Guest El Satanico Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Does anyone know what the point is to my talent acquisition guys telling me people are coming to the end of their contract? So far, no one has actually been released or left. It's to let you know that you need to resign people to contracts. Usually all it means. He's talking about when they tell you that guys in other feds are close to the end of their contracts. There is no purpose to it other then keeping you up to date on who could become availible

Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Just curious fellas, have you ever ended up going head to head with either Raw or Smackdown? If so, how did you do? Dames Never. I usually have something mess up my whole own fed scenario that destroys my company. Like last time when I was XCW (at Cult), I lost ... oh ... 14 stars. 4 to WWE, 6 to TNA and 4 to RoH. I had no recovery from it. 6 months later after I built myself back up, I went flat broke.
The Dames 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2003 I'm asking because I've been running NWA:TNA and I was just given a show on the USA Network. I put it on Monday and I have a late evening time slot. If the ratings improve, I'm going head to head with Raw, baby. Dames

Guest treble charged Report post Posted April 21, 2003 In 2.0, I was TNA and went head to head with both Raw and SD. One show (I think it was my Monday show) was consistently getting better ratings than Raw, but it was 'too close to call', or whatever they told me in the news section. One show (I think it was my Monday show) was consistently getting better ratings than Raw, but it was 'too close to call', or whatever they told me in the news section. That's the usual response I got with my Global feds. Hopefully my new fed, Pro Star Wrestling, will be taking the WWE on here soon.
Guest treble charged Report post Posted April 21, 2003 I was killing SmackDown, too, but that was on a network with higher ratings than UPN.
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 21, 2003 (edited) Well folks. It's Pro Star Wrestling's first Monthly Event and I thought I'd ask for what you think of my Event, FULL FORCE~! (Note: Everything in italics is the backstory, cause I felt like writing something pretty.) Edit: I'm postponing the Tanaka vs Badd feud cause Tanaka's too freaking injuried and I'd not wanna take the risk of losing him again. Opening Match: A Tag Match of Lunatic Fringe (Austin Lee & Jamie Dundee) vs Angry Young Men (Jonny C & Ryan Wing) vs Casey & Michaels (Sean Casey & Chris Michaels). Winner advances to square off against the current PSW Tag Team Champions later on. Second Match: Jay Lethal vs Sean Stylez Jay Lethal wants to take over Pro Star Wrestling and he figures that the best way to start is by taking out a little nothingness, such as Sean Stylez out of the way. Well, Stylez hasn't gone away, and Lethal seems to be more agitated with this thorn in his side. Third Match: A Tag Match of Suicide Blondes (Derrick King & Jason Lee) vs Silver Dragon (Lance Silva & Insane Dragon) vs Riot Act (Mike Sullivan & Roadkill) Winner advances to square off against the current PSW Tag Team Champions later on. Fourth Match: Johnny Smith takes on Lash LeRoux Lash claims he's the lady killer. He aims to please all the women in the world and he was willing to please even some ugly llama faced ones. However, whom he was talking to when he said that wasn't a woman, but the technical wonder of Johnny Smith~! Seems like Mr. Lady Killer is about to find out whether he really is a killer of any type, or whether he doesn't become a biatch at the hands of Smith. Fifth Match: The Tag Team Champions Gedo & Jado will defender their titles in the very first TLC match of PSW~! Winners from first triangle match and second triangle match will compete in this triple threat TLC match Can Gedo & Jado retain their titles or will there be an upset in the makings? Sixth Match: Lightning Flik goes after the PSW Highlight Title and it's current Champion, Ultimo Dragon in a Ladder Match~! This feud was started by what Flik said to Ultimo on his first night as Champion, "you, a highlight? Excuse me, but you ain't no Highlight. Ulty, you ain't nothing but a lowlight that I'm going to bust up and prove who's the true Highlight Package©~!" From there, it's been back and forth in a never ending struggle over the title. Who shall reign in this ladder match? Seventh Match: Current Prime Time Champion, Scorpio, squares off against Damien Bristol. Will be quite a hardcore match. That's for sure. Scorpio and Bristol never hit it off after their first match up, as Scorpio knocked out Bristol's lights with a set of brassknucks~! Bristol's been fuming over that loss ever since and now goes into this hardcore match, and ready to take that title away from Scorpio. Using every single method given to him. Scorpio's plan? Find some way (and every way) to cheat in this match. Eight Match Hiroyoshi Tenzan the current North America Champion puts his title on the line against his rival, Ken Shamrock. Tenzan won his North America Championship using devious means. Problems was, is that the person he ousted, Ken Shamrock didn't take to kindly to being up ended in such a fashion and has been relentlessly hounding Tenzan for the past weeks. Now Shamrock has his chance to gain vengeance upon Tenzan ... or will Hiro have a few surprises waiting for Ken? Main Event The Pro Star Wrestling World Champion (Yuji Nagata) will defend his title against the current #1 Contender (Vader). After being getting his ass handed to him in the recent weeks, the PSW World Champion, Yuji Nagata, signed a contract last week against his tormentor: Vader. This feud has stemmed from the fact that Vader feels it wasn't fair that he had to compete in back to back matches and thusly that Nagata won the title in an unfair competition. Now, we have arrived, in Full Force to this anticipated battle~! Edited April 21, 2003 by Lightning Flik
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Sounds like a good event and I see you trying to get more than one team to the point where Gedo/Jado will agree to job to them.
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 21, 2003 Sounds like a good event and I see you trying to get more than one team to the point where Gedo/Jado will agree to job to them. Hence why the tag team tourney. I really wanted to book that Tanaka and Badd feud, but I'm not about to lose Tanaka again. Oh well. Oh, yeah~! Anyone wanna care to predict the show? Just for fun? Guest TheArchiteck Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Hmmm I should rehire Lita (Ditched her after she got injured for 16 months >ladder match with Jamal< and have her fight Bischoff and 3MW in a handicapped match.
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Hm... Just wondering, but I need some advice. I currently only have Yuji Nagata and Vader as my Main Eventers right now. It's perfectly fine with me, as both of them have about 6 wins between the two and will last for another two months. My problem is, I don't have any other person in my Main Event, and I'd like to have two more MEs before (or just after) that feud between Yuji Nagata and Vader runs its course. My options currently are: Hiroyoshi Tenzan, 83, Heel (current North America Champion) Masato Tanaka, 80, Heel Johnny B Badd, 77, Face Ken Shamrock, 80, Face Currently, Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Ken Shamrock are feuding for the North America Championship. Masato and Badd are currently just kicking the hell out of each other for no apparent reason than they are pissed at the other. So who should I push to ME? Should I put Tenzan/Badd, Shamrock/Tanaka, Shamrock/Tenzan, or Tanaka/Badd into the ME? Or do I give monster pushes to others?
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Well with a good push you could get Jay Lethal to main event level in a few months no problem. Go get someone like buff Bagwell with no CC and job him out to Lethal for a whole month and fire the expensive vet before the end of the month. It get's Lethal over fast at no cost and without destroying someone in your fed. I'd also move one of you uppercard feuds to ME. They aren't far off from asking you to move them up. Actually, I had Tenzan at 87 over when I started the game and he never asked for a push. Not sure where Tenzan lost overness, but he did somewhere. I was kinda thinking of pushing Tanaka or Shamrock to ME. Yet, I need to put someone over him. Edit: I was also thinking of perhaps bringing up Utly and Scorps into the Uppercard and promote two Uppercards. You know, I would push Lethal to hell, but I'd hate to hire Bagwell. Cause I'm still working on that Stylez and him feud as well. So can't do it just yet. Edited April 22, 2003 by Lightning Flik
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted April 22, 2003 Actually, I had Tenzan at 87 over when I started the game and he never asked for a push. Hmm strange, well guys at least 80 over are ready for main events if you want them to be main eventers.

I guess I should note that Pro Star Wrestling is in no way affiliated with my EWR Challenge fed, and thusly, I started Pro Star Wrestling at National (PI=9). So that might have something to do with it. Edit: In truth, PSW was supposed to be my diary fed, but I just let it be my fed for fun. Chunk 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2003 I started the game with a new backyard fed, o% image and $1m in the bank (see my post a page or so ago). Anyway, I just wanted some tips. I hired, what I think, is a good few workers. * M-Dogg 20 * Ulf Herman * James Tighe * Hade Vansen * Sonjay Dutt Im putting on good shows of around 45% and ive got upto 49 once. Feuds are building nicely, the guys are getting over and the title is getting a good image. The only thing is im running out of money, and the TV companies have no interest in my promotion what so ever. My image is on 2% and ive increased production to 10% What makes things worse is that the talent now all dont want to renew their contracts because they want to go to a bigger promotion. Ive got one month before im broke, have no talent and no tv contract. Any advice? Also, I regularly get my matches to rate in the high 70%s and even 80s. Is this good? The thing is the fans can never give a shit and bring the ratings way way down. Any advice for making the fans get into it a bit more? ChUnK!
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted April 23, 2003 I've never really played as backyard because it's more work than fun. However, I'm sure that you'll never get a TV deal as Backyard. You can't help it when guys want to leave, you just have to be ready to hire someone else and fit them into the fed to replace them. That's what ECW always had to do. Other then that I'm of no help since i've never played that far down the ladder.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted April 23, 2003 The only way to get the fans more interested in matches is to get the overness of your wrestler up. If the matches aren't helping, try interviews and angles. A reason you're not getting a t.v. deal might be because your production values are so low. All the stations have a minimum production value and won't take shows below that. Go to 'view networks' in the television section and you can view networks' required production values and maximum risk percentage.
Guest Retro Rob Report post Posted April 23, 2003 You need to cut the guys right after the show and hire a new roster each month. Its the only way you can survive off $1 million.

So unless you are putting out that much, your screwed. Also, if you Cult and trying to compete with Raw head to head, you are still not as well known as them, and subsequently are getting you ass handed to you because of this. Guest TheArchiteck Report post Posted April 23, 2003 Ok.... I'm NWA:Mexico City Right now we are the 3rd top company. NWA:EC and NWA:SS are the top 2 and only global promotions. Right now i'm 90% national. Last 5 months i've been consistantly gaining cash. I've got Kurt, Brock and Booker in my line up now. Might get Goldberg to put over some young guys. Btw, Molly is the 4 most over face and the only female wrestler. lol Few months ago, USA dropped NWA:MC Aerial Showdown since our ratings were low. Luckily CBS just recently gave us a shot. Were in the late evening slot now. Only problem is my main event scene is constantly getting unhappy. Maybe its because its too many there??
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 23, 2003 Only problem is my main event scene is constantly getting unhappy. Maybe its because its too many there?? *sighs* This is one of the major problems I found with the NWA scenario that Ryland created. There are too many MEs. Choices to correct this problem: 1) When starting a new game, select who you wish to be where on your card. Say you don't want Brock in ME, then put him in UC before starting the game. 2) Or demote people out of ME. MEs like to be the center of attention at shows and also want to be on EVERY card (high on the card), so if you've got say 15 MEs, that's awfully hard to make sure that they aren't too low on the card or not on the card enough. So demote people to compensate. Sure, they'll lose morale, but meh. What else can you do? 3) Fire some of the top talent you DON'T need and hire new talent. Yes, that's a pain in the ass, but there are quite a few people that aren't in a fed that you can pick up that will probably be better than what you've got on top. Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 24, 2003 (edited) Well, I started up a new promotion yet again. Yes, I've got three up and running. Tells you how much time I got with my injuried knees. Anywoo, in my new promotion, CPW (it's a Global fed), I was thinking of dedicating belts towards certain styles of wrestling (ie: categories). Like: Speed = Luchadore Championship Technique = Strong Style Championship Brawl = Xtreme Championship I'm just wondering if that is a suitable representation. I mean, yes, I know there are TONS of more styles then I've listed, but I need to represent them in three categories. Is this good for title names or no? Also, these are all lower/midcarder titles that I'm asking about. Edited April 24, 2003 by Lightning Flik
