Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2003 Okay. Am I the only person on the planet Earth who really loves Hot Shots 1 & 2? Both movies aren't widely known, atleast I don't think so, but I think both films are hilarious. I've seen both films ATLEAST 100 times and I laugh everytime. Hot Shots is one of my all-time favorite movies. I love the Top Gun parody. I first saw it when I was 4 and I still love it to this very day. Each scene is memorable and every character has their own memorable and funny lines which I think a great comedy should have, IMO. Charlie Sheen is great as Topper Harley and Llyod Bridges is awesome also. I also enjoyed the scenes with "Washout" and "Dead Meat" especially when "Dead Meat" yells out "Wendy, I can fly!" before dying. Great movie all around, IMO. Hot Shots: Part Deux is not AS good as the original, but I still find it funny. I didn't like the Rambo parody, but it still had it's memorable scenes and like the first one, each character has their own memorable and funny lines (although not AS funny as part 1). Llyod Bridges steals the show as the President of the United States and is better in Part 2 than part 1. I loved the lightsaber showdown between him and the Saddam Hussien lookalike. I first saw the movie when I was 6 and I love to this day. So, has anyone else seen either of these movies? I'm sure I'm the not the only one.
RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted August 10, 2003 I love Hotshots Part Deux. Ramada: I had to come. It was a sequel. [Addressing a roomful of Japanese businessmen.] President Benson: It seems only yesterday that I was strafing so many of your houses. Today I'm asking you not to make such damn good cars. Topper Harley: These men have a supreme vow of celibacy, like their fathers, and their fathers before them.... President Benson: Cookie? Colonel: No thank you, sir. President Benson: Young lady? Lady: No thank you, sir. President Benson: No, I was just offering him a young lady. President Benson: We'll do this the old navy way. First one to die.... loses! Topper Harley: President Benson. President Benson: No you're not. I've seen him on TV. An older man, about my height. Michelle Huddleson: Mr. President, this is Topper Harley. President Benson: Topper Harley, of course, the son I never had. No wonder I didn't recognise you then.

eiker_ir 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 i love this movies too, that's why i can't wait to see Charlie Sheen in Scary Movie 3. i like part 2 a little more than part one, but part one has a little line that i quote like ever fucking single day at any time, when Ramada is at that restaurant, there's a part she trows her purse offscreen and a glass breaking sounds and a woman yells ''oh my eyes!!!'' i don't know why but i say that everytime since i was a kid
Star Ocean 3 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 I wonder why people start out these threads with "am I the only person who..." when it's obvious they're not alone.
starvenger 0 Report post Posted August 11, 2003 I wonder why people start out these threads with "am I the only person who..." when it's obvious they're not alone. It's because we, as people, have a need to be accepted by others. Well, that or it's just a good line to start with. I liked Hot Shots: Part Deux better than the original, but they are both very worthy, especially since they don't cover the same ground. Favourite quotes (well, paraphrases) and other stuff: All the female characters have Rodham as part of their surname. "The secret to The Crying Game - She's a guy" Harbinger: "War. It's Fantastic!!" Hayman (on why he can't leave the prison): "...they've tied my shoelaces together." Harley: "A knot. Bastards."
