Considering that you have been shitting on the game many months before the release, Sakura, I'm not surprised that you don't like it, but am surprised that you bought it.

 

I start work tomorrow, so its going to be several weeks before I get the game.. I have been playing the hell out of SYM to hype myself up for HCTP... keep the nuggets of info coming, people.

 

Ki Krusher 99 made it into the game? Yes.... my SYM CAW Low-Ki was so damned dangerous, it wasn't even funny... now having a move or two patented by him is going to really complete him....

 

16 grapple moves.... damn, thats out and out crazy.... just remembering the moves in the heat of a match is going to be a challenge.

Not really... If you think about it.

 

You just pull off moves that mostly affect the area of the body that your finisher works on. Hence, if it works against the head, use head moves. And so forth.

 

That right there would cut your moveset to about 6-8 moves. Give or take.

I definitely have to agree with the previous sentiment. IMO, this game is leaps and bounds better than No Mercy! Finally!!

I was playing season with Lesnar, on Smackdown. I had started "The Varsity Squad" with WGTT... but that bastard Benjamin turned on me after it was announced he was getting a title shot at SummerSlam! Layed me out with a sledge and all!

 

Oh, and on a funny note... I had added Roddy Piper to the season and consequently he ended up taking the Cruiser title from Rey Mysterio and now no one has beaten him for it in at least five months!

Just a thought: I wonder if the list of "unlockables" gets added to after you complete the first year of season? I've noticed that some of the alternate attires that were outlined in previous articles about the game aren't in the unlockables list...

There are movesets, legends, create parts, arenas, attires and a bunch of completely useless things like diva loading screens and the ability to change the colour of the diva's underwear for b/p matches... I just hope that the list adds more useful stuff to it after completing season mode once.. I remember reading over at IGN that you'd pretty much have to complete two seasons to get the full list.. they probably just meant that it'd take you two seasons to get enough cash.. but a guy can dream, right?

Unlockable list is a little dissapointing. There are the legends, arenas, different colors for bra and panties matches, a couple of attires(not for a lot of people though), loading screens, and movelists. Not as exiting as possible, but still good to have.

I haven't had that happen yet.. but I was pleasantly surprised that Yukes added a few new animations into the post-match attacks. I was Lesnar and chose to attack Angle after a match. Lesnar went to leave, but paused and slowly turned around and went after Angle.. and instead of just doing the mounted punches.. he F5'd him! NICE!

 

Then there are just creepy things like Roddy Piper suggesting a threesome with Trish and myself backstage. I had to hold back the vomit....

I've had Eddie go off on me using the same promo he used on The Rock before their spectaculor match awhile back. He talked about how he took my (Cena) pictures off his daughters walls. So I kicked his ass 3 times in a row, even FU'd him on a car in the parking lot.

 

Must say this game is a lot harder then the old Smackdowns. I'll have matches averaging at least 10 mins, maybe more. In the old ones A standard match was about 3 mins for me.

The ref counts the pinfall in just about every match, with few exceptions.

 

I just came across one of those exceptions, which is more than likely what you saw in the video you watched online.

Speaking of refs (and the count is voiced.. except in multi man matches), anyone notice how technically sound they are this year? In SYM, when I was in a hurry I would hit the ref, get a weapon, and beat the hell out of my opponent. Well, trying to do that now usually leads to many reversals... the ref is quite tough to knock out!

I was offered a manager, and took one in the form of Victoria. She offered me some pie, but I asked "what kind?" and she got mad. Then Hillbilly Jim said he wanted to have some of her pie, so I beat him in a match. This eventually led to Victoria vs Hillbilly Jim at Vengeance, which she won after massive interferance by me. I kissed her after the match, she slapped me. The end.

I had a weird bug when I was playing as Cena against Eddie where I pinned Eddie, and the ref just stood there looking at me. Didn't go down and do any count. Kind of weird cuz I didn't attack him (the ref) at all.

I've really only been Flair in Season Mode so far, so I've only heard "Ric Flair sucks". I think it's basically "Heel Sucks! Heel Sucks!" and "Face's Name! Face's Name!".

There're also a lot of "USA!" chants.. even if all of the competitors in the match are American.. ahh, true to life.

 

RE: my season. To further the deterioration of my stable, Charlie Haas has now turned on me! He did the whole Austin/HHH/Car/Forklift thing with Lesnar in the car. *sigh* The Varsity Squad is dead.

Well, I FINALLY figured out why the game was so goddamn hard. It depends on your character and whom you're fighting against. The contrast in attribute points determines how quickly your Smackdown! meter builds. Also, if you target a certain area specificially, it builds quicker as well.

 

That's why the Undertaker is so hard. He has good stats, and all of his "soupbones" hit you in the stomach. So, his meter builds quick, his strength is 10 so he does tons of damage and then he hits you with his special.

 

I have the reversal system down now though, so it's all good. I won the title from Brock @ Wrestlemania in a Hell in the Cell match with Batista. I started with 67 overall Superstar points, and now I have 84 and the WWE Title.

 

I tell you what, the "Last Man Standing" match with RVD was the hardest match ever. It was at No Way Out, and apparently you're supposed to lose the match. Well, after beating down RVD for over half an hour, turning his entire body red from damage, busting him open, and hitting him with 7, yes 7 finishers, he finally stayed down for the ten count.

 

Then, after the match, apparently "the lights went out, Batista is out! There's Vince McMahon! DAMNIT!"

 

So, it said that I still lost the match. I got the $2000 for the win though. Weird.

 

Also, I was #29 in the Royal Rumble and when I came in, Booker T. was the only man in the ring. He was in the middle of a Spin-O-Roonie, and as soon as he finished, I clotheslined him over the top. RVD was #30, and I just grabbed him and chucked him as soon as he entered the ring. Then the storyline went into Bret/Lugar mode and they tried to say that my feet touched the floor, when obviously they didn't. That's what started all the RVD shit.

 

I have Takers respect and I'm in a feud with RVD, Angle & Edge. "A great rivalry has started. +5 exp."

 

Yeah, whatever.

 

So, bottom line, if you're just wanting money to unlock stuff in the season, pick someone like Goldberg or Brock because the matches will be a lot easier and you make money faster.

 

If you play season mode with a CAW, be prepared to lose...a lot.

I had the same scenario, but I chose my answers differently. I stared at Victoria's body and she said "I'm starting to get worried." Then Stacy came up to me backstage and tried to hit on me. This led to match (which I won controlling Victoria)and a bikini contest between the two, and I had to choose the winner. So, I picked Victoria. Then D-Von tried to hit on Victoria, so it led to a match between D-Von & me. I beat him in about 30 seconds. After the match, he said he wanted a match for Victoria or whatever, but it would be against Victoria.   A few Raw went by and I was winning and she was winning. I tried to say all the right things backstage. I ate her pie. Then, I hugged her, and we "got together" like Matt & Lita. Jim Ross talked to us both backstage and let us know that we made a good couple and that he was happy for us but warned us to "stay professional."   At the next PPV D-Von won the match because I was outsmarted by the game. I did a run-in and hit Victoria with a chair. Obviously my goal was to hit Victoria so D-Von would get DQ'ed and lose, but they still gave the victory to D-Von. So, D-Von got Victoria, and I decided not to win her back because I was worrying about getting the title.   It was Test/Steiner/Stacy mixed in with Matt/Lita & HHH/Steph/Angle   Pretty entertaining.

So here I am, about to have my WrestleMania match. As you know, if you've been reading what I've said, I'm Goldberg. Oh screw it, you should know that if you know my anyway.

HHH won the Royal Rumble, and the match was set to be Goldberg/HHH at WrestleMania. I had a match against someone, I think Jericho and I beat him. After the match, Jericho just started beating on me and then out of nowhere Ric Flair came down and took out Jericho for me. I thought for sure he was going to be in my corner or something come WM, and then he took ME out. He went on to say how I'm not worthy to hold that historic title that he has held 16 times, and that I couldn't even take care of myself. He demanded to take me on at WM, so he could take what is rightfully his.   I defeated Ric Flair in a normal cage match at the Royal Rumble.   HHH obviously wasn't pleased about this, so he decides to put his #1 Condership on the line in a match against Flair about a month from WM, and he says that he wants ME to be the special ref.   Well, to make a long story short I kicked HHH's ass in their match and did a VERY fast count to help Flair pick up the win.   So now, it's Goldberg/Flair, at WrestleMania, in a HIAC.   I almost wish I was Flair by this point, lol.

Well, my first season is over, woohoo.

 

I have unlocked every legend, except for Animal, and I only need about SD$2000 more to do that. I'm going to start a new season now, but this time instead of being someone like Goldberg, I'm going to be Ultimo Dragon. I want to unlock Animal really quick.

 

My first match with Ultimo, heh, is against A-Train.

 

I'm sure this will be a slightly different experiance.
