The question of the moment: If the SWF released a "Best Of" VHS or DVD box-set, what matches get onto the compilation? This is an all-time list, and who knows? Maybe we could actually get a page on the SWF website together with some of the more popular matches so that n00bs and those who don't have a good back history of the early days can see them.

I'm still working on a list. Oh, and if you'd like to include a JL or ML match in the list, feel free to do so, because there are a few I'll probably have on my list.

I don't have any show names, but a few ideas regardless...

Edwin MacPhisto vs. Chris Raynor

Mark Stevens Wins The Clusterfuck

Tom Flesher vs. El Luchadore Magnifico-Ultimate Submission Match

Wargames

I haven't read many recent matches, so I appreciate you putting up with my outdated suggestions. :D

Rane vs. Spike

Chris Wilson vs. Stubby McWeed vs. Axis vs. El Luchadore Magnifico vs. King of Hearts vs. Grand Slam (I think that's the right grouping, but Mark might not have been in it) for the IGNWF World Title at Genesis II

HVille Thugg vs. Axis, ICTV/World Title match (I think this was a cage match)

Grand Slam vs. Edwin MacPhisto, Retirement Match

El Luchadore Magnifico vs. Tom Flesher, Ultimate Submissions match

The Boston Strangler vs. Erek Taylor, Street Fight

Midnight Carnival & Thoth vs. Magnificent Seven, Wargames Match

Edwin MacPhisto vs. Chris Raynor, Last Man Standing Match @ Genesis III

Justice & Rule vs. Deja Vu vs. Wild and Dangerous, TLC Match

TNT vs. El Luchadore Magnifico, Two Consecutive Falls Match

Tom Flesher vs. Frost, Window Pain match

Or maybe Tom. I think my joke would've been better had I used Tom. ;)

It was Neilsen, not Mark in that one.

Also, the 5-way Ice Water, G-String, Pole Match with Johnny Rotten, Mistress Sarah, Lady Red, The Prophet & Cardboard Comet definately needs to be featured.

Die Hard vs. Prime Evil, Triple cage match from the first 13th Hour. Even thought we lost that one, it should definitely be included.

Comet vs. The Soda Machine

Something from the Neilsen vs. Grimedogg era back in the day.

Can't think of too many more right now...

I'm glad someone mentioned the Stevens / Edwin retirement match.

I'd have to nominate one of the classic Midnight Carnival Stables Title Defenses. Perhaps the one where the belt was retired against Evil Inc..

Another big favorite from back in the day would be, I think this is the right combo anyways, The Fallen (Angelous and Molock) v. Y2Chris ver. One (Chris Storm and Chris Wilson, I believe).

The first CF match where PDS won.

And honestly, for some really new school stuff, the TBS v. Tom title match from two shows back.

Stables belt was retired against the IGNWO Mark, back when I was still a Carnie.

I've thought about this many times before, actually. I don't know how long the tape would run, but here's 10 essential matches that show the different aspects of the SWF at their best.

Edwin MacPhisto vs. Chris Raynor, Last Man Standing

Any of the Clusterfucks

WarGames

Mak Francis vs. Danny Williams, Iron Man Match

Ash Ketchum vs. Jay Dawg, Barroom Brawl Hide n' Seek Match

GENESIS II 6-Man

Edwin vs. Thugg vs. Bo, Last Man Standing

Tom Flesher vs. ELM, Ultimate Submission or Ladder/Submission Match

Comet/Axis vs. the Fallen vs. Silencer/ELM, Las Vegas Casino Brawl Match

Grand Slam vs. Edwin, Career Match

One or two odd ones that others might not think as essential, and of course there are loads more classics (I also neglected many recent goodies, as you may have noticed,) but eh, I think that that would be somewhat close to my list.

I was looking over this list and it suddenly occured to me that both matches people talk about the most involving me happened in a four month span from January 2001 to April 2001.

Even I forget about some of the pretty incredible matches from back in the IGNWF days...

Uh.

JL - Sean Atlas vs Crow - Hell In A Cell

This match deserves props, 10500 word monster which Sean and I wrote together. Too bad no one actually read it thoroughly.

I scoff at 10500. I wrote Wargames by myself! (This fact has been retconned by Frost Brand Enterprises Retconning Device and Food Dehydrator.)

Die.

And Crow, link away to the HIAC match please. I'll gladly read it, since I remember wanting to but sadly missing it.
