treble Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 So, McDonalds is pimping these 'new, white meat Chicken McNuggets' and have commercials EVERYWHERE ('If you're gonna change something, change broccoli!') and the ads work and before long I start craving the things. Now, admittedly, I never had the 'old' McNuggets very often, but is there supposed to be some sort of difference taste-wise? I definitely didn't taste any difference from the last time I had some McNuggets a few months ago. Also, I hope they aren't any more expensive than they were before (not that I eat them often), because if they don't taste better, there's really no reason to change the way you make them, as I don't think white meat chicken from McDonalds is really any better for you than whatever they used to make the McNuggets out of before.
Tawren Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 Go to Wendy's. WAY better nuggets there.
the max Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 It worries, and at the same time, amuses me that McD's are now bragging about using white meat chicken.
treble Posted December 6, 2003 Author Report Posted December 6, 2003 I can't bring myself to get anything but burgers at Wendy's. I'm just curious as to why McDonalds would make a change that hardly seems like a change at all.
Guest El Satanico Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 I could tell a big difference. You not eating the old ones very often could be why you didn't notice the difference. The new nuggets are alot better, from the chicken to the breading. Still Wendy's holds the crown of best nuggets.

The Kid Posted December 6, 2003 Report Posted December 6, 2003 The meat is seasoned now I believe...they still taste great. Meat is less disgustingly non-meat like as well.

Guest hhheld_down Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 i didnt really eat mcnuggets before they changed them but its kinda scary that just now they are made with 100 percent all white meat... what the fuck was in there before?
MillenniumMan831 Posted December 7, 2003 Report Posted December 7, 2003 Side Question: How come they never show the fat kids in those commercials?
Perfxion Posted December 8, 2003 Report Posted December 8, 2003 Same reason they don't show drunks in beer ads, the cons of the product don't sell the product well.
Mole Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 I think there is one fat kid in the Mcdonald's commercial.
Guest Jimbo Posted December 15, 2003 Report Posted December 15, 2003 don't shoot me, but I didn't taste a difference in them at all, and I only realized I was eating the 'new' ones when I saw the label of the box when I was throwing it away
alfdogg Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 I had them once last week, I didn't really notice a difference either.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 They changed the McNuggets?
HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted December 16, 2003 Report Posted December 16, 2003 What I don't get it is, if you are going to McDonalds, shouldn't you be going for a burger? If you wanted chicken, why not go to a chicken place? Unless you get the spicy chicken sandwich from Wendys. Mmmmh Mmmmh Good.
Karnage Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 Well I tried the new nuggets and noticed the breading was crispier and the chicken was whiter. That's about it.
Guest El Satanico Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 I hate fried chicken, so burger joints are the only fast food chicken i can eat.

DerangedHermit Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 Unless you get the spicy chicken sandwich from Wendys. Mmmmh Mmmmh Good. Wild Mountain Chicken Sandwich...I hope they keep it.
Guest El Satanico Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 Unless you get the spicy chicken sandwich from Wendys. Mmmmh Mmmmh Good. Wild Mountain Chicken Sandwich...I hope they keep it. They won't. It's one of their Limited Time specials. It'll return again, so don't worry.
treble Posted December 18, 2003 Author Report Posted December 18, 2003 I must be one of the only people who doesn't like that Wild Mountain Chicken thing. I think it was the sauce that I didn't like the most, but the whole thing was a bit of a letdown.
Lightning Flik Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 Since I'm a lazy ass and not wanting to start a new topic since I won't be too long in posting; here's a sad little tale for you all on the new nuggets. Althought the taste of the new nuggets is minimally better, we're selling more of them by bundle. I even know some of my customers who hated them furiously and I asked them why suddenly they changed and this is what they respond with: "It's because it's white meat instead of being just a small McChicken nugget." It's THAT fucking different?
DerangedHermit Posted December 26, 2003 Report Posted December 26, 2003 I have to say people are stupid.
BX Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 Wendy's has the best chicken sandwiches? How about Bojangles?
Guest Ram Posted December 28, 2003 Report Posted December 28, 2003 There is a difference. Used to, 90% of the McNuggets' meat would be slightly gray (sometimes even a darker gray yellow). Sometimes there would be a very hard white bony type thing in them. Quality control over these things here in the US has pretty much been awful. When I went to Germany, their McD's McNuggets were supremely better. The new white meat thing doesn't change much in taste, but it does improve the quality of the meat you're getting.
