It was HIS idea. There's SOOOO many ways around admitting he faked the gimmick to avoid being offensive - they already have signs that point to him being smarter than people perceive him for, including the "wrestling savant" facet of his character.
  2. He asked for the match, and received it; Stephanie then inserted herself into the match at Trips' request, if I remember correctly. The ruling after the RAW/Smackdown brand extension was that each brand would need to decide who would be their contender to HHH for that month's PPV (SD in April, RAW in May, SD in June). He was named to the #1 Contender's match opposing Hogan in April, but he lost. By HHH/HBK logic, Jericho should've been given dozens of shots until he won the title back.
  3. They (the WWE) already have one planned for Eddie - this'll most likely be the main feature of the DVD (i.e. the Stone Cold Truth program).
  4. He got a title rematch on RAW two weeks after Wrestlemania X-8 - the same show which housed the original RAW/Smackdown brand draft.
  5. OF COURSE they'll just threaten these users with legal action - it's not worth the trouble. They're simply going to target the websites and eBay users (which they have been doing), because it is the easiest avenue to pursue. Websites are the quickest way for any Joe Blow to find copyrighted media, which is the legal department's main concern. What I was trying to say, was that it's possible for the WWE to pursue newsgroup and IRC users - that's all it is. It's simply not cost-effective or logical for the WWE legal department to chase these users down.
  6. Embracing the Wrestlecrap website like he did (and when he did) made me a fan of his. I'm sending out my well wishes and prayers to John and his family.

  8. ...that's because I said individual users of the newsgroups. If the charges are serious enough, the ISP won't risk a lawsuit against THEM by refusing to divulge individual user's informatioon. If they went through the trouble of contacting webmasters who host media, as well as filing lawsuits against eBay users who illegally sell dubbed copies of their shows, they'll ask ISP's to divulge information on those who infringe on their copyrights.
  9. I was thinking earlier today of whether they could've inserted anyone in his place. Is there anyone on RAW roster not in the battle royal?
  10. That's a good portion of people who distribute media - some do it to encourage traffic to their websites (NoDQ, Sledgehammer, Wrestlefury) and some do it to build themselves up (users who create music videos). If websites keep linking to high-traffic IRC channels that distribute media, they can find individual users. That's about it for that channel of distribution, though. Individual users, yes. EDIT: "Individual users" means individual users of the newsgroups. No. Not a torrent expert here, so here's a quick question: are the seeders revealed by username?
  11. Huh? Did I miss something? That's the first I've heard of that. ...from PWInsider:
  12. Let's be serious here. The company is cracking down before the debut of WWE 24/7, and they're already on the path to removing ALL material (those that violate their copyrights) from these websites. They have 3 employees used solely to scour the internet and find sites that infringe on their copyright laws. Once found, they threaten legal action against the webmaster or distributor of the content. Additionally, they already have a contract with eBay that removes any listing they deem illegal.
  13. They own the raw footage (obviously) and the CHV cuts for each show, since Coliseum was just a distributor for them. It was mildly cheaper for the WWE to use an outside company to distribute their videos, but after the contract lapsed, the WWE built their own multi-million dollar editing/production studio and began to do everything themselves (making more in the process).
  14. What's the approximate U.S. price for each DVD set (excluding shipping, of course)? I'd also be interested in picking up a few sets, too.
  15. Would you agree with the last poster who stated that Hart Foundation v. Nasties, an absolutely HORRID match, was better than anything TWGTT or the Smackdown Six put out?
  16. Out right now... Wrestlemania 1 and 2 Double DVD (PAL) Wrestlemania 3 & 4 Double DVD Royal Rumble 1989 and 1990 Double DVD (PAL) Available in August... Royal Rumble 1991 & 1992 Double DVD Summerslam 1988 & 1989 Double DVD
  17. Woah woah woah... Let's not get carried away here. None of those matches broke ** or were even built up at all (save for Demoliton/PoP). These matches aren't able to hold a candle to the tag team division of the new generation (1997-present). Since 1997, the WWE/WCW have subscribed to the idea of combining to two talented singles workers coming together for the benefit of workrate, not just to hide the other's weaknesses (i.e. Hart Foundation, Rhythm & Blues).
  18. Player option after 2004-2005 season. Until then, he's either going to be kept around or used as trade bait.
  19. 23 matches on a compilation.... Hmm, I guess people would pay $50 for a five-discer of Benoit's matches... Yeah.
  20. It had to have been between the Rumble and Wrestlemania X-8, because the Forceable Entry CD came out at around that time advertising RVD's new entrance theme.
  21. Yes. HHH wasn't ready to appear at Vengeance or any earlier, because not only had Trips not been medically cleared to participate in an angle, but they didn't want his return to overshadow the new champion. On another note, RVD's popularity was at his highest in the fall of 2001, but each and EVERY opponent of his complained about his stiffness. Ironically, RVD was held back by his own inability to hold back. With that said, I doubt Vince even entertained the thought of letting RVD run with the belt (especially when Austin, Angle, Rock and Jericho were all ready to carry the company into Wrestlemania).
  22. London's on the show tonight. Announced matches: Jamie Noble v. Spike Dudley. Akio v. Orlando Jordan Scotty II Hotty v. Mark Jindrak. Rico / Charlie Haas v. London / Kidman.
  23. Eddie.
