CanadianChris Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Player of the Postseason so far for the Sox is easy... MIKE TIMLIN!!! The dude has been nearly lights out throughout the postseason, showing his poise under pressure and just being great on the mound. If it wasn't for his relief pitching we may not be looking at a Game 7, maybe not even have won Game 6 either That's what having a double World Series winner will do for you. It doesn't get much more pressure packed than saving the final game of the World Series with the tying run on third.
Vern Gagne Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Who's the ALCS MVP going to be? If the Yankees win, and Clemens wins and pitches decent. He wins. If he doesn't, I'm guessing Mariano Rivera. For Boston Todd Walker or Tim Wakefield.
Cartman Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Talk about bad Karma... This is a bit scary as a Boston fan...
The Ghost of bps21 Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 BWAHAHAHAHAHA (I actually think the Sox win tonight) But COMEON!!!
Bruiser Chong Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Nothing wrong with being on top of things, but we've seen what planning ahead can do. Bernie Mac calling the Cubs the champs during the 7th inning stretch, anyone?
Mik Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 A special -- and final -- episode of "Chicago Hope" played out on Fox TV Wednesday night as the hapless Chicago Cubs were defeated in the seventh and deciding game of the National League championships by the Florida Marlins 9 to 6. The game averaged a 20.4 rating and a 29 share. The figures contrasted with a 9.1/13 for second-place NBC and a 7.5/11 for ABC. CBS trailed with a 5.9/8. Making a surprising showing despite the baseball draw was The WB's Smallville, which posted a 6.0/9 in the 8:00 hour to place third (behind the ballgame and ABC's My Wife and Kids). imdb.com
Bruiser Chong Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 I hope FOX enjoyed those ratings while they last because they're going to go to shit for the World Series, especially if the Sox lose tonight.
Mik Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Bartman is giving a phone interview on sports center RIGHT NOW.
fairtoflair7 Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 That had to be one of the funniest , most unsuspecting things on national TV in a long time. "Can you live in the city of Chicage anymore?" "Uhh, Dan....Do you like Howard Stern's buttcheese....? Signal off
Guest Ghettoman Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 That was the funniest thing I think I've ever seen on live TV.
bob_barron Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Can anyone post a video clip of it for those who don't get ESPN
JangoFett4Hire Posted October 16, 2003 Report Posted October 16, 2003 Ghettoman, THEY'RE is the contraction for they are "There no Yankees" is a total WTF sentence.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Torre has juggled the lineup..Nick Johnson 2nd, Giambi 7th, a couple other moves.. Im pulling for the Red Sox..
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Good luck to the Red Sox fans, this is going to be a great game. I am going to try and be as impartial as I can to enjoy this legendary game.
iliketurtles Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 I've got homework and other shit going on. But go Sox, damnit.
HarleyQuinn Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Go Sox Go! Oh man...thank god I'm not a 60+ year old fan otherwise I'd have gone through cardiac arrest at least 3 times this postseason alone
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Can Clemens last another game? Can Pedro become a Sox legend? Can the Red Sox beat the curse? All these answers and more tonight!!
Guest Choken One Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 winning tonight doesnt break the curse, the curse has a reverse effect for ALCS.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 If he throws the next one up and in he'll own Manny all night long.
Sandman9000 Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Roger's not hitting the zone, and threw 20 pitches in that first inning.
Sandman9000 Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Predictably, Soriano swings at anything that's within a foot of the plate and strikes out.
Guest Choken One Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 pedro looking crisp... With all this incredible stuff, wouldn't a No Hitter/perfecto be a AWESOME ending for the ALCS?
Guest Choken One Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Predictably, Soriano swings at anything that's within a foot of the plate and strikes out. Makes you wonder how the guy gets 40/40 the first two years...
Sandman9000 Posted October 17, 2003 Report Posted October 17, 2003 Thanks for nothing Jeter. Dammit Bernie, get A hit today.
