DerangedHermit Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 I was watching the newest incarnation of Power Rangers (Ninja Storm) on ABC Family last weekend and I saw a promo for the next series (Dino Thunder) with everybody's favorite Ranger (or almost everybody's) Tommy (Jason Frank). He was babbling about some sort of dinosaur DNA and such. Anyways, it seems cool that he'll be back.
Tawren Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Dino Thunder? The fuck? Tommy = awesome. I liked the Green guy (it's been a while since I watched, alright?!?) and that hot-ass Kimberly (yes, I was a little kid, and I thought she was DAYAM-UH~! worthy) more, though. Mighty Morphin > all.
DerangedHermit Posted November 27, 2003 Author Report Posted November 27, 2003 I checked up on a Power Rangers site and apparently he'll be playing the Black Dino Thunder Ranger. Here's what it looks like:
EdwardKnoxII Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 What in the hell is up with that costume?
Vyce Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 I always hated him. Hated him with a passion. How much does this guy's career suck that he has to go back to this gig? Anything to pay the bills, I guess.

EdwardKnoxII Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 I hated it when they just handed over leadership of the team to Tommy when he became the White Ranger while Jason just stood there and did nothing at all. They should at least had them have a showdown for the team leadership.
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Evil Green Ranger = awesome.
Jobber of the Week Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 How much does this guy's career suck that he has to go back to this gig? Anything to pay the bills, I guess. See, back when he was younger, I always thought he would have made an interesting karate-style cruiserweight. He'd naturally have tons of heel heat. I hated it when they just handed over leadership of the team to Tommy when he became the White Ranger while Jason just stood there and did nothing at all. They should at least had them have a showdown for the team leadership. Perhaps you didn't notice that Jason suddently stopped appearing in all episodes shortly after that? The reason he LEFT is because the actor quit the show, and they didn't write out his exit immediately. I stopped watching the show around the time he left, but some episodes (like the Lord Zedd Halloween episode) had no Jason, Trini, or Zack at all. I think they made up an excuse about them doing something else. When the characters did appear in costumed form, their voices sounded drastically different.
EdwardKnoxII Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Perhaps you didn't notice that Jason suddently stopped appearing in all episodes shortly after that? I know why they did it but, I'm taking about in STORYLINE terms. At the time I didn't think it look right for Jason to let them take his leadership away. stopped watching the show around the time he left, but some episodes (like the Lord Zedd Halloween episode) had no Jason, Trini, or Zack at all. I think they made up an excuse about them doing something else. Yeah I remember that Tommy, Kimberly, and Billy would be spending alot of with the new students and the only time you'd see the other Rangers is when they would morph.
Guest Olympic Slam Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 I hated it when they just handed over leadership of the team to Tommy when he became the White Ranger while Jason just stood there and did nothing at all. They should at least had them have a showdown for the team leadership. That pissed me off too. He just dissapared for like a few months and then shows up and immediately becomes leader because apparently white is superior.
Jobber of the Week Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 I know why they did it but, I'm taking about in STORYLINE terms. But Power Ranger logic makes WWE logic look like Hemingway and Tolstoy by comparison.
Ted the Poster Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Damn it! Now I'm thinking about Beetleborgs and VR Troopers! AHHHH! Since I've apparently got early 90's kids' shows going through my head right now, does anybody remember the show WMAC Masters? Man, that show fucking owned. It's the only show from that time period that I still watch.
Guest TheArchiteck Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Damn it! Now I'm thinking about Beetleborgs and VR Troopers! AHHHH! Since I've apparently got early 90's kids' shows going through my head right now, does anybody remember the show WMAC Masters? Man, that show fucking owned. It's the only show from that time period that I still watch. We Are....We Are....(deep voice) VR! Man, I watched the hell out of that show. Same with WMAC Masters. Every saturday afternoon, I beleive that was the last show on the saturday roundup, after that was either a movie or infomercials. I just recently saw a rerun of that show, I did not realize how horrible that show was. But its void of being a bad show just because of pleasant childhood memories.
Mecha Mummy Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Oh, god, Beetleborgs. Now THAT takes me back and scares the hell outta me.
syxx2001 Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 I've always liked Tommy. When I first started watching wrestling, I say Kidman in his white wifebeater and jeans days and said to my brother "Look. Its Tommy from Power Rangers".
DangerousDamon Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 We Are....We Are....(deep voice) VR! Troopers, 3 go....virtual reality.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 I'm surprised this show is still on TV and even more surprised its getting new episodes
LivingLegendGaryColeman Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 There was also the ghetto-rific Super Human Samari Cyber Squad, which was just that one guy. I think that was the one Matthew Lawrence was on....
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Super Human Samurai > You. The theme song was friggin great.
Ravenbomb Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 it also had Tim Curry as the evil villain guy
Guest Kamui Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 I'm surprised this show is still on TV and even more surprised its getting new episodes Are you KIDDING?!? Power Rangers is about the easiest show to make of all time- the company just takes the Ranger and Zord footage from the Japanese Sentai shows (in this case, Abaranger) and dubs over it with American voice actors while creating their own demorphed scenes. Cheap and an easy profit. Basically, we'll keep seeing PR shows until Sentai finally dies (and that probably won't happen anytime soon, as that franchise has been running strong since the '70s). Anyway....I also loathe the PR series, but for different reasons- I love Sentai, and I hate watching them tear up the latest show into shreds with their newest PR. And I really liked Abaranger this year, so "Dino Thunder" will be really painful to watch/hear about. The problem with PR is that they automatically assume that kids are idiots. I could go on a five-hour-long rant on why Ninja Storm was so horrible, and why going back to the goofy "Nothing actually matters!" approach was stupid, but no one here cares anyway, so whatever. -Duo
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 I miss the days of VR Troopers, Super Human Samari Cyber Squad, WMAC Masters, and the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.
syxx2001 Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 I liked Super Human Samari Cyber Squad. It was 1 guy, but the other 2 guys could help him by using their zords or whatever they were called when he needed them.
DangerousDamon Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 But you guys can't forget about the tatoo teenage alien fighters from beverly hills.
Ravenbomb Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 I miss the days of VR Troopers, Super Human Samari Cyber Squad, WMAC Masters, and the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. yeah. Back then everything on Saturday morning was people in suits and plastic helmets fighting monsters. Nowadays it's all Pokemon and the ripoffs thereof
Use Your Illusion Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Anyone remember when the NINJA FUCKING TURTLES appeared to fight against, then join up with, the Power Rangers? My God. Dino Thunder debuts this week, I'm fucking there. UYI
Guest Flyboy Posted February 12, 2004 Report Posted February 12, 2004 Evil Green Ranger = awesome. Yeah. Greatest thing of the Power Rangers... ever.
