RHR 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2003 I got to thinking last night, who is smark proof? I mean, which wrestlers invoke such a good feeling that really nobody hates them? For me, I would think of guys like Bret Hart, Foley, and possibly Andre. Andre more for nostalgia--obviously the guy wasn't exactly a great wrestler....but really, who can do no wrong? Like I said, my votes are for Bret and Mick, mostly.

Jack_Bauer 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2003 I haven't seen a lot thrown at Spanky so as far as I know, he has avoided the backlash of the smarks.

Jack_Bauer 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2003 A good number of smarks hate on Bret Hart That's what I always thought. Personally, I don't mind Hart, but I was always under the impression that a lot of people don't like him.
CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2003 There was a lot of hate for Foley when he unretired for WM2000. Really, no one is immune.

CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2003 Ric Flair Chris Benoit Toshiaki Kawada Mitsuharu Misawa Jumbo Tsuruta Jim Cornette Arn Anderson No way to Flair. He doesn't get universal love, especially when it comes to best wrestler ever discussions. Same with Benoit and best wrestler today discussions.
Guest JMA Report post Posted November 23, 2003 Dynamite Kid Ric Flair Arn Anderson Chris Benoit Kurt Angle That's all I can think of. Edit: I forgot to add Ricky Steamboat.
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted November 23, 2003 Flair totally does. He was as big of a politician backstage as Triple H but no one EVER talks about that. I'l admit Benoit gets a bad rep for not being a strong talker, but everyone blows their load about his in-ring work. I'll add Jushin Lyger to my list as well. I really agree with Ricky Steamboat. But Kurt Angle? Are you on glue? Everyone is on that cats back. You might as well suggest Bill Goldberg.
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Report post Posted November 23, 2003 Chris Benoit Kurt Angle They do get a lot of criticism when discussing 'whos the best?' and all that.

Ace309 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2003 Owen hart, although that'll trigger the knee-jerk reactions of "BUT HE BROKE AUSTIN'S NECK!" Note that those only come up when someone mentions that Owen was smarkproof.

Papacita 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2003 Benoit...I've never heard a smark express any kind of dislike towards Chris. Jericho to a lesser extent. Chris gets a little criticism for his mic skills and for being sloppy from time to time. I wasn't on the net all that much when he was alive, but I've never heard anything bad about Owen. Steamboat too. And Chyna...who doesn't love Chyna?

Guest RollingSambos Report post Posted November 23, 2003 No one is really immune. I consider myself a smark and I think that Ric Flair is terribly overrated. I respect the hell out of Chris Benoit, but I don't want to have his babies like most smarks. The only guys that are immune for me are Bret Hart, Owen Hart, and Chris Jericho. razazteca 0 Report post Posted November 23, 2003 Arn Anderson was not a good announcer for the Booker T vs Buff Bagwell match which killed the Invasion from the start. Jim Cornette runs the OVW Hoss Farm. Flair is crazy. I think Terry Funk, Stan Hansen, Vader are smark-proof.
