Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Battier is a SF, Kobe is a SG Well, that's odd... Yahoo has him as a SG, not a SF. Yahoo also has Dirk as a Center when we all know he'll never play that position

Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Dirk is a FC its the position that all 7 foot PF get listed as ok, but he's just listed as a Center on yahoo...I don't have him on my team so I don't know if they would allow you to play him on PF or F but he's just listed as a Center Battier's natural position is SF though, he played it in college and last I knew he was playing it in Memphis
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Well Dallas is proving you aren't going anywhere when you can't play Defense. They have no shot blocking presense and nobody is doing anything on transition D

I've got him at F with Z at C. Dirk has like 19 pts and 13 reb, and 9/12 ft, but he's 0-6 from 3pt land.

Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Phil Jackson shouldn't allow either Kobe or Shaq to speak to the media anymore, just allow Karl Malone to be the team's spokesman...because after the interview he just had I have a new found respect for the man

Guest Smell the ratings!!! Report post Posted October 29, 2003 my thoughts on last night's LA/Mavs game 1. Magic Johnson?.....Halftime Show?....NOOOOOOOOOOOOO 2. Dallas' new unis are hideous. 3. This Lakers team reminds me of the late 90's Bulls, a bunch of crotchety old guys who made everyone looks stupid with thier passing and cuts.
Ripper 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Thoughts on the games I saw last night. 1: I think I am going to have to literally go to Phoenix and chop Joe Johnson knee for them to get that guy off of the fucking court eating up the miutes at the 2 guard. The team played 50 times better during the 16 minutes that Penny was in there...ugh. 2: I have more confidence in our 7'0 draft pick. He has some great handles for a guy that size and a good touch from the outside. He and Stodimire should be the starting front court. 3: Frank Johnson has no idea how to use his personnel. 4: The Spurs will be the best team in the league again this year. AC is a solid backup, Mercer/Turk looked okay, it just will take some time for this team to gel. 5: The Mavs just need time to gel. The looked like a bunch of guys that hadn't played together before, and given time they will put up a shitload of points but their defense will remain non existant. They will have a great record and lose in the second round of the playoffs from the number 3 seed. 6: The lakers did well against a non defensive team, but I can already see how the lack of shooting and interior defense is going to hurt them. They will do well, but not the astronomical 70 game season that some people have been predicting. 7: Kobe not playing was a great thing. The players out there obviously knew each other due to the preseason and worked well of one another. Fisher handled his role better than I would have expected. Kobe being on the court will change the entire offense and the offense they ran last night was what they need to win. It will be intresting to see what happens when the rapist(allegedly) gets back. Guest Just J Report post Posted October 29, 2003 The Spurs looked pathetic and The Lakers were great without Kobe. Both of which I called.
NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 The Lakers looked good, but not great. The Mavs can't play a lick of D and have a lack of an inside game it seems. When you are a shooting team like the Mavs, it is always going to depend on if your shots are falling. Steve Nash also had a bad night.
Tony149 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 The Spurs, not surprisingly, started off horrible. And if you're a Spurs fan, that shouldn't bother you as they've won both their championships (1999 & 2003) after they started off slow. Once the team gels they'll provide trouble. Plus they play better as the darkhorses who hardly get respect. Ron Mercer showed some fire; he looked like he had something to prove. Bill Walton said it best, if Mercer can't turn it around in SA he's never going to. Like some have said, the new Mavs jersey's suck. But they won't be the only Texas team wearing silver (and that was one weird looking silver they wore) as the Spurs will break out the throwbacks for Saturday home games. I can understand the hype LA is getting but I'll wait until they play a defensive team before making a judgement. I don't think they'll win 70+ games or win the title, but they'll provide some interesting games, that's for sure.

razazteca 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Carter and Mercer both looked good in the game that is the only thing that matters at this point. Now if only the Spurs can get some points out of Nestorvich.

razazteca 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2003 Spurs are playing another sloppy game, if Nestorvich cannot score double digits then they need to start considering shooting more 3s or make more plays for Turkolu and Mercer. Missing easy layups are not helping either.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted October 30, 2003 those Mavs jerseys are ugliest thing I've seen in years. Yeah, those were fucking TERRIBLE. Good to see the my Magic pull out the OT victory and T-Mac finally control the game at the end of the 4th and in OT. LeBron's been money so far, but Carmelo is still going to be ROTY.
