Papacita 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 Yeah, I've got time to kill between classes so I figured I'd start a thread to try and bring this folder back to life a little. Suppose God/Jesus/Jehova/Allah/Vishnu/Buddah/Aton/Zeus/Jupiter/Foley/Benoit/Urkel/Scooby/La Parka gave you the power to go back in time and relive one year of your life, what year would it be and why? Would you do anything differently? For me...I would probably go back and relive 1992, back when I was about 8 years old. That was a fun year. No real worries...we had Ninja Turtles, Ric Flair and Ultimate Warrior in WWF, the first season of Martin, Kriss Kross, Charles Barkley with the Phoenix Suns (that was my team back in the day), I actually had a girlfriend for a week or two...just a good year. As for what I'd do differently...well, some of you may remember me rambling about this girl named Tierra that I had this big ass crush on that I really never got over...well it was around that time that I started liking her. And I remember one day when we were on the school bus, she jumped into my seat and said that she wouldn't leave unless I kissed her. And of course, instead of being happy and really trying to do something with her, I basically sat there for about a half hour pretending I didn't like her, gave her a (really bad) kiss (at least it was on the lips), and shoved her back into her own seat. WHAT THE FUCK WAS WRONG WITH ME?!?!?!?!?! In my opinion, that was hands down the stupidest thing I've ever done in my entire life. 8 years old or not, that's not the kinda thing you pass up. Geez... Now your turn.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 Well, it would either be 1995 when I broke my neck playing football...just wouldn't have played football.. Or 1999 when I basically had sex everyday for a year. Wait, if I went back would I know what I know now. Like if I go back to highschool, would I be equiped with all the knowledge of how to get laid that I learned in college?

sfaJack 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 Wait, if I went back would I know what I know now. Like if I go back to highschool, would I be equiped with all the knowledge of how to get laid that I learned in college? That's the ONLY way I'd want to go back and re-live anything. If I could go back with all the knowledge I have now and knowing how things turned out in the end, then I would go back to 2000 and never let the one girl I've ever truly loved get away from me. I'm really starting to think that she was the one, and it kills me to this day, especially since we've started talking again over the last couple of months. Otherwise, if I wasn't allowed any of that knowledge, then things would probably be guaranteed to turn out the same way, and I really don't think I'd want to go through that a second time. Guest T®ITEC Report post Posted October 3, 2003 I'd have to go back to 1996. I was ten years old, and it was the year that we moved from Washington to Utah. I'd take a lot of pictures of everything in town... people, buildings, the lake, whatever. Just so I could have visual reminders of home. Or else I'd try my hardest to convince my parents not to move here. Perhaps I would go back to '86 and get myself killed. That would save me a lot of trouble. Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 3, 2003 I'd make sure To put a few dollars on all the unlikely upsets in sports before I go back... I can't really single out a BAD year I'd like to change, Maybe Sophmore year which was just horrible basic Adolescent year... 1992...The last year of Innocence...1993 was horrible and 1994 was the year we died... Guest Danny Dubya v 2.0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 I'd give the most thorough verbal ribbing to every teacher and one principle that thought I'd never get into a regular school, let alone make it through high school. Year 1995.
Zack Malibu 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 1996. Pretty much considered the best (chased the girl, got the girl) and worst (lost the girl, cousin was killed) year of my life. I think it's pretty obvious what I'd try to prevent if I had the power to go back.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 I'd probably have to go with preventing the football injury as well, a knee, that still hurts. 96 that was. Having my current knowledge would probably help with other things too... like, I don't know, rip off some Eminem songs that hadn't come out yet and become a famous rapper. Der Kommissar 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 I'd choose 2000 myself. that was a fun year as I dealt with college and bunch of other stuff. I think it would be fun especially if I retained the knowledge I know today. I don't think I could back to my high school years. I just can't fathom the concept of having to sit in a classroom for 6 hours everyday. Things I would change: 1) I would not buy various CD's, video games, etc. because I know they would suck. 2) I would get into Korean pop faster so I could buy various CD's that are now currently out of print. 3) I would give up and just use History as a major. I was trying to avoid that, but, in the end, I ended up with it anyway. 4) I'd screw with people. I would just mouth off some odd occurance that would happen in the future, then be like, "Yeah. Like THAT would ever happen." Then, of course, it would happen, and they'd wonder how I would know that. 5) I also would try not royally screw up with a particular girlfriend I had at that point. Of course, in hindsight, it's probably a good thing it didn't last. Of course, I don't know if I would want to go back into the past a few years. I'd miss too much of the things in my life now that make it great.
Guest TheGame2705 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 I'd go back to the beginning of June 03 when I was two months away from going out with my ex. I wouldn't have accused him of lying about his birthday. It still pisses him off and even when he gets out of school and wants to date someone again it won't be me because of that. Guest stardust Report post Posted October 3, 2003 2000. That way I could fix that one regret I do happen to have. Well, it's a nice idea, but in the end, I'm not sure how good of an idea it would be in the long run. But 2000 anyway, just so I could spend more time with a friend I haven't seen since that August. HarleyQuinn 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 Same here Rob, although I might go back to 6th grade(1997 IIRC). I would try harder in class and not slack off as much since that's been my ultimate downfall in terms of me being me(Although I am doing great Senior Year) and I wouldn't join that damned e-fed which helped cause my procrastination. And I would've tried to befriend a girl I like now but didn't know till 8th grade.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 I'd say '95 -- I would have put my mack down on a few chicks that I didn't know were attracted to me. We all have to be superficial once in a while...
{''({o..o})''} 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 I'd go back to 1999. Not fuck up the situation with my fiance by being jealous of her and her girlfriend. Not left the money I had invested in various web businesses which faltered soon after. I also wouldn't have gotten shitfaced during a company meeting, which got me a promotion when I called my boss a jackass to his face, but lead me on a trail of a career I really hadn't planned on. And last I would have made sure not to beat that hobo to death with that hammer when he asked for change.
Anakin Flair 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 2000-2001. I wouldn't screw up my friendship/relationship with this one girl that ended up leaving me with two years of depression because of it. Or highschool, so I could totally restore my old '72 Skylark, Style and Profile, and get that one girl I always wanted, instead of being a shy dork with a coll but falling apart car. CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted October 3, 2003 Last school year. I was hardly ever happy and I didn't care about anything. If I could, I'd change that. It was just one of those awkward years in High School, ya know?

Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2003 I actually have several choices: First would be 1994. I was 6 at the time and due to the fact that I was a little kid and was in 1st grade, I didn't have alot to worry so and life and school were easy. Plus alot of really cool things happened in 1994: 2Pac and Biggie Smalls dominating hip-hop. The beginning of the rise of the New York Yankees (They were in the playoff hunt before the baseball strike). The golden years of Saturday Night Live (Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, Phil Hartman). WrestleMania X. The Bret vs. Owen feud. The golden era of The Simpsons. MST3K on Comedy Central. The New York Yankees winning the Stanley Cup and the New York Knicks making it to the NBA Finals (and the Knicks-Mania that came with it. I still remember the song "Go, NY, Go, NY!") It wasn't perfect by any means (The O.J. Simpsons Trial. The MLB Strike. Lots of crap in the WWF. The whole Tanya Harding-Nancy Kerrigan scandal). But it was a great time for me and a great time for the world in general. It was also the 2nd to last year from my childhood that didn't have an earth-shattering life changing events happen (1996 was the last). If I could change things from 1994 with the knowlege I had now, I would probalby make myself spend more time with my friends. And I would record episodes of MST3K on Comedy Central so that I wouldn't be searching and buying episodes from the internet right now in the year 2003. But the years I would most like to go back to would defintley have to be either 1998 or 1999. Or more specifically September 1998-September 1999. That was when I was 11 and had to repeat the 5th grade. At first, I thought it would be a total nightmare having to repeat 5th grade, but I was proven wrong as 5th grade was the best year of elementary school for me. It wasn't perfect by any means (Boybands ruling the earth. Britney, Christina, etc. The fall of WCW. The end of Mystery Science Theater 3000. Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace was a big disappointment. The Knicks failing to win the NBA Finals.) Yet, it was still the best year of my childhood. I loved every day I was in 5th grade because I was in love with this girl in my class. I also made a ton of friends at my school. The good outweigh the bad (The Yankees dominace. Stone Cold and The Rock. The Simpsons still ruling. Some good music out in 1999 including my all time favorite song "Get What You Give" by the New Radicals. The amount of time I spent with my cousins. The fun I had with my cousins). Like I said, 1999 wasn't perfect, so if I could change things from 1999: First, it would be to record all the episodes of MST3K shown on the Sci-Fi Channel before the rights expired so that I wouldn't be searching for these very episodes today in 2003. Next, I would change the amount of time I spent with my friends. I hardly spent time with my friends outside of school and didn't even bother to contact them after 5th grade ended which hurt my friendships once 6th grade started. I spent more time with my cousins then I did with my friends. Finally, the most important thing I would change is the way I tried to get the girl I loved back in 5th grade. All I did was stare at her in class and that was it. The staring freaked her out. That killed any chance I had with her as she claimed that I was smothering her to the point of her hating me. I would change how I approached her. I would not stare at her as much and would be more relaxed when I talked to her. I would also HAVE the guts to talk to her and maybe even asked her out on a a date. I still wonder what might have been if I had acted different with her. Maybe she could have actually been the one. It still bugs me to this day.
Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2003 1996; To this point, that was far and away the best of my 28 years on this earth. Was still a young and motivated sailor, I had just got married, and I learned I was going to be a father. Good times. Shit, the best!
Guest SweetNSexyDiva Report post Posted October 4, 2003 I would say 1995. It was the end of junior year and the beginning of senior year in high school. It was a fantastic summer! The anticipation of being one of the top dawgs when senior year started. It was the first year that I wasn't in color guard, so no more short uniforms to school everyday or practice every morning and afternoon. I had been with my boyfriend for several years at this point and we had just started having sex. Lots of sex that year! And I remember having this feeling of confidence and self-assurance. I was very comfortable in my own skin, and it has been a while since I have felt that way.

Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2003 2001. I had the perfect living situation during summer; I slept on a futon in my room downstairs with the TV like a few feet away, the computer right outside the room, and I still had my dog back then and he'd make frequent trips to my room to keep me company. What'd I change? Um, well, nothing, I don't think. I can't think of anything I really hated from that year.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2003 2002. I'd tell myself that I'd start smoking, that Timmay and Jeff and Grampy died, that I'd lose my virginity at the beginning of Senior year (so I wouldn't obsess over it), and I'd make sure I NEVER CUT MY FUCKING HAIR. I'd also make sure I knew not to even bother trying to go out with Katelin again, because it will never work, and that Crystal might just be the most ecstasy-inducing person I'd ever meet. ...oh, and I'd say 2003 would be better for WWE, but worse for TNA, and that metal would make a comeback. Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 4, 2003 Would anyone go back to 2001 and try to stop 9/11? I doubt you could anyways since no one would believe you but you could always Book a flight on that first plane and bring down those Terrorists before anything happened... Or go back to 1999 and tell Owen "Hey, Check those Wires..." Or go back to 1996 and tell myself "Don't let that Guy manipulate you, He has no good intentions" Or go back to 1989 and tell my father to invest in Microsoft and Yahoo. Or go back to 2001 again and Tell Dale Earnhardt " Wear a Different Helmet and Don't worry, Your car will win, you don't have to protect them"
