  1. I agree with both camps on Hot Rod. While I was watching it I couldn't help but think that it was a piece of shit... but I absolutely loved it. Walken's SNL was good. Cold opening was hilarious and LASERCATS! When it started I was thinking... "Please be Lasercats 3 and not something else." And not only was it Lasercats but it was a good one. The pug/cat battle was great.
  2. The ForumPro that I know always has the answers. Clearly this has thrown you off your game.
  3. No way, man. You need to keep the #1 contender strong and not put him against an iron-clad behemoth like Tamdan. Gono said something hilarious which caused Tamdan to let his guard down and succumb to an armbar. Seriously, though... Tamdan will be done with his break from fighting at the end of May so he needs back in the Octagon... preferably against someone slightly lower ranked.
  4. lol. Yes, it does. I concede that was poor phrasing but the gist of it is he's in line for a title shot. I did a bad job writing that.
  5. Yeah - I'll get the torrent of YAMMA but I don't know... it's not exactly "revolutionary" like they were claiming. Thiago Alves said on TAGG radio that he is the #1 contender, in a way. He's got the winner of the winner of Serra/St. Pierre vs. Jon Fitch. That should be sometime around December/January. Should he take off between now and then or schedule another fight? We saw how that worked out for Karo. I don't know.
  6. Not so fast says Fedor's manager. I swear, this Vladimir Finkelstein guy is the devil. The fight's probably not going to happen because this guy is going to try to get $7M and a clause that if Fedor wins by armbar he actually gets Timmay's arm as a prize.
  7. I'll update the Affliction/Adrenaline MMA situation once there is more information available - which now that they have a card coming up shouldn't be too long.
  8. Sean Bean looks just like HHH at the end of "Fellowship of the Ring."
  9. I can envision a scenario in which Timmay defeats Fedor.
  10. Oh, that's not on there? Yeah - they had Yarrenoka - aka Fedor Returns card. That card also had the memorable Misaki/Akiyama fight that ended with an illegal soccer kick and a public tongue lashing from Misaki to Akiyama. It was unlike anything I've ever seen. Here's a video of the fight: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x3wqdi_ka...akiyama-y_sport But the post-match shenanigans aren't in the video. He just berates him to his face (with a microphone!) and Akiyama stands there and takes it.
  11. HDNet is quickly racking up an impressive array of small shows. Here is a list of every show they have ever run. http://www.hdnetfights.com/events_past.php They have some decent "name" stars on their own cards: Pete Spratt, Yves Edwards, Frank Trigg, Edwin Dewees, Mayhem, Tim Kennedy. The XFL show listed on there was pretty good because it featured Jake Rosholt and Johnny Hendricks, who both looked really impressive.
  12. Hell yes. Great news to come home to. Ordering HDnet months ago has easily been one of the wisest decisions I have ever made.
  13. I have an M.S. in Molecular Nutrition/Biochemistry/Molecular & Cell Biology. A B.S. in nutrition/biochemistry.

  15. Just about one year later bump... I ended up deciding to move back to Chapel Hill. That's what I decided anyway. I spent months applying for jobs in the Research Triangle in preparation of being done with school finally (after 8 fucking years - ugh) in May. Then I got a recruitment offer from Bristol Myers Squibb, one of the top pharmaceutical companies in the country... it's a hard offer to say no to. So I could end up signing a two-year contract as soon as next week to live in the booming metropolis of... drumroll.... Syracuse, NY! DOH! Man, I don't want to live in Syracuse, but it's hard to turn down BMS at the salary they are offering me. $65k for the first year and whatever raises I can get when I move up the ranks. Considering I will be doing the same job (or maybe even easier!) that I do now for $27k... yeah. Upstate NY for life? Ick.
  16. Carmelo Marrero suffered a "tiny" headcut during his NC this past weekend. And here's a LOL from Bisping:

  20. I was just watching the Imaginationland DVD commentary the other day and I never really realized just how last-minute these shows are finished. They said that they had a general idea of what they wanted to do with the trilogy but the night after the first part aired they still had no idea how to get to the ending. They always knew that imaginary Kyle would suck imaginary Cartman's balls but they really didn't know how to fill the 2nd episode and parts of the 3rd. They only knew, for sure, from the beginning that Alien and Predator would be behind the wall, too. They put back in the woodland creatures because they said they always wanted to reuse them again until they remembered that they couldn't because they weren't real. It was a pretty interesting commentary to listen to. But I think, in general, that these things aren't done until Wednesday mornings.
  21. In a very well booked match - Kendall Grove vs. Evan Tanner is on for the TUF7 final. Is it safe to say that the loser of this fight is pretty much in deep shit as far as their UFC career? I never as a big Tanner fan but his startling honesty about his alcoholism won him some points in my book. Couple that with the fact that Grove has pretty much always rubbed me the wrong way and I'll be pulling for Evan in this one. Also: McFedries vs. Eastman. I like Marvin at 185. I thought Terry Martin would beat him but Marvin won the decision there. It will be a slugfest, at least.
  22. http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/b0e6763dc3 I never heard of this movie until 10 minutes ago and now I can't wait to see it. It's got the guy from Heartbreak Kid (the cousin) and Drillbit Taylor (if anyone besides me saw that)... Hilarious. Has anyone seen this?
  23. The new subtitle is quite long.
  24. What did you guys think about Sotiropolous taking a shot at GSP? "I just got lucky today and I can't wait for Matt to get lucky again in Canada." I'm not sure if that was a direct shot at GSP but it's a shot at whoever said Serra got lucky. Which he totally did. But I could see why he and his camp would be offended. Not much more I can add about that arm-bar. It was pretty nice.
  25. HATE! Nate Diaz quote, obviously.
