Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted October 14, 2003 Report Posted October 14, 2003 I have a way for the WWE to make an ASSLOAD of money by doing NOTHING. 1. Go through the massive tape library (WWE/WWF, WCW, ECW, AWA) 2. Look at all the matches and assign each a "Points value" based on importance and quality. 3. Put this info in a big catalog 4. Offer 25.00 for a "10,000 Point DVD" and 15.00 for a "5,000 Point DVD". Let the fans pick any combination of matches that add up to their amount and charge them the amount in exchange for the DVD. In short, become the biggest, most profitable tape trading place EVER.
MooreMark Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 It's great and all but I doubt the wwe has enough staff or intelligence to make this thing work. Every order would be different meaning the making would take forever.
Guest Choken One Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 Exactly...I shudder to think of all the mishaps... It would be too hard to get the right tapes to the right people and it would be alot of manhours to speciafially do everyone of them

They can put a HUGE chunk of tape-sellers out of business for good.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 Listen, I'm not saying they can do this tommorow. It would take organization, and some manpower but it's a DVD trading site on a much bigger scale. That's all.
Slayer Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 "Let's see-uh... we'll assign-uh 1,000 points to any match-uh with myself, Nash-uh or Michaels, and then to everyone else, we'll make their match worth... a million-uh points"
Guest Choken One Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 I'd Say stick to making great DVD's like the Flair dvd and things will be peachy...
Guest Choken One Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 dont forget the political bullshit of which match is worth what...
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 Honestly, I'd be up for this. Good idea, Zsasz.
Downhome Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 This would be a great idea if WWE ever knew what the fuck was going on.
razazteca Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 DVDs is the only way this would work give it a 2 year wait so the format confussion can fix itself.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 Think about this as well: You people could never again bitch at the WWE that you didn't like a DVD or that there's no DVD of Benoit or Stacy or whoever. Because the WWE could just say: "Make one yourself." The money saved in Excedrin alone would be tremendous.
Guest Choken One Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 Would it be like...You order it and they send you a List or something and you select your "point value" and you pick your matches on like a Paper where you poke holes in them (like a All Star game ballot) and you send it back and it takes 6 months to get it back?
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 Would it be like...You order it and they send you a List or something and you select your "point value" and you pick your matches on like a Paper where you poke holes in them (like a All Star game ballot) and you send it back and it takes 6 months to get it back? Here's how I'd do it. Charge $ 5.00 for a Complete catalog of the WWF/WWE, WCW, OVW, SMW, ECW, and AWA matches offered. (they don't have to file them all at once, they can have "updated versions" and such.) Assign each match a number (E67R510 or something), grroup them and give each a points value. Enclose order forms where the people write the ID Number of the matches they want and what size DVD they want. They send them in. (Ideally the library would be organized so matches would be easy to find by their ID Numbers) The guys put the matches on a DVD. Put it in a DVD case that says "YOUR NAME'S PERSONAL WWE DVD #001" or however many DVD's you've ordered, and ship it.
Downhome Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 Screw the idea of writing stuff to them. Just have them offer a catalog to the public, and to make your choice and to place an order, have it so you can do it either online or on the phone. Just like Columbia House has it set up. Just instead of picking different DVDs, you pick the matches.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 Two more things to think about: 1. Think how much money tape traders make off of footage that they don't own or have any rights to. Think if 70% of that money spent was suddenly the WWE's. Think what a gigantic financial boost that would be. 2. By looking at what current wrestlers get the most match requests we'd finally have the most fool-proof way to see which wrestlers the people REALLY want to see in the ME.
iliketurtles Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 WWE is more likely to release whole events as opposed to matches. And that won't happen anytime soon.
The Mandarin Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 One question- How many points for Jackie Gayda/Nowinski vs. Bradshaw/Trish Stratus? I want to rewind this one over and over again.
Nevermortal Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 Fuck this idea. I'd say a true guaranteed way to make the WWE money is to whore out the Divas. Prove me wrong.

Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 this is a great idea because I bet I could get every Taka match ever for like 80 cents.
Highland Posted October 15, 2003 Report Posted October 15, 2003 If they did this, they'd charge a shitload for these custom-made DVD's. They won't be cheap and I'd expect to pay at least $100 per set. Great idea in theory but I doubt it's viable in practice.

How fucking much does it cost to make a Compact Disc? (Give up?) They are VERY VERY CHEAP. If they get their library oragnized they could charge 20 bucks a DVD EASILY. They'd make a big profit since the expenses are minimal. I'm not saying "sets" dumbass. Read the goddamned posts.

This is the right idea...they'd only have minimal in house cost for promotion , packagin, etc. of the DVD. Instead of having a physical catalog, just set up a web based catalog.
