They're doing Motley Crue in February 2005 is what their official website said.  I like it, but there are a lot of others who had a much bigger impact on MTV, many of them listed already in this thread.

Who's official site? Crue's?

Oh, that Nikki, always looking for a little attention.

:headbang: Nikki Styx is the best bass player that ever lived. :headbang:

My IQ dropped 50 points :bonk:

Actually Avril cover of Fuel was the best song out of all the bands that covered Metallica songs

Korn's version of One was the best song of the night.

Considering the song sucked and wasn't even the full song, that's not saying much.

Must be nice being the worse of the bunch.

What am I saying? Jim Brewer's unfunny self outdid that crap Korn tried to pass off as One.

Snoop Dog and the pimps did a better job at a Metallica song than Avil.

You can never go wrong with Snoop and pimps.

I would personally like to see Public Enemy get their own ICON show since they were certainly an influence on some of rap's biggest stars today. They were the first rap group to rap about political and social issues. And Flava Flav is the best hype man ever. But that's just me. Knowing MTV, they're probalby have 50 Cent do a cover of "Fight The Power". *Shudder*

Oh no doubt. Sixx will say ANYTHING to get Motley's name back in the press. By 2005, there will be officially no one who gives a fuck about the Crue anymore.

Well MTV is making a movie out of Motley Crue's book The Dirt, which would be a reason for them to do a Motley Icon show. It brings more interest and hype for the movie.

That scares me.

Starring as .....

Vince Neil, played by Nick Carter (Backstreet Boy)

Nikki Sixx, played by Benji (Good Charlotte)

Mick Mars, played by Lil' Jon

Tommy Lee, played by Ashton Kutcher

Heather Locklear, played by Hilary Duff

Pamela Anderson, played by Pamela Anderson

I'd hope for better casting then that

The thing that kind of pisses me off about it is MTV has spent the better half of the last 13 years sucking Cobains dick and making fun of Crue and other bands from that era. Now they can make some money off of Motley Crue so their going to honor them.

By 2005 Crue would still be known, but these bands today will be forgotten, or broke up.
