  1. He's not matching up well with anyone on the court with Dallas. He played after the half, but he was being outclassed. Howard was crushing him in the third on mid-range shots, and Dampier was having his way with him on the offensive rebound.
  2. Can I still pick?. I thought that I was waiting for Leena or Harley's pick. EDIT: Scarlet won't be here. I take Matt Morris.
  3. I had him pegged four or five rounds ago, and I figure that a few others would've taken the risk even earlier than that.
  4. Might as well grab him now.
  5. I simmed through most of the season, playing about three games of each month. I'm really just messing around, while trying to solidfy my skill to move up to All-Star difficulty. I still have problems throwing inside sliders without plunking batters...and don't even get me started on the basestealing "mini-game". This must have made you feel good. Honestly, the AI in those type of situations are still retarded though. The Twins didn't sign Andruw at the end of the season, so they basically gave up Johan Santana for beans. Not only that, but they let Liriano become a free agent at the end of the '08 season.
  6. Yes. Thanks.
  7. Nevermind.
  8. Went with the Braves franchise on 2K7. We started off really poorly (like 14-25) or something of that effect, so I swapped LaRoche and Mike Hampton for Jake Westbrook (SP-Indians) and a prospect to open up a starting spot for Scott Thorman (who is awesome) and to shore up my rotation (which was at that point, Smoltz-Hudson-Westbrook-Davies-James). That's a decent roation potentially, but the offense wasn't coming around with Francoeur and Langerhaans hurt. Hudson was like 2-7 with a 3.00 ERA and miserable mood-wise. A few games before the All-Star Break, I read the news of Johan Santana being pissed at Twins management for not working out a deal. So, I asked what they wanted in return for him. They asked for Andruw Jones and Hudson. I asked for Michael Cuddyer and threw in Bob Wickman, a big expiring contract. They were more than happy to take the deal. I made a run at the end of the season, making my last trade of Rafael Soriano and prospects for Mike Gonzalez (RP-Pirates, now Braves), finalizing my closer role. I signed Chris Hammond and he was lights-out for a few months, even getting votes for Cy Young. Anyway, 85-win season and a early sweep courtesy of the World Champion Dodgers (!), and I'm in free agency right now. The big fish on the market are Ryan Howard, Carlos Zambrano and Kerry Wood. Smoltz and Hammond are the big retirees, so I have to fill the void, not to mention the gaping hole in centerfield with Andruw and now Langerhaans gone (I kept Cuddyer and now Langerhaans).
  9. Khalil Greene, SS
  10. Ty Wigginton, first/second basemen.
  11. Pick coming. I'm in for a draft chat. Anytime before Thursday is good for me.
  12. If anyone is willing to trade down (hint) because they don't see anything they don't covet (hint), I want to make a trade to swap draft positions for this round only... (hint).
  13. Team Pacific.
  14. Man, I hope the media doesn't give McGrady any shit for being concerned about playing in New Orleans next year at the All-Star Game. Jason Whitlock did a really great article on the anarchy in Vegas last month for ASG Weekend, and I don't see much of a solution that the NBA can provide to next year's potential meltdown.
  15. If they can figure out a way to simplify their software to the likes of the relationship between iPod and iTunes, the Zune may have something here. Too bad, because the Zune's "unlimited download pass" is a big point in it's favor. Of course, to keep the songs, you have to keep the pass at $14.99 per month.
  16. Eh, too valuable of a pick at this point to pass up... Kenny Rogers.
  17. Heavy Lumber is proud to add Coco Crisp to our roster... Umm...
  18. Pick will be up in the next twenty minutes. The Renteria pick threw my strategy out the window.
  19. By next winter, every team in the league could feasibly have pieces to move for Garnett, based on how this summer's draft will play out. I just want to see him in a new environment. Chicago, Los Angeles, who cares. Just as long as he's out of Kevin McHale's hands.

I remember the first time I picked up the Tiger Woods series, the 2004 edition, and how four of our college dorm mates and I created one character each and went through the game together until we maxed out our attributes. And it was a great three months. It took me three years until I finally returned, and the '07 edition is somehow even light-years better than the '04 edition. If you like the demo, GET THIS GAME. I was torn between picking up Crackdown and Street: Homecourt in the next few weeks via GameFly, but this game made that decision easy. Neither.
  21. I'll invite people to list better choices than Bobby Lashley right here. Go ahead.
  22. Bob hits the nail on the head, again. And no one really cares about how Lashley/Umaga will be as a match. Lashley will go over. He will become a star by osmosis. Umaga has nothing to lose by doing this match. This is a no-brainer and a credit to the WWE's booking. Yeah, I would want Rock too, but that shit ain't happening, and I wouldn't put Umaga over because he's not the guy a step away from being a mega-face.
  23. Heavy Lumber adds Rocco Baldelli...
  24. Man, I think I've got a good pick coming up. Won't jinx it with Scarlet's next pick.
  25. Except other comedians. Which is why this is an issue among comedians.
