DMX

Recommended Posts

Oh man, I don't know what to say. I'm listening to the Grand Champion right now and it's pretty damn funny. His lyrics are just soooo terrible. "The D to the M to the X, y'all niggas havin sex with the same sex." HA! I know most songs with lyrics are generally considered bad by somebody, but this shit is universal. Who else finds this hilarious? I won't even get into how bad of an actor he is in the video (YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS!) or the latest heartfelt rap ballad with "AYO KATO", complete with every cliched idea possible, both in the video and the actual song. I actually do a pretty good DMX impression myself, which only reveals how ridiculous this crap is.

Oh Lord is this shit so bad it's brilliant. Anyone else feel the same way I do?

If you don't know much about Dark Man X (it just doesn't stop), or rap in general, what other bands/artists do you find so bad they're hilarious?

Actually, let's try to make this more about EARL SIMMONS, as he hasn't had much discussion devoted to him at TSM...

Still not as bad as this

"Invisible kid

Never see what he did

Got stuck where he did

Fallen through the grid

Invisible kid

Got a place of his own

Where he'll never be known

Inward he's grown

Invisible kid

Never see what he did

Got stuck where he did

Fallen through the grid

Invisible kid

Got a place of his own

Where he'll never be known

Inward he's grown

Invisible kid

Locked away in his brain

From the shame and the pain

World down the drain

Invisible kid

Suspicious of your touch

Don't want no crutch

But it's all too much

Invisible kid

Locked away in his brain

From the shame and the pain

World down the drain

Invisible kid

Suspicious of your touch

Don't want no crutch

But it's all too much

[Chorus]

I hide inside

I hurt inside

I hide inside, but I'll show you…

[Chorus]

I'm OK, just go away

Into distance let me fade

I'm OK, just go away

I'm OK, but please don't stray too far

Open your heart

I'm beating right here

Open your mind

I'm being right here

Open your heart

I'm beating right here

Open your mind

I'm being right here, right now

Invisible kid

Never see what he did

Got stuck where he did

Fallen through the grid

Invisible kid

Where he'll never be known

Inward he's grown

Open your mind

I'm being right here, right now

Ooh, what a good boy you are

Out of the way you're kept to yourself

Ooh, can't you see that he's not here

He doesn't want the attention you give

Ooh, unplugging from it all

Invisible kid floats alone in his room

Ooh, what a quiet boy you are

He looks so calm floating round and around in himself

Invisible kid

Locked away in his brain

From the shame and the pain

World down the drain

Invisible kid

Suspicious of your touch

Don't want no crutch

But it's all too much

That would be Might Metallica...

I paid .087 cents for the rights to copy and paste those lyrics according to the Metallica Doctrine of the Internet Usage rights of personal Use for personal gains of self use.

You're right, the lyrics are pretty funny, but that's cool. Reminds me of CB4's Straight Outta Locash, one of my all time favorites.

"Float like a cannonball

Sting like a shark

I'm the nigga waitin for you in the dark"

Straight outta locash? Is that like Straight Outta Compton, but a parody?

Because the best part of DMX is that he's 100% serious.

Ya, that's what I'm saying, DMX doing CB4 level lyrics in all seriousness, that's funny. Straight Outta Locash is damn funny though, you oughta give it a download. Here's the complete lyrics (from memory, so close enough):

Straight outta locash

Crazy motherfucker named Gusto

I fucked your wife cuz the bitch is a big ho

I fucked your sister, I fucked your cat

I would fuck your mom but the bitch is too fat

When I'm in your neighborhood you better dig a moat

cuz I'm coming to slit your motherfucking throat

blood is drippin, I'm not slippin'

bitches panties is what I'm rippin

rolling faster than a motherfucking dirt bike

I never met a piece of pussy that I didn't like

like to eat it, like to suck it

take a shit in a bucket... Straight Outta Locash!!

Straight outta Locash

a crazy motherfucker named Dead Mike

So get ready cause you're goin for a long hike

off a cliff, I'm drivin you over

Now ya dead with ya fo' leaf clover

Float like a cannonball, sting like a shark

I'm the nigga waitin for you in the dark

Waitin to rob you, waitin to beat you

A bullet in ya head is how I greet you

A villain with a hat, and it's like that

I tied yo' moms to a motherfuckin train track

Flat on her back, I give her some crack

It's ten o'clock - DO YOU KNOW WHERE YO MOMS IS AT?

At my house (doin what?) wipin her ass

She had to move... STRAIGHT OUTTA LOCASH!!!

In the intrest of disclosure, I have found myself shaking my BUTT to where the hood at. I take it the rest of the album doesn't quite measure up.

As a fan of both the single and DMX, I know what you mean. The rest of the album isn't as good as the single.

"This week, DMX and his wife Tashera Simmons were in court facing a five count indictment on weapons charges and child endangerment stemming from a 1999 search of their home. Attorneys for DMX and his wife claim that the search of his home was illegal and did not have the proper authority to enter the house. Judge Donald Venezia adjourned the hearing until May 15 because a key prosecution witness was unavailable for testimony.

The charges stem from a 1999 incident when police were investigating the shooting of DMX's manager Ray Copeland. At the crime scene, police found a purse containing Tashera's ID so they went to the house. According to the NY Daily News, DMX's mother-in-law Marcia Tate answered the door and told police that DMX was smoking crack, acting crazy and flashed a gun in the days leading up to the shooting. When officers searched the house, they found a loaded 9mm handgun, six used glass cocaine-smoking pipes and a large amount of ammunition. Upon searching further, police found 14 pit bulls, marijuana and rotting garbage in a second floor bathroom. The rapper's children a 15-year-old son and a 6-year-old daughter were also present during DMX's alleged drug binge. The rapper and his wife were arrested and indicted in August 1999. "

Don't worry you aren't alone.

Some people just have a dildo up their asses and can't just listen to music for the fun of it.

What does that have to do with anything?

What? He doesn't listen to the depress scream at my lungs without making ANY sort of sense but if I play basic and loud and fast then that can Masquerade for the fact we can't sing for shit type music that me and yourself perfer...does that mean that "Popular" music is anything you don't like?

Besides...DMX=Party Music...

I passionately hate this album honestly. The scary part is that Rappers NEVER retire (like wrestlers) and he will be back in 2 years.

Remember when Too Short retired about 15 years ago. Or Jay-z retiring with...was in LITOSC vol. 3?

I think he'll retire and just do movies as long as he can control his drug habit. I doubt Mase is coming back anytime soon with a gospel rap album. Most part Rappers always say they're going to retire: Too Short (has a new album coming out btw), Master P, Ja Rule, Rakim, and Jay-Z. The only way you can retire from the rap game if you're forgotten by the fans.

I don't think Anthony Anderson has enough time to carry him through movies anymore. He can't act, and will never be anything more than a direct to video movie star. He will notice this soon.

Generalizations.

Just because I like some "Popular" bands doesn't mean I don't like other bands as well. Most mainstream music is garbage, hence why I never listen to the radio. I just buy tons of CD's and listen to the whole things and I find that many songs that are on the radio are usually the worst ones on the album.
