Recommended Posts

I burned a compilation of Megadeth songs onto a CD and was wondering what you thought about the song selection.

1. Wake up Dead

2. The Conjuring

3. Peace Sells

4. My Last Words

5. In My Darkest Hour

6. Holy Wars...The Punishment Due

7. Hangar 18

8. Tornado of Souls

9. Rust in Peace...Polaris

10. Skin O' My Teeth

11. Symphony of Destruction

12. Sweating Bullets

13. Countdown to Extinction

14. Train of Consequences

15. A Tout le Monde

16. Angry Again

Where's anything off Cryptic Writings, Risk, or TWNAH?

You're leaving off a lot of great stuff from those albums.

Put

Crush 'Em

Trust

FFF

She-Wolf

Disconnect

Burning Bridges

on there, and it would be 100% better.

I was about to say something about "Mechanix," actually. It needs to be on there.

What's with the love for "Train Of Consequences"? I don't really understand why people like that song, since it's just kinda bland...now "Use The Man," THAT is a good tune. And one I see is not on there!

its okay, not the best comp ever.

Some of Megadeth's best songs are off of albums after Youthanasia.

No Addicted to Chaos on there either

Good point, but I didn't mention too much after Youth because then it'd become a 2-disc set. :D

I am a HUGE mark for Kill the King though; that's seriously in my top 5 favorite Deth songs.

Risk has a few tolerable songs, and I'm not even a big Megadeth fan.

Re-Load is an abomination, through and through.

Plus, I seem to recall hearing that it was Lars who told Mustaine that he didn't take enough risks, which lead to that album.

Thus, we can blame Lars for both anyway.

Guest Agent of Oblivion

In a way, I almost think Risk is worse, due to Megadeth not putting out a truly terrible album that was a complete departure from their sound right before it. I always expected Metallica to put out something shitty, and they don't often let me down. Crush 'Em and Insomnia both really bother me though, moreso than any of the tepid mediocrity and suck that is Reload. That said, I've probably listened to each album a total of twice each. Shitty shitty shitty.
