TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2003 TNA has perhaps its biggest buzz since Jarrett/Raven right now with the big 3 Hr Show with Hogan/Jarrett...I just wanted to know if anyone had any ideas of what this show should be called as it will most likely become an annual event if it leads to a TV Deal...it could be TNA's version of "WrestleMania" or "Starrcade," no it terms of buyrates or gates, but in terms of prestige within the promotion. So let's have some potential names...
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2003 Why not "Starrcade," since that was the NWA flagship event?
Guest The Real Nosferatu Report post Posted October 6, 2003 The Fuck Vince Super-Show. TNA can bring in Joey Styles to rub that name in. LOL
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 6, 2003 WWE owns Starcade. They need to be smart about this nothing stupid like "Mayhem Manslaughter" or something you'd see from a shitty E-Fed.
syxx2001 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2003 Starrcade: The Next Generation or something like that would have been good. BUT, does WWE own the name or the spelling? Because ECW owned Rhino, so WWE changed it to Rhyno and Taz to Tazz, so why couldn't TNA change it to Starcade or Starrcadee or something.

TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 Would WWE own that too? If not, I definitely think that might work. Fans who have been out of the loop since WCW folded might be drawn to the name. Just a thought.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 They could use the "War Games" moniker since Vince doesn't own.
BifEverchad 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 It's hard coming up with a fitting name, that the WWE doesnt aready own, or isnt too indy-ish. I say: NWA-TNA: Double Trouble NWA-TNA: Tradition Reigns NWA-TNA: A Night to Remember ...or whatever.

Guest Randy Pan Report post Posted October 7, 2003 forget the name, what is it goig to cost? 3 hours AND Hogan? can't see them letting it go for $9.
Styles 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 Probably $20 but who knows, they gave away a show for 1 cent.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 I think "A Night To Remember" would be pretty good...
Tawren 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 Starrcade: The Next Generation or something like that would have been good. BUT, does WWE own the name or the spelling? Because ECW owned Rhino, so WWE changed it to Rhyno and Taz to Tazz, so why couldn't TNA change it to Starcade or Starrcadee or something. Marvel Comics owned Rhino and Looney Tunes owned Taz, not ECW. How about TNA: Screw The Fans Who Have Supported Us, We Want An Extra 0.00000000000000001 Buyrate By Bringing In Hulk Hogan, or for short, TNA: STFWHSUWWAE0.00000000000000001BBBIHH. Oh yeah. Guest The Notorious CRD Report post Posted October 7, 2003 How about this... NWA Total Nonstop Action presents November Reign.
Slickster 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 Technically, they could use Starrcade as long as they don't a) sell clothing with that name on it, or b) release a video/DVD of the show by that name. Everything else is fair game, according to the USPTO site.
TNABaddboi 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 Obviously they'll want to make t-shirts with the first traditional PPV on it...they had shirts made for the debut. And assuming they get their DVD act together, they'll one be on those too.

syxx2001 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 what about THE Starrcade. would that be allowed? like The WrestleMania, or something?
tommytomlin 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 How about TNA: Screw The Fans Who Have Supported Us, We Want An Extra 0.00000000000000001 Buyrate By Bringing In Hulk Hogan, or for short, TNA: STFWHSUWWAE0.00000000000000001BBBIHH. Oh yeah. How are they screwing over their fans by bringing in the biggest name in the history of professional wrestling, holding a three hour supercard and increasing their chances of getting a national television deal? Oh, and 'Night Of Champions' sounds good to me.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 Call me old fashioned... but just plain old "Supercard" or something like that would plain old rock to me.

RHR 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 How about... NWA/TNA LINE IN THE SAND Gives the effect that there is a "battle" of sorts going on, and, this could really be the chance to step up to the WWE...you know, a line in the sand, there is now a new kid in town, sort of thing. If....and this is a big If here....Hogan comes in right, it could lift the promotion somewhat....but...only if they DO NOT focus on Hogan, Piper, Jarett, etc...but...use them to get people to finally see AJ, AMW, etc...the guys they have never seen...it could be good. Besided, the WWE is prime for some shit talking now.
MrRant 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 NWA:TNA - *AGRESSIVE WORD NOT COPYRIGHTED BY THE WWE FOR A PPV TITLE*
Slickster 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 Obviously they'll want to make t-shirts with the first traditional PPV on it...they had shirts made for the debut. And assuming they get their DVD act together, they'll one be on those too. Call the DVD something else, like how IYH tapes were called 'Winter Combat' or something. And you could work around the clothing issue by not putting the event's name on it, just the date/place/matches.
HandofFate 0 Report post Posted October 7, 2003 A Night To Remember sounds very good. Supercard also sounds really good. Hey...what if we all e-mail Boreass and see if the fans can send in ideas for the title and then they can go online and vote for the name? That would get some publicity too. Whacha think?
