAR are only represented in the Original Score section (We love Katamari and Indigo Prophecy?!?!) i guess Tekken 5 is the best fighting game of the yeart (I don't like the series, but nothing else great has come out, SC3 isn't really that super either) FEAR is probably gonna win most of the awards (and probably should win the best overall game award out of the other choices) But it's certainly not a better overall game than Indigo Prophecy (which the more i think about it was my best game of the year, if only because of the innovation and fun story) X-Men Legends II is barely an rpg. I love the game, but there needs to be a "Best Diablo Clone" category :) Best RPG was Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner (part I) that's excluding DW8 which according to all reviews is f'in amazing (i'll be picking it up on tuesday for sure) Yeah this sucks. Indigo Prophecy = GOTY

I understand the 250 pound and under sect has some great fights (heck i even get HBO and have an opportunity to see some of those fights, though most of them are ppv only) But I'd rather watch an mma fight than a boxing fight any day. (I go around DVR-ing mma events on INHD whenever they're on, even if they are kinda old). It just seems to be a more credible sport in my eyes. Combine that with the different styles in a K-1 or MMA fighter, rather than just punching and it becomes a more dynamic event. Eh but that's just my opinion, I do like Erik Morrales

Otogi unfortunately is a game most people don't even know exists. It's just...surreal. It's also challenging. Very very challenging. The very definition of a gamer's game. If you do have an xbox you should make every effort to acquire a copy. It's the most underrated game of this generation, and that's unfortunate (And there are SO MANY different levels and each one is so much different from the last, and the game doesn't even end when you think it will) I just get this weird feeling prime might end up similar to Crimson Sea. A fun game that is, but with some minor flaws. No one's ever made that comparison, but i don't really know how many people actually played Crimson Sea either.

I suppose the fluidity between combat and platforming elements. I love otogi because of how freely the game moves between fighting and platforming (and in fact the fighting is part of the platforming) It's just an amazing experience. I think I'll like prime, and even though it's more of an fps/3rd person hybrid I know i'm gonna compare it to Otogi the entire time. (Then again Otogi is the only reason I originally bought an xbox, I played a demo of it and was downright amazed. )

You're welcome to stop over seriously though, I wish any of my friends were wrestling fans, so I had someone to watch this with, it's easier to mark out when someone else is as into something as you are

Hmm. Maybe i'll pick up the first one cheap and see what I think. I'm very experienced with FPS's (both on PC and Xbox) so no worries there, I've never met a game I couldn't pick up and play. My main worry is the gameplay fluid enough...a lot of 3rd person action games tend to turn me off because they just don't flow right, and part of it comes from having played Otogi (the best 3rd person action game ever imho) it's hard for anything to live up to that standard.

I don't like the name Unprettier, but the move itself is awesome. It has a slow setup time letting it be countered, but at the same time it's easy to put over as a deadly finisher because of the heavy looking impact it makes. A new name is definitely in order though. We could take a page from the way WWE handles HHH's finisher and just call it a Shotgun Blast to the Face

I suppose I phrased that badly. I understand the purpose of the holiday and respect it, I just am confused as to why I have off this year, when I didn't last year and the state tries to avoid giving us friday holidays off unless they have to. AndrewTS: How exactly do the Metroid Prime games play? I've considered getting them but I'm iffy as to the style/mechanics of play and I've heard so much back and forth on them. I'm definitely picking up Mario Tennis and one of the Mario Party games though.

Just want to take a quick second to apologize for no-showing so many matches in a row, especially to JD for noshowing at A2A. I just lost the desire to write for this character, every time I sat down to write I just couldn't do it. I should have put something out, but what can ya do. Prolly won't be seeing me writing anytime soon (and i'm sureI pissed a lot of people off) but I'll definitely be keeping up with the SWF Comments on A2A: The first two matches I don't have much to say...it's hard to really analyze a 4-way as there's so much going on and they're obviously very difficult to even attempt to write properly, so I can only say a good job was done of keeping the reader aware of the whole ring. The gimmick Dust to Dust match was excellent. Tremendous violence, I greatly enjoyed the emotional/dramatic style of writing used it really managed to bring out the tension and combative nature of the match. I was still pulling for Blank, but I would love to see a rematch or two WC/Cortez wrote a tremendous match. Felt like they put Ward over way more than he probably deserved, but it was nice. I kinda wish I was still gonna write as I really enjoyed writing my Ward v. Cortez matches. JJ Johnson is one of my favorite wrestlers in the SWF, and his match with Stryke was imho the best match of the show. It had amazing psychology and told a story without having to be lengthy word wise. I was really into this match and several times really felt Johnson wasn't the winner at the end. Nice hot finish as well No comments on the tag match. I just honestly don't enjoy TORU's writing style at all. No slight on him though, he's a cool dude ELM is the man (I did like JJ's match a little more, but I have a soft spot for short matches that tell a great story) Another amazing defense, I just wish I'd had a chance to wrestle him so he could have made me look that good Great show though, I think it was better than Genesis actually

I follow boxing as a matter of course in my following of all sports in general...but is it really relevant to anyone under the age of 30 at this point. There's so much corruption, no centralized or even meaningful championship/ranking system and all the top fighters duck anyone remotely competitive, that it's not even a sport as much as old-folks hype/gambling machine. Which is sad, because a boxing fight can be really engrossing to watch. This applies doubly to heavyweight boxing which doesn't even really exist anymore imho, there's nothing relevant or notable about it at this point.

no you're right, I'm being stupid. I don't know why I have off on the 11th. I just assumed it was columbus day because it's the only holiday I know of before thanksgiving. Apparently Nov. 11th is Remembrance/Veterans Day...but i don't know why I have off. State jobs can be nice sometimes.
-
Thanks to columbus day on friday I have a paid day off, I'm gonna be travelling to every video game store in the greater pittsburgh area looking for a used set of component gamcube cables. it may be the worst day ever ;p
-
The gamecube sure as hell DOES support progressive scan. Hence the gamecube component cables that nintendo sells on their website that specifically mention they're for games with progressive scan. not sure what information you got that says it doesn't, but it was a bad source.
-
I hate Nintendo. I just bought a gamecube and a bunch of games for a good deal on ebay (my fiance wanted one, and I haven't played it in awhile and there are some games I want to try) So I'm lookin around, thinking hey let me go see what I can do about hooking this up to my fancy HDTV for progressive scan support with component cables...and THERE ARE NONE IN ANY STORES. And No 3rd party ones, the only way to get them is to order direct from nintendo's site. What's more, the newer gamecubes actually don't even have the port so I can't even tell if I have the right gamecube till it gets here (at which point I could send it to nintendo for a replacement...sheesh) This is irritating, all this trouble for a cable. If anyone knows someone with a cube component cable they aren't really using, steal it for me

Not only does Christian have something to say...he has the skill and charisma to actually deliver it the way it needs to be delivered, he can draw the audience in and make what he says come off as authentic...TNA doesn't really seem to have that type of microphone-capable worker up till now, and it's something that to me gives them some authenticity with the casual fan...

MIB is rtight. I wasn't aware it was still that obscure. My bad
-
Glad I wasn't the only one who thought he had just got done doing coke right as the camera panned to him.
-
Genesis is a must buy now. I was wavering but now I want to see what they do with Christian in addition to the other stuff. That'll be TWO TNA ppv's in a row I'm splurging, gonna have to suck up to the fiance big time.

That Jags are gonna end up missing Donovan Darius by the end of the season. If they still had him, between him and Rashean Mathis and their awesome D-line, I could see them running the table (And Byron Leftwich is a fuckin PLAYER, I wouldn't want to bet against him with something on the line, he's one tough mofo) But I feel that Darius was a huge part of their secondary, and may end up costing them in the playoffs (and potentially a few reg. season games)

That's all you need to be I'm still debating if I want to get DQVIII. VII disappointed me (The ending came too fast and was too easy, which made all the leveling you could do/have fun doing kinda useless. Plus there weren't enough sidequests to go with how many cool worlds there were. I did like the -midgame- challenge though, it was pretty high...just the whole game didn't utilize the class system as much as it could have because you didn't get access to it till 1/3 of the way into the game) i just haven't read much about VIII, though I think the cel-shading art style is pretty cool (cel-shaded slimes are awesome) I don't know what the battle system is, how hard it is (ALL DW games should start off tough, become mildly difficult and end EXTREMELY hard ) and how much there is to do. Talk about threadjacking....

the only reason i like System Shock 2 more than Deus Ex is due to the horror aspects of the game, it was just so well designed as to really startle you when something happened out of nowhere. Deus Ex is quite the game, as a matter of fact I may go reinstall and play it tonight ;p too bad DX2 was...less than amazing.

VIII (with a caveat that I only really love this one because I enjoyed the story more than any other FF story, it had a lot more to it than people really give it credit for.) IV VI V (Job system rocks) X IX I VII II X-II(i never actually played this one...) III (But there's no way it's worse than III)

I was wrong. 35-7 not 35-3...they got a td on the opening drive, instead of a FG. Other than that this game is quickly moving to finish just as I thought it would. There's no real reason the pats SHOULD win this game, they just aren't that good.
