Today I'm smoking the Camels exotic blend Izmir Stingers. They have a mild fruity aftertaste, but otherwise taste pretty normal. According to the box, they're supposed to complement your cocktail, highball, or favorite shot, and I'm not much of a drinker, so I don't know.

Those aren't too bad. A couple of the new nifty Salem silver label flavors are ok, too. Thumbs up as well to Camel's Mandarin Mint, and the one which comes in the orange tin.

Smoking Accessory of the day:

I don't think I've posted here yet... Anyway, I haven't smoked for long. I'd accept the odd cigarette from smoker friends on occasion back in the day, but I never smoked regularly until February-March of this year when Mandy and I started ahving problems. I smoke her squares when I was with her... She was smoking Marlboro Ultra Lights in an attempt to quit, but soon switched back to Reds. I bought my first ever pack (reds) on March 30th, which I remember since it was WrestleMania. A couple weeks later, I tried my first Newport, and that was that. I can barely stand non-menthols now. Most people are shocked I can smoke so much since Newports are kinda strong and I am a relative n00b. I enjoy the buzz though... When I can't scrape together enough cash for Newports, I usually snag a the2-for-1 deal most places have on Salems (Black Label). 2 packs of halfway decent smokes for 3 bucks is hard to beat.

Try some Nat-Shermans. They come in infinite varieties of both menthol and non-menthol, one of which is a faggy type with multicolored cigarettes. The novelty of pink, orange, yellow, red, green, and blue cigarettes wears thin quickly, but is almost worth purchasing out of sheer silliness. They'll brighten your day.

Smoked my first home-roller yesterday. I was out, and a friend of mine offered me one after class. Once I got over the fact that there was no filter and there was nothing to really shape my mouth around, it was actually really good. I have to do some pricing and see if it's worth starting to roll my own.

Oh, it's definitely worth it in terms of money. However, if you don't feel like sitting there, rolling them all the time, and having people think you're rolling a joint, I'd say just buy them.

Try some American Spirits. They're insanely potent. I just bought a pack of their full-flavor menthols the other day. woof. Incredibly rich, and smoother than a Marlboro, I think. They also get stronger as you smoke more of them, it seems like.

Marlboro reg's 100's. Unless I'm drinking, I usually smoke half, BUTT it, and smoke the rest a little later.

I been smoking for over 10 years and I can make a pack last me a good 3, sometimes 4 days. All depends on the drinks, though.

Wheres the best place to find the Camels Exotic Blend. I'm in the US for a while and love to try interestingly flavoured cigarettes. They just don't seem to be sold in the usual newsagenty places.

I don't often smoke (all I really know about cigarettes is that I don't like camels) but what are the prices like on a cigarette roller and cigarette tubes?

I know that you can buy like, pre-rolled smokes with no tobacco, but they do have a filter. You can also buy some odd little machine that you put them in, stuff in the tobacco, and it does it for you. It's done fairly quickly, and I'd assume not only would it be cheaper then buying smokes, but it'd be pretty much like smoking a normal cigarette. But I honestly have no idea if the price difference is worth the effort, so whatever.

And Agent, I once knew a guy who had cops approach him while he was rolling in his car.

I'm sure they were quite surprised to see he was rolling a normal cigarette.

Oh, I've had a similar thing happen to me. I was sitting on the trunk of my car smoking a hand-rolled shitstack, and got a cop that asked me "What the hell do you think YOU're doing?" and basically assumed it was weed due to my appearance, which I didn't really fault him for, since I'm a shaggy bastard, but didn't HE just feel like a doofus when he realized it was just ordinary tobaccer.

TMM, yes there are tubes and hand-rollers you can get. The tubes are a fucking rip off. Just smoke them nonfiltered, and buy a mild blend, or something maybe flavored that you can hit lightly, if you're a pinklunger. A standard manual hand roller will run you a little less than 5 bucks, generally, and makes rolling about as easy as you'd figure. There's other ones where you place the stuff in a certain order, snap it shut, and a joint will pop out, and then there's even more esoteric doodads and whatsits that are electrical and shit. If you can't roll worth a damn, I'd recommend getting one of the cheapos, as they're easy to use, and aren't much of an investment. Plus, they roll a cigarette as good as anything else will.

Can you not buy filters seperatly in America? That's what I do generally, you get the filters seperate and just stick em in when rolling (which is none too hard honestly, with a bit of practice you can do them walking along, or in any other situations). Plus we have fantastic menthol filters which take any rolling tobbaco and make it taste like menthol tobbaco.

And any word on shops that stock the camel exotic blends? I'm in NJ if that helps

Thanks Agent, but it wasn't for me...I figured if Ace ever popped back in the info might help him out.

I do like the little joint rollers that are like, two plastic tubes with the plastic wrapped around them. Put your shit in, pull the tubes together, feed a paper in and bang. Done.

Good for people like me, who can't fucking roll.

You don't need to be able to roll if you've got some quality glassware.

For the guy looking for the Camel exotic blends..suck it.

Cheers for the info Agent but I'm moving around too much over here to be able to order anything mail order. Any suggestions to shops (none of the newsagents or tobaconnists I've been to had any)

Eh, that's all on you. They've got them at gas stations around here. I don't know about the east coast at all. I've been to NYC like...twice.

Anyone want to recommend a rolling tobacco to ask for at the drugstore? The only tobaccos I remember by brand are pipe tobaccos, which I'm guessing you wouldn't want to roll into a cigarette.

I've tried Bugler, Kite (menthol), American Spirit, and Jester, which was definitely my favorite. Look for leaf that's longer and stringier, aromatic, and moist. If you've got a good smoke shop in your vicinity, I'm sure they've got blends of their own.

Can we get this pinned or something?

'k. So I finally got my hands on another carton of Davidoffs, and they taste... well... blah. I can't tell the difference between them and the Marlboros now, honestly. I'm so disappointed - I remember when I first tasted them, and they were rich and smooth and chocolatey and stuff and I loved them. Now I almost prefer Marlboros; the Davidoffs taste a little weak in comparison. Almost too smooth. Anyway, I've got a very old pack of B&H in the drawer downstairs; I'm going to get those now and try them, see if varying the brand makes a difference.
