Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 According to house show results from Friday, Jericho went back to being a face. He defeated Flair via submission from the Walls. Plus according to recent wrestling rumors, Christian Vs. Chris Jericho for the Intercontinental Championship II is rumored to be added to Unforgiven card. If Chris goes babyface, I'll be happy. I know he's been a heel 85% of his career and he plays a damn good one, but I always liked him better as a face just like with Kurt Angle.
ANKLELOCK 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 I am excited about a Christian/Jericho match, but I have mixed feelings about this apparent turn. Jericho always was a better heel in my book. Besides, all of his face heat came from making fun of Stephanie.

TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 I would also like to add my voice to the pro-face argument. Can anybody else not watch him beat HHH for the title on Raw that time and not smile, if only for a few seconds?
Guest Rob Edwards Report post Posted September 7, 2003 By all rights this hsould be the completion of the old transformation High Mid card face switches to Main event heel switches to Main event superface Although for some reason I doubt Jericho's push will work like that, I'm not sure wHHHy though
clean rob 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 Y2J (and many other wrestlers) played face at house shows during heel runs before, this doesn't mean a face turn for Jericho is set in stone. I hope a turn does happen in the near future though, Jericho's heel promos are very good, but some of his face work was CLASSIC. Not sure what it'd mean for the Highlight Reel though. Silence 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 What the hell are some of you thinking? Do you want to hear him say "assclown", "junior", "jerky", "eeeeever", and "Would you please........SHUT, the hell, UP?!" every week again? Do you want to see him blow spots like he did in 2001 again? I sure as hell don't, and WWE is stupid if they turn him back face because it's obvious that it brings back so many bad memories for us that we'd like to forget. rising up out of the back seat-nuh 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 So, this would leave the top 3 heels on Raw as: HHH Kane Randy Orton All those guys are tied up in feuds, so who the hell is Jericho going to feud with? Flair? Test? Rodney Mack?
Silence 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 So, this would leave the top 3 heels on Raw as: HHH Kane Randy Orton All those guys are tied up in feuds, so who the hell is Jericho going to feud with? Flair? Test? Rodney Mack? Exactly my point. Of course, it wouldn't surprise me to see WWE drop Jericho as face down into the lower mid-card feuding with inferior wrestlers like Rodney Mack and Test.......while not being able to carry them in due to Jericho's tendency as a face to move too quick and botch spots in the process. Think of either one of those matches as being another pointless Jericho(face) vs. Kane(heel) match and anyone can probably figure out how a Jericho/Test or Jericho/Mack feud would start. *Jericho bumps into Rodney Mack and Jericho spills cappucino onto him* Jericho:"Sorry, Mack. My cappucino was too full, I guess." Mack:"You think this is about cappucino?!" Long:"Chris, you be haterizin' on Mack, bulleedat! Because tonight, you'll be facin' him one-on-one, and he'll be thuggin' and buggin' all over yo ass, playa!"
rising up out of the back seat-nuh 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 Actually, a feud between Jericho and Test (with Stacy involved) could do a good job of elevating Test. Jericho could carry him in promos and bring the workrate, while Test could just do power moves and work on his arrogant twat persona. Perfect.

KTID 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 Why would anyone in their right mind want to turn one of the best heels of the past five years into a face, when he's already had a face run and it bombed?

haVoc 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 How did Jericho's face run bomb? He was one of the most popular guys in the company during 2000/2001. He wasn't given the ball when he was red hot. Much like RVD.
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 Jericho is talented enough so that he can go either way. If the option is to turn Jericho or Triple H face, the logical choice is Jericho. His face turn by far did not "bomb". It may have been more memorable had he eventually beaten Triple H in their feud but that's hardly Jericho's fault. And I wouldn't get too worked up just because he worked 2 house shows as a face against Flair. Put anyone in the ring with Flair and that man will inadvertantly come out of the match as a face. The WWE had to rearrange the show a bit since Booker T and Val Venis, who were both scheduled to appear, couldn't show. Tommy Dreamer worked the same shows as a heel against Storm. Does that mean he's turning heel?
Guest Coffey Report post Posted September 7, 2003 I hate Chris Jericho as a face. I'm begging the WWE to not turn him face again. It will just make for stale jokes that weren't funny the first time that he said them.
LooseCannon25 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 I'd like someone to explain how Jericho's face turn bombed.......If you believe this then why dont you go rent or buy Royal Rumble 2000 and check out the fans reaction when he wins his match for the ic title....and then check out the reactions when his music plays in the Royal Rumble match as a surprise entrant......Monster pops for him. Also, check out when he defeats HHH for the title for a few minutes on Raw that night and tell me he bombed as a face.

Guest wwF1587 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 WAIT A MINUTE!!! Jericho is HEEL!?!!? But I have been cheering for him for months now. When he thought Goldberg, cheered him, TesT, cheered him, in the EC at summerslam, cheered for him. And against christian, i would cheer him. They might as well turn him face. I think he good all around.
Guest The Real Nosferatu Report post Posted September 7, 2003 I doubt he'll turn face....at least not yet. His program with Christian is probably a replacement for Booker/Christian, and fighting Flair makes almost everyone a heel, because its hard to boo Flair unless hes next to HHH. syxx2001 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 He's boring as a heel. The only heat he gets is from saying assclown and jackass every 5 words and his promos aren't even funny like they used to be. Like that time he walked in on Torri dressing and tried to explain himself to Kane....that was funny. Not this "HOLLYWOOD. HOLLYWOOD" bullshit that he did a month and a half ago. Maybe he should write his promos like he did in WCW.
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 NO! Please, don't turn Jericho! I love him as a heel. I don't mind him either way, but would way rather him as a heel. But if they must...
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 Well he was extremely stale as a face...now he is extremely stale as a heel...there's no winning.....Jericho can't be anything for to long...
Guest Random Hero Report post Posted September 7, 2003 Do you want to see him blow spots like he did in 2001 again? That's hardly down to whether he's a heel or a face. There's not really a significant change in his moveset, that I've noticed anyway. Jericho's annoying as hell as a face, as most people are. Thumbs down for a proposed face turn. He's boring as a heel. The only heat he gets is from saying assclown and jackass every 5 words and his promos aren't even funny like they used to be Six words...What About You? What About Raisin? Papacita 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 The thing I hate about WWE is that when they turn someone face, 9 times out of 10 they end up taking away everything about him that made him popular in the first place. I'd rather Chris stay heel. And on a side note, DAMN I would mark out for an HBK/Y2J heel team in the future.
The Tino Standard 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2003 Why not make him a tweener? He seems to play a pretty good shit-stirrer from both sides (heel/face) when necessary during the Highlight Reel.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted September 7, 2003 Jericho still cracks me up as a heel. I don't think that his character is stale...he's just been buried a little bit. He seems to be recovering from the Triple H effect because he hasn't really been around Triple H that much. Obviously he was around H³ @ SummerSlam, but he didn't have to mix it up with him. "The obesely expensive Jeritron 5000." That is comedy to me. C'mon...
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2003 But now, if he becomes a face, more people would love to see Jericho the World Heavyweight Champion.
clean rob 0 Report post Posted September 8, 2003 You haven't seen his WCW stuff then. You're quite right, I haven't...some of it does sound excellent from what I've heard, but all my favourite Y2J promos have been delivered during his face run...personal preference, I s'pose. I just think there's more potential for comedy gold Jericho moments when he's a face, it's not like he can't still be arrogant and cocky (and have his beloved Jeritron 5000). I just can't help but feel that both his mat work and promos are more naturally suited to being a face, I reckon Y2J could be a potential goldmine for WWE with the correct push...ha ha ha! Like that would happen! Oh well.
