The "Games You Just Bought" Thread

Recommended Posts

 chirs3, we've been saying it's good since it like came out.

You need to be here more often for it.

Well, I just bought myself an SP and Golden Sun: The Lost Age.

...really funny thing was the SP turned on and went with it's bright light, I was like a little kid again turning it on and off... I don't know why.

I know, I know...

It's not really that bad. How it refuses to explain anything to you is awful, but it can be pretty easy.

The game does seem to hold a grudge against humanity, though.

I just couldn't at all get into that game, PERIOD.

It was just like a bad, bad, bad nightmare. I mean, I was getting whumped by a whole bunch of bandits and couldn't figure out where the hell I need to go in the village to kill them all off. BUT THEY JUST KEPT ON COMING OUT OF THE WOOD WORK.

...I want another game though. Not sure what to buy. Love my new SP though as it makes the normal one I have feel like CRAP.

Although I was extensively mocked by my father for buying that "toy" as he puts it (it's not, it's the thing that makes the toy work).

I went to Funcoland yesterday, exchanged Street Fighter II and got WWF RAW (SNES)

How much extra?

They probably gave you a quarter for SFII, right?

I didn't trade the game in, I just took SFII and exchanged it for another game (WWF RAW)

Plus, when I tried SFII to see if it worked, it wouldn't work.

So, I took the game back to Funcoland and they let me exchange it for another game. They actually gave me some money back for the game, as SFII cost $5.99 and WWF RAW cost $4.99 and if you get a game that costs less than the one you're bringing back to exchange, then you get some money back. Had I gotten a game that cost more than SFII did, I would've had to pay more.

Had I traded the game in, I probably would've gotten a quarter or a little more for SFII. My guess, anyway.

And to add to the thread, I went to Costco yesterday and picked up Medal of Honor: Frontline for Xbox.

Is that how that works? I thought when you returned something that cost more than the item you recieve in exchange that you had to dish out even more. Thank you for explaining how the monetary system works. hehehe

I've been picking up old PS1 games left and right...they cost next to nothing now. I'm also thinking of reaquiring an N64 along with Mario64, MarioKart64, Conquer's Bad Fur Day(never played it), and the Banjo-Kazooie games. All the THQ wrestling games as well, but that goes without saying.

I picked up a bunch of cheap N64 games used, what with Gamestop doing this "buy 2 used get one free" dealy.

WCW/nWo Revenge (49 cents!)

Mischief Makers

Doom

Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness

Starfox

I also got the SNES Slammasters and Contra: Hard Corps for Genesis.

Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness

Ewwwwwww

Kudos on hard corps and Mischief makers though.

Hey, it's not the first CV on N64! It's not that bad!

Someone who really likes it told me to at least give it a shot. It's not really CV, but camera issues aside it's an interesting game.

As for Hard Corp--since I suck at that game... *holds up Game Genie* NOW I MIGHT STAND A CHANCE!!

I do the same GameStop thing, love their used program. Also holy shit on WCW/NWO revenge only being 49cents!

Last I knew Electronics boutique was doing a thing where you could buy any 15 Dreamcast games for $50

Just bought the Sega Mega Pack for the PC, it contains Smash Pack 1&2, Sonic R, Sonic CD, Sonic & Knuckles, Bass Fishing, Virtural Fighter 2, Crazy Taxi.

Not bad for $20.

Funco Land is a total ripoff.

On anything recient their prices are too much for used games. And they use to be good about credit, now they're just stealing.

I took a MegaMan X2 in to see what I'd get on trade...$7, for a game they want $50 for. They use to give at least close to half.

Ah well...going to the flea market later today. They have places there where you can get brand new games that just came out for $30. hmmm, wonder how they get them...[sarcasm]

My opinion on Gamestop? Once in a while, you'll find a great deal (like how I found Light Crusader or Beyond Oasis), but for the most part their prices are too high.
