The Dames Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 Last week, a poster by the name of Sakura was banned in the No Holds Barred folder (now Hardcore Discussion) for wishing death on the poster The Mighty Damaramu. They were in the middle of a heated discussion in the WWE folder where the subject of wishing death on Vince McMahon became a running gag. She posted a thread entited "I wish death on Damaramu" in her first post in NHB and was banned for it. She since made her plea to myself and the mods based on the fact that she didn't know that was against the rules (since it wasn't in the Rules & Regulations and never went into NHB and the thread was clearly a joke) and the mods and I have decided that she will be allowed back in. This will be the last time something like this will occur. There have been too many incidents where people have confused "No Holds Barred" to mean that anything goes and that is certainly not the case. Dames

I was never a fan of Game, but it does seem screwy if he stays banned for a similar incident. I know Game used hostile intent with his thread, but as you said "it wasn't in the Rules & Regulations."

Sorry to anyone on the board if I'm just sounding like whatever (I can't think of the word), but really, even I wasn't clarified on the whole "banned if you say someone will die" until I read that thread she created and found out that was what she was banned for. And nothing else. I mean, you should've seen me going "um... But I've stated in joking something like that in the NBA Fantasy Thread" yet here I was/am. Shouldn't I have been banned too? Just cutting out to say, that yes, I know that Game said the same thing and he was banned, but I also know (from speaking with him via AIM) that yes, in fact, he was warned about previous offenses, so I figured that on top of the "death of ----" he got booted. Back to the topic, I don't care for the rule. Really don't. I think it's a silly rule personally. Sure, wishing someone's death is lowballing it, but come on. How often do you actually mean it? Rarely. And come on, how often not do you say it in spite? I have done it to my own family members no less. Do I regret it afterwards? Of course, and I've always apologized to the people I've offended with it. I mean, yah, it's not the greatest thing on a messageboard, BANNING? Call me unimpressed and frankly wondering how that ALONE makes it ok for a person's banning?

Dames I know it's your board and I have said this to you COUNTLESS times but when stuff like this occurs and you take back something that has been set, it doesn't look good on your part. Think about it, how long before something else happens, and you decide to be wishy washy on your decision. One more thing, what is the point of having "The OFFICIAL TSM Rules and Regulations, Please read before posting" if people can get away with the excuse of "Oh I didn't know I didn't read the rules".

It was an obvious joke and Dumbmaramass was being a prick and following her from thread to thread. If anything, this sets a good precedent that bullshit bannings can be reversed.

I never had any major problem with her, but I see nothing but a big bullseye painted on her if she comes back after this incident with a couple different posters taking close aim.
