By the way, as a late replacement, MTV is stating that th new Nets rep will be Jay-Z. Go Bulls, but I'm rooting for anyone 'cept Milwaukee or Miami. I can't think of two more undeserving teams.

You might want to take a look at their contract situation first; the players they want to keep are the ones with the meager contracts, the expiring contracts (Marbury, Rose) are ones that the Knicks obviously want to hold onto, and the big contracts (Randolph, Curry, Jefferies, Q-Rich & James) are so bad that no team will touch them. Crawford is the one movable piece I see. His contract can't be paired with someone else, lest they lose someone of worth to their team, or lose an expiring. Best case scenario for Donnie Walsh is a decent team in 2009-2010 season. He has to accept this roster for another season.

The only non-competitive series of the playoffs so far involved one of the most embarrassing defensive performances I've ever seen. All of the other series are "great" teams gaining the edge on "good" teams, or great teams underestimating lower seeds. The level of competition in the league is this good.

I found it pretty funny that Flacco was praised by Mortensen and Kiper because he had an "accurate arm that could throw 15-20 yards on a rope" , and "still shined as a quarterback with a weak season schedule and strong receivers". What? That was the same things people knocked him [brennan] for! Colt has tested better at accuracy than Flacco at every measure, and Flacco's arm is weak at the deep ball. What makes these guys different at all?

Another link to live steaming.... http://www.justin.tv/grandtheftniko EDIT: My god, Tuff Gong, the radio station. I'm fucking giddy right now. And no, I'm not a stoner.

I don't get the second round pick of the Niners. C'mon, Malcolm Kelly dropped like a stone in this draft, and we don't go for him? Not even James Hardy? And we instead pick an offensive guard? I'd understand if this guy was a no-brainer like Branden Albert, but I don't see the need to take a chance on a guy that'll sit for another year behind Larry Allen. Our glaring holes are an RT that doesn't suck, and a wideout that can catch the ball. Address one of these issues first.

The Ravens will move up again. They can't stand pat with TWELVE PICKS.

Okay, ten minutes of my life saved because the Dolphins take Long immediately. I'm guessing the rest of the order for the Top 10 beyond the Longs goes: 3. Falcons - Ryan 4. Raiders - McFadden 5. Chiefs - Dorsey 6. Jets - Gholston 7. Patriots - Albert 8. Ravens - Clady 9. Bengals - Rivers 10. Saints - Ellis I won't make an edit here - just wanna see how wrong/right I am after all these weeks of mock drafts.

Fuck Erick Dampier. What a fucking bitch. EDIT: Thaddeus turned out to be okay, just a bloody nose. McDyess had the broken nose.

You kidding me? That was awesome. Kevin Pritchard is a master con artist. He turned Tyrus Thomas and Randy Foye into LaMarcus Aldridge and Brandon Roy. That's awesome. Well, to be fair, the Bulls never intended to draft Aldridge, as dumb as that sounds. They were sold on Thomas' "upside" after he had a good game against Aldridge in the NCAA's. They were going to draft Thomas with the second pick until Portland came to them, thinking they were going to draft LaMarcus. The Bulls got a free player in Khryapa...who amounted to nothing.

It's not a problem. Memphis gets to the free throw line more than enough times each game, that usually their free throw shooting has very little impact on the game. And in the last two games, it seems to be an asset. Coaches don't use that as an excuse. Calipari doesn't. He just flat-out denies it. It's percentages, Bob. That's how we measure how well they could do. In the Final Four, with four terrific defensive teams? Dribble-drive motion will only work for so long against a low-post force in Love or Hansborough (who both love to disrupt motion and passing lanes), or the best defensive backcourt in the nation in Robinson, Chalmers and Rush. With said defenses, free throws are going to come at a premium. So, bad free-throw shooting comes down to one of three factors: lack of practice/repetition, bad form, or pressure. Which one does Memphis fall into, and will it come back to bite them in the ass? As an addendum, Mississippi State had both Kansas and Memphis on the ropes in a short span, and it was their own late-game execution that cost themselves the game. People have been doubting Memphis all season. He's proved them wrong, he has a right to be smug. So you are agreeing with me? I know he has a right to be smug - he's made it this far and with only one loss overall. But there is a reason why people dislike Bill Belichick and took great joy in his defeat. After delving into the subject a little more, I answered my own question - yes, Calipari has always been a smug bastard. Fran Fraschilla [sp?] says that Calipari's likability cames with his naiveness and paranoia. Then why did you say fuck Memphis. Fuck Calipari then. I'm rooting for UCLA because they were my preseason pick, so a loss to Memphis doesn't really affect me. I'd like to see Calipari be proven wrong, but I already got my wish with Belichick and can't really ask for more.

The first comment was made after the Mississippi St. game, where they shot 15-32 from the line, a clip of 46.9%. A victory nonetheless, but a 3-point victory where it seemed like none of their free throws were dropping in the final five minutes. Which is why that comment was baffling. Saying "it's not a problem, let's move on" when NONE of your starters are 70% or better from the line, is laughable. They've obviously made strides to correct that over the course of the season, but he must be fooling himself to believe that he was never worried about this going into the tournament. As for for that second comment: he's right, and congratulations for what can considered a minor upset in said circumstances, but unless you're arguing on the side of censorship and such, there's no way you can argue that he's not being smug about it. You don't even need tone to figure out where he was going with that. For the record, I enjoy watching them play, and I'm not rooting for them to lose. I'm just posting an observation.

Is there a way to add that history feature to the drop-down menu on *this* page? (y'know, scroll up a bit, see Czech's username? That drop-down menu).

Wow, has Calipari always been a smug motherfucker? First, the "we don't have a free-throw problem, just look at what we did today" comment last week, then now the "we're Princeton on steroids" jab. Fuck Memphis.

I don't know if it was mentioned in the Observer this week, but Mysterio was hoping to return to the ring six weeks after surgery (this was an additional tidbit put up by Alvarez). The surgery he had would likely have him in that timetable, which is where Alvarez brought up the multiple malpractice suits.

A&M peaked at the right time. They nearly beat Kansas in the Big-12 semis without Sloan, their leading scorer, only losing by six. That's two #1 seeds in a week's span. Unless a few people on this board want to devalue Kansas as well.

Curry is ridiculous. EDIT: Okay, that shot of a despondent Adam Morrison in the crowd has made my tournament already.

RE: The ASU phantom foul. There needs to be some kind of universal understanding of the "over the back" foul, from high school to NBA officials. The victim of the foul needs to be in a position to box out, then actually attempt to box out. If there's any contact then, that's a foul. Pendergraph went over a USC guy who was basically looking at the basket (in all honesty, he was waiting for the ball to rim out, which it did) and timed it right for the putback dunk. The USC rebounder wasn't even in position to do anything. That was a disgusting call. Just...sad. ASU has a damn good team (seen them live) and a beast in Pendergraph. I hope that they can make the dance despite this call, but that's a longshot now.

Captured from a youtube video... Sick. I can't wait for that poster.

Hawai'i got their BCS bowl. And I can't complain about that. Here's hoping that a playoff system comes down the pipes soon; there's no clear cut "best team in the country", and the one I would choose for that distinction (Oklahoma) isn't even in the title game. And there's millions of people around the country that'll disagree with me and endorse a different school. Maybe the NCAA and BCS will get the hint that there's a strong argument for nearly six or seven teams to challenge for the national title...or maybe we'll just repeat this next year. Sure.

Game 7 of the D-Backs/Yankees '01 World Series was the most emotion I have ever invested into a game. Growing up as a Yankees/Cowboys/Lakers hater, that was the culmination of my childhood - the final game of the year and a comeback win.

I'm not going to honor an undefeated season unless they put up 60 on Miami. Do that, and I'm on the bandwagon for the season.

Yeah, but he would've looked like a genius if Kelly missed that kick at the end. Too bad he didn't know that Kelly has balls of steel. This is the third time that he's saved their season with a kick from 45+. EDIT: My bad. I did forget that he did use those timeouts to attempt to ice Kelly before he called the final timeout. I take my defense back; that was a fucking horrible call.

FUCKING NEVADA. FUCK. EDIT: FUCK YOU NEVADA. I LOVE DAN KELLY.
