NOTE: I'm assuming that they ENCOURAGE divisional match-ups in the playoffs. I have a funny feeling that I'm wrong on this AFC - Making the playoffs: AFC East - New England AFC North - Pittsburgh AFC South - Tennessee (bye) AFC West - Oakland (bye) Wildcard #1 - Miami Wildcard #2 - Indianapolis Out in the cold: Cleveland - They won't do better than 9-7. Buffalo - average defense + "Price-less" offense = failure to keep up with AFC East rivals) Kansas City - GET A DEFENSE! NFC - Making the playoffs: NFC East - Philadelphia (bye) NFC North - Green Bay NFC South - Tampa Bay (bye) NFC West - St. Louis Wildcard #1 - N.Y. Giants Wildcard #2 - San Francisco Out in the cold: New Orleans - their division is like the heel roster on the RAW brand - no chance for upward movement. Seattle - I mean, seriously, people are giving them division championship hopes? They'll be the Phillies of the NFC West for the 2003 season. Playoffs AFC: Pittsburgh over Indianapolis New England over Miami Tennessee over Pittsburgh New England over Oakland Tennessee over New England NFC: St. Louis over San Francisco N.Y. Giants over Green Bay Philadelphia over N.Y. Giants Tampa Bay over St.Louis Tampa Bay over Philadelphia (I hate repeat match-ups.) Superbowl Tampa Bay over Tennessee

The "star power" on Smackdown will dwindle if 'Taker or Angle leaves for RAW - especially when you don't want to give up a face from RAW up (RVD? Booker?) Also, moving Angle or Taker to RAW would slowly chip away at the credible face roster on the SD! brand. Leave the rosters the way they are - let the writers integrate feuds/stables between brands (Kane/Brock).

Was Teddy's blown SSP in the quarterfinals edited out of the show?

... it looks like the man perched on Brock's shoulders is missing...umm...clothes.

I don't remember that. It was actually 1990 - at the Capital Combat PPV.

What is your favorite WWE PPV theme of 2002?
Fökai replied to Lil' Bitch's topic in General Wrestling
To echo earlier sentiments, "Adrenaline" and "Always". Adrenaline: The video package for Brock/Taker is absolutely awesome - Brock kicking off the beat with his "fake attack taunt" on a pregnant Sara is a prime production job. Also, the Desire video for the Undertaker (housed on the DVD version) stands beside Angle's Clocks, Austin's My Sacrifice and HHH's Beautiful Day as wonderful career retrospectives of the worker. Always: The title track simply fit the PPV, even BEFORE any matches were announced -remember the video package with the cameras hovering over MSG? Anyway, the Elimination Chamber video package tops all "PPV match video packages" for the year - HBK un-intentionally lip-syncing the lyrics to "Always" in the video package is absolute GOLD. Not to mention the music video for Always on the Survivor Series 2002 DVD. -

The one-and-only football contest thingy thread
Fökai replied to kkktookmybabyaway's topic in Sports
AHH~! KKK and I agreed to post all predictions for both contests in the prediction thread I've started. We will post results for each league individually. -
Yes, but the "match-up" contest by KKK is only open to those who have signed up (see the roster page in his thread). Also, the 80% bonus can be attained by answering 13 out of 16 predictions correctly.
-
Post predictions here.

Prediction threads will be set up on each preceding Monday night/Tuesday morning. Rules: (1)Weekly winners and results will be posted every proceeding Tuesday morning, and yearly records will be kept. (2)You must predict ALL GAMES in a week in order to qualify for that week. That's so someone doesn't go and just predict the Steelers/Panthers or Rams/Texans type of game for each week. (3)You may skip any amount of weeks, but it will hurt in this format: LOCK OF THE WEEK: Each week, I will designate (2) two games (both between high win % teams OR evenly-matched teams) with a "Lock of the Week" option. It is your CHOICE to choose one (1) of these games and make your selection for "Lock of the Week"... Rules: --You may only choose one of the two games. --It is completely optional to participate, but correctly predicting your "Lock of the Week" will earn bonus points --CORRECTLY predicting the "Lock of the Week" will earn you (1) one bonus point, helpful in the quest for the bonus. --INCORRECTLY predicting the "Lock of the Week" will deduct (1) point from your week total. Be careful. This is basically a way for those who may have started late, or are in the middle of the pack, to risk their way into contention. The leaders of the contest will have to prove their lead, with correct predictions throughout the weeks. Weekly Scoring: Most correct predictions of games in that week will win. Incorrect predictions will not factor into scoring, unless using the [LOCK OF THE WEEK] feature. Tiebreakers will NOT be issued. Cumulative (Yearly) Scoring: (+1) Point for each correct prediction BONUSES: (+3) Points for a "80% or higher CORRECT WEEK" (+5) Points for a "PERFECT WEEK" (+5) Points for winning or tying for a weekly win. Example: If you get all 16 games of a week right, you receive (16) Points for all correct predictions, (3) Points for a 80% or higher week AND (5) Points for a Perfect Week. You total would be 24 . That academically wins you a share of the week, so an additional (5) points adds up to 29. [The percentages of correct predictions needed for the bonus will be posted in the prediction threads.] ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note: Picks are due 15 minutes before kickoff on Thursday. Yeah, but with this quote - ...Jay acknowledges that Test was inactive this week. There's no definite hints of sarcasm (the "Shopzone" comment might work), but I wouldn't put it past him based on his own sense of humor.

:Farrooq Mode: Well....I'll be DAMNED! Hawai has a fucking 7-11 and yet Southwestern Ohio doesn't? ::nods::

Yes. The "Dudley Diary" housed a hilarious moment, where Tommy Dreamer shows off his hidden talents in the "Claw Game".

Bret Hart, circa 1997: (referring to Pittsburgh, PA) "If the United States needed an enema, this is where you'd stick the hose in!"

Skulking out of the wasteland, cutting down all who dare stand in the way using a sharpened screwdriver, cometh bravesfan! And he gives a cruel scream: "As sure as predators devour prey, no flesh shall be spared!!!" Hmm...

Since when? They're been making it so that you can't skip some of the shit at the start of DVDs lately. At least you can fast forward the tape. Using WinDVD4, you can right-click on the DVD (while it's playing) and skip straight to the main DVD menu.

Use Google to find River Past Audio Capture. It'll capture streams off of your computer (DVD, Windows Media Player, etc.). Simple interface + trial shareware = a download. Just be careful when using a program that uses alot of alerts (AOL, AIM) - it'll capture those sounds too.
-
Well, I did say - ...but I'm sure they've main evented enough Smackdowns in the last 3 months to be considered "wrestlers" by the IWC, right?
-
Correct. Though I've never downloaded it, you can see that the filename doesn't "match".
-
Correct. There's that famous story of Vince flying to the set of Princess Bride and convincing Andre to come back for "one last big payday" (Wrestlemania III). After much deliberating, Andre underwent major back surgery in early 1986 (there's a cool story on that, too), then agreed to the angle.
