  1. Bored, where am I in the scheme of things? And yeah, I understand why I'm still out of the standings. What a shitty week.
  2. There was a hilarious argument last night on BBTN with Ravech and I believe Dusty Baker. After they cut away from the Yankees/Rays feed, complete with Brian Kay (?) deeming this season a story of perseverance and courage, Ravech wondered aloud, with a $200 million budget, whether it should rather be labeled a season of underachieving. Baker then retorted "You can't call it a underachieving season. Their pitchers, early on in the season, were pitching terribly." What I would pay to have a camera on Ravech's face after that. Ravech just sighed and moved on to the next segment after that exchange.

  4. Odom is just a good contract to get off of the books. The short-term solution to appease Kobe is what they should be looking for; there's going to be a lot of money and superstar free agents floating around next summer to even worry about the long-term return for Odom. And hell, try to hold up the Suns for a draft pick. It's not like they haven't been giving them away for the last three years.
  5. Which was awesome.

  9. Yeah, good idea Marvin Lewis, put it on your defense - it's fucking 51-45.

  11. Had the best seats in the house for the UH/UNLV game (three tickets, dead-center front row on the 50-yard line). I did get Colt to sign our game tickets sometime in the 3rd quarter when he was pulled, but the highlight for me was June Jones flicking off the UNLV fans who were talking about how hot his daughter was (just the intent of the taunting was hilarious). There were a few Heisman-like performances today, but even with an attempt to shed my blatant homerism, Colt should be the front runner. EDIT: I almost forgot. The punter for UH, Grasso, was signing autographs all game long. I don't think he even had his pads on the entire game.

  13. They made a point on the website to say that Sandman was disqualified because he was drafted after that RAW - he was not "a champion on the brand after the night is over".

The saving grace for me was the few mash-ups that they showcased. They even brought in Lemmy to do that "aftershow" with Foo Fighters. But to reiterate on the bad, MY GOD this was bad. This was three hours of improvised lines, music and acting - the defining moment of this show has to be the look on Jennifer Garner's face when she realizes that Jamie Foxx just won't shut the fuck up. I mean, seriously Jamie, SHUT THE FUCK UP. I understand that you don't want to be there, but next time, please fucking mercy-kill the segment for the sake of everyone watching.
  15. Hey, a little redemption for that Alvarado kid.
  16. I just jumped out of my seat - 45-44 Hawai'i wins. La-Tech went for 2 in the first OT, which was a good decision in hindsight with the way they were running the ball, but the UH corner (I think Elimimian) knocks it away to win the game.
  17. Wow, a huge 49-yarder from Kelly ties up the game at 38 with 1:35 remaining. I'm just hoping that Hawai'i makes it to Vegas 2-0 for next week's game. I don't want to sit in a crowd of morose UH fans. EDIT: And now the pressure of the situation is getting to the Tech receivers. Two big incompletions that could've led to a game-ending FG.
  18. Not to take anything away from La-Tech's stout defense, but UH has shot themselves in the foot continuously today with easy fumbles. It has set up Tech with good field position on a few scoring drives. Tech has surprised me today, nonetheless. 35-31 Hawai'i.
  19. After reading that Sloughter would play, I changed my mind. Oh well.

  22. No, it's on pay-per-view available to the islands, but my HDTV unscrambled it. Let me tell you, this team is SCARY. Yeah, maybe it's the opposition, but I've never seen such a well-rounded Hawai'i team before. In the first five minutes of the 4th quarter, they've had a blocked field goal, blocked PAT, kick return TD and an interception. It's not a matter of the system being responsible for their success anymore, it's a bunch of play makers who understand the system. This is the third year in which I've had that feeling. Let me say one thing: they're lucky that the defense is getting a second wind, because Graunke (Colt's backup) is looking like shit right now. The crowd booed him after a drive in which he had two lame duck throws, including one where he throw a 30-yard wobbler (after a botched snap) into triple coverage for an INT.

  24. Really, the only legitimate threat to knock them off will be Boise, who are also in the same boat with a soft schedule. If both of them are undefeated going into their game at Aloha Stadium in November, I can see the winner getting a BCS berth.
  25. ...and I turned the channel and missed it. Oh well, Alex will get the record in a few years.
