bob_barron 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2003 Wrestling Star Triple H Pins First Film Roles 16 minutes ago By Josh Spector LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Hoping to fill Hollywood's current action-hero void, World Wrestling Entertainment star Triple H has signed on to a pair of high-profile roles. He will topline "Jornada del Muerte," a modern-day Western from "Apocalypse Now" scribe John Milius, and will battle Wesley Snipes (news) in New Line Cinema's "Blade: Trinity." "Jornada del Muerte" (Journey of Death) will be the first theatrical release from the recently formed WWE Films production banner. The project, which Milius said was written specifically for Triple H (whose real name is Michael Paul LeVesque) to star in, is described as a modern-day Western set in the Southwest that involves motorcycle gangs, drug trafficking and broken codes of honor. "The WWE has a tremendous storehouse for heroic action stars in Hollywood, and Triple H has a great sense of humor and rare combination of accessibility and inherent nobility," Milius said. "He is a working man's hero, something that has been missing in movies for a long time." While "Jornada" is the second project to be announced from WWE Films, following an action pitch from "Spawn" screenwriter Alan McElroy that the company acquired in July, it likely will be the first to hit theaters as the script is already in place. The film does not have a distributor at this point. In "Blade: Trinity," Triple H will play one of the heavies who take on Snipes' vampire-hunter character in the third installment of the franchise. The film is being directed by David Goyer. While Triple H has made several television appearances, "Trinity" will mark his first appearance on the big screen. Milius, who earned an Academy Award nomination for his work on the "Apocalypse Now" script, also wrote and directed the 1982 action classic "Conan the Barbarian." RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2003 Wow, the first film made by Vince will star HHH - who'da thunk it? RRR: Waiting for new comedy with Shane Mcmahon and Stephanie McMahon teaming up with Anthony Anderson and Monique called "Brothaz and Sistaz".

Karc 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2003 I hope Blade decimates his sorry ass. I can just imagine Snipes' line as he delievers the coup de grace. "You've got a job to do, and that's to die!"
Guest Super Pissed Smark Report post Posted September 16, 2003 It's really sad to see Milius has sunk this far but... "The WWE has a tremendous storehouse for heroic action stars in Hollywood, and Triple H has a great sense of humor and rare combination of accessibility and inherent nobility," Milius said. "He is a working man's hero, something that has been missing in movies for a long time." Well, at least he seems to know a real pigeon when he sees one. I wonder who else in this tremendous storehouse is ready to step up and shred some more of Vince's money. Undertaker? Big Show? Stephanie? Shane? The mind boggles. "Jornada del Muerte" (Journey of Death) will be the first theatrical release from the recently formed WWE Films Theatrical release? Always the optimists... Kinda have this feeling they may change that title, though since they're stupid enough to have that as the title to begin with you just never know. a modern-day Western set in the Southwest that involves motorcycle gangs, drug trafficking and broken codes of honor. I think I've seen that movie a few hundred times before. Though I've never seen it starring Triple-H, so, yeah, great. Milius, who earned an Academy Award nomination for his work on the "Apocalypse Now" script, also wrote and directed the 1982 action classic "Conan the Barbarian." Twenty years is sure a long time, isn't it? The film does not have a distributor at this point. No kidding. Is Vince really going to foot the whole bill on this project? I'm just in awe of Triple-H. He is truly incredible. How much cash is Vinnie down to? How much of his losses can be directly attributed to Triple-H? Wow. Just wow. Amazing.

boobshaw 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2003 Wait... what is everyone's problem with this? I would've hired HHH immediately for whatever movie I was producing (if I was producing a movie) just based on his skills in the YJ Stinger commercials. The newest one they showed Monday is just a testiment to his amazing acting prowess.

It's not even that a script came up that someone thought HHH might be a possibility for, Vince actually had a movie written for him. Insanity. I wonder how spewing water and flexing can be worked into a character in "a modern-day Western set in the Southwest that involves motorcycle gangs, drug trafficking and broken codes of honor"

Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted September 16, 2003 well we all got sooo excited when Edge got a role in the Highlander... he was in it for 3 minutes when the Mac Louds were kicking the asses of the highwaymen... Edge grabs a Boulder and wanders over to Connor but Duncan manage to get low and tap a sword blade to his crotch... Connor: Oh whats the matter? Duncan: You think he lost his EDGE mate? Connor: Or is it Lass? Duncan: Might be Lass yes. Dubbing HHH has a working mans hero is like Dubbing Hogan as a Box office Hit. Just doesn't work. that modern day western biker bullshit.....I can watch Stone cold with what's his face and Lance Hendrixen for that... Blade Trinity might be more interesting but then again HHH will be playing "Vampire #3" may as well slap on a red security officer's uniform and put him on star trek to be killed on a alien world while the 3 main stars investigate a plant or something. AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2003 Super Pissed Smark already got in all the witty remarks I had to say and then some, except for Spiff's reply. Still, this sounds great for us. A business move sure to waste millions of WWE's dollars, make HHH out to be a jackass and keep him off TV, and perhaps allow the talentless McMahons to be completely ripped to shreds by movie critics--damn, if only Zenk was still doing commentaries. evilhomer 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2003 "He is a working man's hero HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! ::deep breath:: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! I was thinking exactly the same thing. He was brought in as a blueblood too good for the world, then evolved into a somewhat cool guy, but still above everyone else, then back to that elite prick at the top of the ladder who looks down on everyone. That's a working man's most hated asshole, not his hero.
