1234-5678 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 from www.roadrun.com/blabbermouth.net/ STONE TEMPLE PILOTS/VELVET REVOLVER frontman Scott Weiland was arrested on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs and misdemeanor hit-and-run following a traffic collision that occurred in Hollywood Monday morning, BLABBERMOUTH.NET can exclusively reveal. The singer, who turned 36 on Oct. 27, was driving alone near the corner of Melrose and Orange avenues at approximately 6:30 a.m. when he lost control of his BMW and struck several parked cars. He allegedly attempted to leave the scene of the accident and was quickly apprehended by police. Weiland was released from jail Monday afternoon after posting $15,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in Los Angeles Municipal Court on November 17. Prior to his latest arrest, Weiland had completed most of the drug testing and counseling required after he pleaded no contest in August to two felony drug-possession charges. Judge Colette Serio told the singer in a Pasadena, California, court last week that he may remain free while he tries to kick his habit, but that could change should he not test clean. He was due back in court for another progress report in January.
Zetterberg is God 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 How many chances do we give this guy? I don't care if he is a talented singer. He needs to be jailed for a while. Maybe then he'll learn (but probably not).
Guest HoffmanHHH Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Man, I love Weiland as a singer, but the guy's just such a loser in life. I genuinely hope he gets his shit together one day, but until then, maybe someone ought to give him more than a slap on the wrist.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Fuck this Egomanaic. Barely talented Jim Morrison knockoff...Send his ass to jail where he belongs, not another petty slap on the waist probation charge.
Guest Hutch Report post Posted October 29, 2003 So much for Velvet Revolver. Anyone know when GNR are eligible for the Rock N' Roll Hall Of Fame? A one-night only reunion would be crazy.
PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Does a week go by where he isn't arrested? He is like the Rodney King of rock.
Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted October 29, 2003 The only time he writes good music is when he's loaded on Heroin. Shangri- LA DEE DA was supposedly written while he was sober and it Shangri- LA DEE sucked
{''({o..o})''} 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 Aw, hell. I was a week off in the office pool on when he'd be areested again.

A one-night only reunion would be crazy. 2007. I think the rule is a band is eligible 20 years after their first record was released. But, could they get Axl out of the house? Red Baron 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 i thought it was 25 years, cause the Clash was put in in their first year, and that was 2002.
Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted October 29, 2003 hmm AFD came out in 1987 + ten years = 2007? Something look wrong here? Well the first GN'R record wasn't AFD, it was LIVE! Like A Suicide, so wouldn't that make them eligable in 2005?
1234-5678 0 Report post Posted October 29, 2003 from rockhall.com "Artists become eligible for induction 25 years after the release of their first record. Criteria include the influence and significance of the artist’s contributions to the development and perpetuation of rock and roll." My fault, 25 years. Guest Nanks Report post Posted October 30, 2003 That's the idea. Just whack all the drug addicts in jail, what an intelligent use of resources. Ummm, how about taking away his fucking license and car and ordering him to go into rehab??
Vyce 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2003 I love Scott, I love STP, but people are just going to have to face the fact that guy's probably never going to be completely sober and probably will be dead sooner rather than later.
A Happy Medium 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2003 Sucks. I remember when he had like his first stint in rehab...I was ten and in day camp where we made arts and crafts all day. He probably won't die that soon....I think he'll probably go on like Jake Roberts or something.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2003 So much for Velvet Revolver. Anyone know when GNR are eligible for the Rock N' Roll Hall Of Fame? A one-night only reunion would be crazy. Wouldn't happen in a million years. Axl's too fucking bitter and proud to confess he was wrong. Wow, I just described Vince McMahon. UYI

haVoc 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2003 Right. Slash is probably the one who got him fucked up. I love Scott and STP and was looking foward to the new band but this stuff pisses me off. How many damn chances can one guy get? Might as well get it out of the way now... RIP Scott

How many damn chances can one guy get? Might as well get it out of the way now... RIP Scott I am not the most staunch Slash supporter these days, but insinuating that he got Weilland onto drugs is fuckin ridiculous. Weilland has been fucked up since like 1994. He just started working with Slash, what 6-8 months ago?
Guest Plushy Al Logan Report post Posted October 30, 2003 Right. Slash is probably the one who got him fucked up. I thought Slash and Duff cleaned up for the "Use Your Illusion" tour. Spoiler (Highlight to Read): Weiland, Keith Richards, Jake Roberts, Ozzy Osbourne, Nikki Sixx, twinkies, and cock roaches will form an alliance to destroy the Earth with nuclear weapons. Repent people!

haVoc 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2003 It was actually more sarcasm towards Slash for this... According to snakepit.org, Slash has said that Scott Weiland did have the accident and did attempt to leave, but he was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Slash trying to cover for Scott. I know, I mean I think the arresting officer would be in a better position to judge Weilland's sobriety. Well, actually I don't know about officiers ability to judge that. My buddy spent two nights in jail about two months ago for alledgedly driving under the influence when he hadn't had a single drink the entire day.
haVoc 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2003 Two Nights in jail? 1) How fuckin' drunk did they think he was? 2) Didn't they give him a breathilzer(sp?) test? I have two DWI's myself and I was always released after they booked me. I called a cab both times and went home that night and my second DWI I had a alcohol level of .

I have two DWI's myself and I was always released after they booked me. I called a cab both times and went home that night and my second DWI I had a alcohol level of .22 It's kind of a long story, but he was parking, couldn't get in a spot, pulled into another and the cops saw this. They kept asking how much he had to drink and things like that and finally my buddy snapped at them and asked for a breathilizer. They took him to the station instead and made him get the blood tests. Cops are then allowed to detain you for 48 hours. The best part is at his trial the judge got the results of the blood work and told the prosecuter. The prosecuter asked the cops about this and they said my buddy was on a "Mystery Substance". At least the judge had enough sense to laugh this off and throw the case out. But it ended up costing $750 in lawyer's fees to drive sober.
